Thankful for admins that do the behind-the-scenes stuff so we can still be together!

What are you thankful for today?

LucyLee I'm going to have to try some of this magical white lotus energy drink stuff!

I've taken the compost to the end of the driveway. It's nice out right now even though the sun is hiding behind some clouds right at the moment.

I had a fabulous time with a friend of mine yesterday. I took them a basket of peaches and another basket with stuff from our garden. (red pepper, green pepper, green and yellow beans, raspberries and blackberries and tomatoes) To be honest, they freaked out when I told them that nothing had been been washed. They think everything from a grocery store gets washed before they take it home and wash it again.  "What's in the bag with the beans?" ... (Me... "that's dirt from the garden, just rinse it off before you cook the beans.") Them... "You don't wash them when you pick them? She is a germophobe! She (prefers "they") doesn't hug or kiss cheeks or shakes hands.

No appointments until mid October!

LadyM I had no idea that there were specific shoes for people with diabetes. Dh just wears regular "running" shoes. His only requirement is that they have to be white. Neither one of his doctors have ever said that he needs a certain type of shoe. Of course, we don't have to do all the insurance stuff that seems to be a requirement in the U.S.

Good morning
was the change in rx cost related to a change in insurance or something else?
No changes made on our side. We have same insurance and same meds for several years. I don't stay up with the regulations & policies but apparently something has changed to drop the prescription cost to zero. I don't know for sure, but I think it has something to do with medicare because the teenagers aren't on medicare and their prescription meds aren't zero cost.

Diabetic shoes - I don't know the exact requirements but it seem to be closed toed (no sandals), leather and easy on/off with nothing binding tight. Because the feet lose feeling, sores can happen and they won't know. DH grandmother had to have her foot ampulated because of this so we take it serious.

Thank you for starting this thread, Cathy.

Today I am thankful for a lovely time at church this morning.

Your garden produce all sounded delicious! I couldn't help smiling at the description of your friend. My parents washed everything, but nut I dont think I've ever washed any produce in my life. And when I had my allotment I can remember ender pulling a carrot out of the ground, giving it a quick wipe on my jeans and then eating it!

Lady M, I'm glad the prescription prices have come down and that you were able to get the right shoes for your DH.

The forum will be updated sometime within the next 24 hours.

If I had to guess at specifics, I would guess late evening or overnight EST.

It is 5pm and still 102F.
Doing things outside in this heat is potentially dangerous.
They say the 100+ temps will end in 3 more days.
Bring on the change of weather please!
