Friends Clean Together Friday Fiesta

Post by Harriet »

This was something thoughtful about cleaning from Cathy last year. Too smile-giving and too good to be forgotten:
I don't know if the Apple I phone commercials are the same in the US or UK as they are in Canada, but they have had a really cute one playing here for the past couple of weeks A human drops their phone in a forest. Some woodland creature picks it up and turns it on, propping it up. Then there is some singing "Friends play together... LA LA LA LA..." etc. With numerous choruses of LA LA LA LA!! throughout the commercial. At the end they just show the Apple symbol.

Quite honestly, I think of this group, and in my mind, I am thinking "Friends clean together, LA LA LA LA!" We've been cleaning and "playing" together for many years, through divorces, death or simply drifting away. So....

LA LA LA LA!!

Twins' and I are possibly starting at the same time! Is it a race to deletion? She must be BRILLIANT to think so much like me... ..

Good morning

Today is the long-awaited day for DH to finally have appt with neurologist. DS18 insist on taking us (2+ hour drive). I don't have high hopes to change DH mental decline, but we will see how it goes.

We will be back in time to get DD15 from school.

Cathy had also used "Fiesta" for our Friday once, so I guess I had her ideas on my mind.

hi to lucylee

LadyM, nice to hear ds18 is insisting on taking you two. I hope the long-awaited day goes very well.

The kinfolks may or may not be coming after all, letting us know at the last minute that they were hoping to bring another cousin, BUT that now the cousin is saying it doesn't work for her. So they may postpone until another time.

So I am much more in "Clean Together" mode now! FIESTA!

Round Robin for me, I think, either 10 small or 5 LARGER decisions in each room... ..

I have been up a while tried to see the Northern lights / not really.
Might have been cloudy.
Got to my Qt and q.m. stuff.
Showered & washed my hair.
Walked.

Saw a yard sale trying to decide if I will go to or not.
I did walk to it for more steps and got a couple of great books one on butterflies
and the other on plants great with pictures!

Finished with my log in my top three planner.
Got quite a bit done yesterday and was able to put that on the page.

Hope you all have a fabulous Friday. Fun / or Day Friday card is up for me.
May be doing some basement activities this afternoon
duds, drawing, desk stuff... who knows!

Waving.

-----
Did some things:
some knitting
took Rx
rounded up duds sorted & started them after taking to the basement,
did a walk about downstairs moved an item to make room for the new picture I got.
went out to the garden and dug out two walnut trees small in size planted by the squirrels.
clipped off some $ plant for fall decor and put those in vases in the Liv. room.
did the above while listening to audio book on not being distracted! LOL!

Hi!

This morning dh went out for a coffee with a friend of ours. This guy's dad had Parkinson's for over 20 years before he passed away. He is also a local politician. We found out this morning that he isn't running in the local mayoral race because his wife isn't well. She has something similar to LordM. Bouts of dementia-type episodes that aren't getting any better after initial recovery. Right now she has no short term memory at all. He's stepping away to care for her. I think he will still continue in what he is doing, but not taking on something that he has wanted for years. He would most likely get it, but we understand why he isn't "in the race". He is very popular in the area. His parent's are listed as being in the "50 most influential people" in our tiny town. Dh had some questions for him regarding Parkinson's, plus they hadn't talked in a while.

While I had an hour and a half to myself, I vacuumed the entire house. I also emptied the dishwasher. "LA LA LA LA!!"

Sheesh! I could have sat and put my feet up or read my book or... ... ...

I have stitching group this afternoon. Followed by leftover pasta and home made meatballs in a meat sauce for supper. Followed by Blue Jays Baseball VS. NY Yankees on TV after supper.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Ugh, couldn't finish getting us started, was something about focus, but dh was on the phone loudly, and ddog was fussing about a walk...

After he finished phone call he went immediately into "Can you set up my computer for me?????" I think (hope) we're there but this frustrates me to death. He won't use Last pass because it's on his phone and he doesn't want to pay to use on two devices. He has no idea what some passwords are, or his to go upstairs to get his little secret book that might or might not contain the password.

And I'm just now circling back and doing 10 other things and the dog is barking again....

Anyway, I have nothing on the calendar today which is wonderful but I do need to force myself to do some things. We'll be at the river tomorrow and then are having dinner with dneighbors tomorrow night - they are celebrating have all three of theirs away at college finally.

Updates still installing on dh's new laptop.
Be at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let every new year find you a better [wo]man. Ben Franklin

((Twins')) ugh, hope all that is done soon.

In addition to round robin-ing through some rooms, starting with
kitchen,
bathroom,
mud room,
I've
handled a nagging Desk Day chore on the phone for a while, finally delegating right on out of this household, yay. Off my mind. Also got to make a point by delegating. :| Always uplifting when you get your point across ;)

It turned out that no visitors came after all, and they must have considered the heads-up that they MIGHT not come to be enough notice, lol. No further info was forthcoming, and it's hours later now, frustrating my darling husband.

Funny how when it's not MY company's plans, but HRH's, that I don't get as upset about the zigs and zags.

Cathy, I hope your dh gets a lot of helpful input. Good job on a day of floor attention.

Nancy, the books sound fun, a happy result of a walk today!

blessed, another card color is such a good visual. I remember when I first heard that idea  of running a wide felt pen or highlighter across the top of a card, suddenly (2 seconds?) making it into "another color". It was someone here on our boards who first said it, or perhaps quoted P and P "within my hearing" for the first time. What a revelation, lol.
