Marking the Two Hundred Fiftieth birthday of the United States today.
The Second Continental Congress, meeting in Philadelphia, voted for the independence of the United Colonies by passing the Lee Resolution on July 2, 1776. The Declaration of Independence, mainly written by Committee of Five member Thomas Jefferson, was proclaimed on July 4, the date on which the anniversary of independence is observed.
Wishing a wonderful day to all who celebrate. It's a beautiful day in my neck of the woods, without rain on Picnics and Parades.
What is in store for your weekend?

Thank you for starting us today Harriet.
I have my once-a-month stitching group today. I got a lot done yesterday. I had been stitching the spine of a book that was in a very boring colour and it has taken me too long to get it done, so yesterday I tried to get a lot done. Today I will be able to finish that particular book.
Dh has a new-to-us landscaper who has already complained to dh that our property is "big". My thoughts are that this guy isn't going to show up. Our regular guy hasn't shown up in over 2 weeks. Our weeds are making our property look abandoned almost. Of course 4 thunderstorms in 4 days isn't exactly helping with the weeds.
I need to get moving or I will be late getting to the stitch group. I need to pick up orange juice on the way home.

Wishing all the lovely American Ladies a very happy 250th birthday today. And wishing everyone else a very happy Saturday.
DH is out with his friends, so I have a day at home. I've sent various emails, and wrestled the printer into submission, so it's finally printed the menu for our church's parish lunch later this month and the sign up sheet for those who wish to attend. I've fed and sprayed the roses in my front garden (doing this early before the sun gets round there).
The first LOL is in the machine and I'm about to bake a cake and sort out lunch for tomorrow. I need to dust and hoover downstairs - I'll do that while my cake is in the oven, and.I also need to fold and PA yesterday's laundry. When it's cooled down again this evening, I'll do a little in my back garden, and maybe even sit out there for a while!

Good morning
We are celebrating quietly today. I've had enough of hearing & seeing the fireworks and light shows to check those off my list. I am enjoying listening to patriotic music and watching the amazing videos.
Picnic at the lake is on our plans for the day.

I was up way early but did get some items accomplished.
Charged up the mower battery after mowing at dusk last evening.
Made slaw dressing.
Watered in back.
Painted the underside of the side table legs before it got so hot unlike yesterday.
Walked ddoggo around the block no evidence of the lounge booming fireworks I was hearing.
Got dressed in red and blue today.
Had bfast.
Watering in front now.
qt & journaling done.
Might do laundry and sheets today it's so much quieter in the basement.
Soccer begins in just over an hour I think there are like 3 games today to district us from the noise later on.
I could sew or use my new yarn. still deciding on a way to do a vest.
Waving to all.
Napped bummed b/c the match does not start for a while mid morning here.
So... I put on some seasonal mussc that's fun!
Got the outdoor kitchen workspace cleaned off.

Plan A (picnic at lake) is scratched off my plans for the day.
I thought we could go early enough so the heat wouldn't be dangerous. Nope. By the time we had the food ready and packed to take, it was 96F. Just sitting or standing outside for 10 minutes results in being uncomfortable & on the verge of overheating.
Plan B happened. We enjoyed the picnic food inside the house where temps are a comfortable 78F.
Wild turkeys and roadrunners are loving the heat. They are running around and living their best lives. I love to watch them as long as they keep their distance. They are fearless so I don't want to tangle with them!
DBro called and chatted for over 30 minutes. He is thrilled with the abundance energy and no joint pain after his recent shot experiment. However, he is so busy and going nonstop which is resulting in more sweating and muscle cramps. DBro is outside over 75% of the time which is normal for him with many of the hours on horseback and working cattle. I suspect he is dehydrated even though he claims he drinks all the time and uses electrolytes. I challenged him to do 2 things -
#1 - contact local nurse to come to his home and give him an IV bag of saline & electrolytes. I heard DSisIL in the background immediately get on her phone calling to make that happen.
#2 - fill a gallon jar up every morning with water and make sure that jar is empty before he goes to bed at night.
I absolutely love that DBro is living and loving his life. Eight years ago we didn't think he would survive stage 4 cancer, but here he is going strong. $o thankful!

LM it's good to hear our your wins with a plan B.
I had a good chat with dsis.
Game is on now. It is so interesting the uniforms that the goal keepers use.
I will start Moving stuff out of the kit. dining room sweep and mop as I listen.
That still needs to be done plus I can use the steps. Just a few items from my BWP.... tasks.
I could strip sheets off the bed as well and get them to the basement.
We have red flag warnings up today glad I've watered already.
I picked up apples for deer wild turkey and squirrels.
Had to spiff up the kitchen again this morning.
