Rainy Days and Mondays......Bittersweet beat me to the punch this morning....I'll save Rainy Days and Mondays for another week!

We've had thunderstorms since around 2 or 3 a.m. and I slept poorly with dMacs wound up. I think the worst of our storms have moved on through but we were without internet and cable earlier. Some school in AL are running on a delay, and there is a report on Facebook of a tornado in the Birmingham Jefferson Co, AL area.

I'm feeling very behind to start the week - my motivation must be the same place as Kathryn and Lucylee's. I still haven't written for the temple bulletin and must do that today, along with emailing designer about the house, and several other OMM things. And work - am finally getting busier and today must put together final prep for my little part of tax training tomorrow (time budget 30 - 45 min.) Also, meeting last night added several to-dos to my week, including having lunch with a temple board member to discuss whether this person can be effective in the designated role. Not an easy lunch. We last met with the designer last Tuesday and she was to email us the next day - Ha! Haven't heard a word back so we need to stay on her and be proactive, I suspect.

Ooooh. How will I make it fun? Need to think that one through as it certainly doesn't sound fun this morning!

I am up and going strong. Determined to make the best of what today will bring. LO is already up because of a coughing/mucus episode that woke him up. I had hoped today would find us returning to normal schedule but instead it will be another sick day. Poor little fella - I know he is tired of feeling yucky.

Alrighty! No matter what - I know there is a way to MAKE IT FUN! hum....wonder what kind of shapes I can cut the breakfast toast into?

Good luck, Twins, with that lunch. I've got one person who thinks she might be in the wrong role at the other church so wants to quit and join my church. I've got several issues: does she really want to quit or does she want me to tell her that she's doing a great job and she shouldn't quit? (She should!) Do I think the other church won't be angry at us for 'poaching' one of their members? And since she has a wide circle of friends there, why does she want to leave that and come to our church?

A couple of other people have been brought into the discussion (by the other person, not me) and one says "tell her to quit" and the other says "she should stay."

This isn't a paid position so that complicates matters further. When I had my Ministry and Personnel file open, I noted I had clipped an article on how to fire a volunteer so maybe I should re-read that.

But all that is a problem for another day.

I'm up. My in-box has many more of the missing reports so I think I'm down to just the financial reports plus the statistics (which are in a book at the office so I just have to get someone to read them to me - or go over and do it myself.)

I'm enjoying my treadmill this morning but just remembered I forgot to fill the hot water pot last night before bed so I'll do that before my shower and then there will be water for my tea when I come downstairs.

Make it fun... make it fun... hmmm... I do not think pronouns are going to be much fun for a bunch of kids who stayed up half the night watching the weather. * sigh *
I think we only had wind, rain, thunder & lightning here. I slept fine. But since the terrible storms of last April, a lot of people in our area are extremely nervous whenever the weather man says the T word (tornado). Rightfully, so, of course... and I'd be a LOT more concerned, I'm sure, if I had actually been touched by those storms last April. You just can't relate until you've actually survived one, I'm sure.

Anyway... we're fine... and I'm off to "make it fun."

Motivation, Twins? I just don't have ANY! Wish I did. Can hardly wait to be back on my home turf -but that's 3 months off. I see situation with dgd slowly (or not really so slowly) going backwards and downhill. DD is already thinking about taking her to NY this summer. (Unless she can find a 6-week camp for her. )

DH and I are going over to his DB's in a little bit. He wants to try walking first. It's been weeks! I know I need to be more active than I am. Find myself just being in our room more often than not.

DD and I went to IKEA in Orlando on Saturday (what were we thinking!!??) It was nice for both of us. This Saturday DD, DH and I are going to Disney (later in the day) and dgd will have a sitter. DSIL will probably be around but this will give him freedom for the afternoon/evening too. He's not a "Disney" person and we all would just like to go without dgd for a change of scene. Not that it's been bad when we've gone with her but she can sure be miserable if we're not doing everything to her specs. Yadayadayada......

I'm battling all over again with the MED Co -we have new insurance numbers and since they put those in (at least I am supposing they did) all of our refills/renewals have disappeared and they have no records. I've written my Dr a letter asking for written prescriptions for everything and then I will mail them in and see if that makes any difference! I'm nearly out of one script and will be on another in a week or so. How I'd love to be able to go to a local pharmacy! Not available through our insurance -which is crazy!

Our annual meeting at (northern) church was yesterday. I tried to attend via Skype, but for some reason neither they nor I would appear 'online' though we were. WE also became Associate Members of the church here yesterday. So it was a busy day.

Guess I'll get ready to go. BBL

Why would a person set the alarm for 6 (it went off at 5:53) if they weren't going to get up then? Grrrrr!! Husbands.

Anyway, I'm up and S2bf and ready for the day. I think I will go make noise so he will get up, too. That will be my fun thing for the day.

We have to be at the hospital by 8:30 for the PFT. I know he will flunk this one, too as he always does. Give him a break, people! He's missing part of a lung. They love to go Blow, Blow Blow as you pass out.

I'm off to the kitchen and my breakfast.

Harriet: I guess they are two separate issues in a way. She's not enjoying her role in the church and wants to stop. She also likes a good music program and our church has that, so she wants to join us, instead of staying at her church which doesn't have as good a music program. The problem, of course, is that her church will be insulted that she picked us over them for regular worship. And since we are sister churches and have joint committees, this could be a huge issue in the relationship between the churches. For the member herself, this is the best thing to do. For the churches, it is a minefield. So do I do pastoral care and suggest what is best for the member or do I work on church unity which means discouraging her plan?

I'm s2s now, have eaten breakfast, and started a load of laundry. Because dh is away for two half weeks, I'm only doing half the bedding on our bed this week so I have to wash and put it back on immediately today instead of pulling out a complete fresh set of linens.

I've read my emails and need to act on them now. I wonder if I can get the first draft of the annual report finished by noon?

Okay, I really feel for LO as he struggles with the mucus issues and for you as you watch this struggle. When we lived in Colorado and dd1 was about 9, she came down with a virus and was having a terrible time with mucus issues. It was late evening and 30+ degrees below zero. She seemed to be getting worse and I would have taken her to the hospital but hated to get her out in the cold. So, as you have earlier mentioned, you used to be able to get liquid over the counter products for this. She hated that stuff, but I insisted she take it. We were in the kitchen. She had no more than taken it, when she ran to the sink and started throwing up. Luckily she went to the disposal side. This is TMI, but she threw up and threw up, just pure mucus. I didn't know a childs body could hold that much. When she was done, she was fine. The next morning I made an appt for her to see the dr. I remember him looking at her and telling her that was a rough way to take care of the problem, but he was glad that it had worked. I was glad to hear that she none worse for the wear after that situation.

I need to run a bunch of errands today. I had intended to go to the other house and wash windows and valances in the living room. It's on the north side of the house and without the ceiling fan light, it would be a waste of time. I will go and work somewhere else.

Dd2 is having a doozy of a time with PMS. I have just been staying clear of her and her grouchy behavior. I don't have to put up with that attitude and I won't.

Well as much as I hate to drag myself out in the cold, I better get with it.
