OOOOHHH! Bittersweet! That is cold. Keep warm!!

It is 48*F here this morning. Really not too bad.

We will leave for church in about 2 hours and then I'm not sure what we will be doing. Either working in the yard or watching football.

Slowly beginning to feel better, however LO was sick to his stomach this morning and DH is close behind him.....so the stomach bug is still circulating around our home. I notified SS director that I wouldn't be able to teach this morning. His goal was to have backup for every position.....I hope he has a plan for my replacement.

I am a bit stunned to see completed card count @ 56 already today. I've just been doing the next thing without any effort on speed or efficiency.

Busy day yesterday. In the morning I went to a fun "gift in a jar" class at the library. This was a repeat of one they did last year, but it was much better organized this time. Registration of $10 included everything to make 1 jar of soup mix and 1 of cookie mix, with circles of fabric to decorate the top and ribbons to tie on recipe tags printed in color.

Then I stopped at the local flower/gift shop to look for ideas for stocking stuffer gifts for my sewing group board members. I bought pretty "sun catcher" type ornaments -- a metal strip formed into a spiral that looks like a fabric ribbon, with some "crystal" beads attached -- for $2 each. They can be used as Christmas ornaments but are not overtly Christmas designs.

They only had 5 of those, though, and I need 6 gifts. For the one who has already traveled down south to their winter home, I bought some little wooden cutouts painted and covered in glitter, they say "peace", "noel", and "joy." They are flat and lightweight enough to mail. I need to ask around for her winter address.

So that was the first part of my desire to buy from local stores.

After lunch, DH stayed home to fix a leaky faucet while I drove to The Big City for errands.

One of the fabric stores was having an open house, where I bought a package of bobbins and 2 yards of beautiful floral cotton. (Harriet will recognize the name Hoffman; I'll try to find a photo to put in AC&N.) Of course I don't need new fabric, but this piece is so pretty that I think I'll hang it by my desk to brighten winter days until I decide what to make with it.

Also went to a gas station, pet store to get cat food, and WM for Rx and groceries.

For someone who doesn't like to shop, it was a really good successful shopping day.

Morning y'all...

I'm up and moving this morning. Have a load in the washer and am getting ready to flip then.

We went to a very large car show yesterday. There were at least 3,000 cars being exhibited. It was outside and the weather was great. We have friends with cars there so after we walked around, we sat and visited. We are going back again today. Remember Sweetie is building a Shelby Cobra, and there are vendors we didn't have time to see.

I really don't care what we do....I just love being outside. The fresh air and walking are great for the body and soul.

We are eating out for Thanksgiving. What a relief for me. I don't have to worry or fuss and can just enjoy my time being off from work. Then in 3 weeks time we will be off for Xmas break, and half of the school year will be over...see this is how a teacher thinks

Already afternoon here and nothing to show for it!

Yesterday realtor friend was here to walk through and then we went to look at a different house - same neighborhood that was a little larger. And now we've moved on to wanting that house - about the same size as this one but MBR on main level. So I think the answer is we don't know what we want. Maybe we'll obsess over this one a week and move on, too?

After seeing the house and hanging out there awhile, we realized we needed to rush home to get to the 6 p.m. event...left there around eight, and spent the rest of the evening watching football - not UT and Vandy, but FL State and VA for dh.

For today:
-look at house again?
-must make grocery list and get groceries. (I don't know there is a good time to go for groceries this week )
-routines
-walk the dogs (we did get in a b-a-l-l throwing session yesterday but no walk)

We have pulled pork barbeque for supper tonight - dh's civic club was barbecuing pork "butts" this weekend as a fund raiser so that's been the joke around here all weekend....

Tomorrow I must see about repairing or ordering new glasses - One side of my glasses frame broke off when I accidently stepped on the glasses last night...

-clear kitchen counters
-dogs meds/vitamins & meds me
-reboot laundry?
-empty the dishwasher
-straighten family room

This time:
-make bed
-quick s2
-straighten up the bathrooms
-refill meds containers
-purge refrigerator

I'm on a break, a couple of hours when we don't need to be anywhere.

Church went well. I got thank you notes signed for the minister's extended family who cooked all the food for the Asian Supper. Turned the money over to the church.

Stayed forever at coffee hour. Went to leave and nearly grabbed the wrong purse again. I did that last night with the same purse. I thought the purse belonged to J and that made us think she was upstairs decorating for Advent. Others went back upstairs to help her. Only she wasn't there. Then B commented that the purse was there this morning when he came to turn on the heat. Which meant it hadn't moved since last night.... I opened it up and found the wallet with ID. The purse belonged to B's wife! He didn't recognize it, she didn't miss it. She goes to another church so left the supper last night, drove into the city to watch a grandchild at a hockey game, back home and off to church the next morning without mentioning she was missing her purse. Very strange. He's concerned about her and I think rightly so. She suffered a bad stroke years ago and perhaps this is a lingering problem or new symptom.

Dh and I went down to the market town for lunch at the diner. And then shopping. I bought battery operated candles for the window of the church to use as a decoration next week. Milk is on sale, so I bought some of that and will buy a lot more next Thursday (last day of the sale.) Also got two more HGP items.

I'm going to rest for 30 minutes, then start work on our annual Christmas letter.
