Thank goodness it's Thursday!

We're out of school tomorrow for Good Friday. It would have been one of our "weather days" but since we didn't have to use any, we get a 3-day weekend. I am definitely ready for a break!
However, we're still watching the weather around here, too, so I'm hoping we just get rain.
Most of my students are supposed to be gone on a field trip today, so I'm also hoping for a quiet day!
Harmony -- you asked about ddad's business. I think his workers are still on the job, but yes -- it is driving him crazy to be missing so much time himself. He is just such a workaholic, and he doesn't deal well with down-time when he has to entertain himself. * sigh * He is the oldest of three children, all born within 4 years of each other, and dmom says when he was growing up, their house was the gathering spot for all their friends and relatives. So -- besides the physical aspects of his illness -- the emotional issues of his illness can really get to him.
Oh well... gotta s2s. Field trip or not, they still like for me to sign in on time.

Good Morning!
I am back on schedule this morning, however it doesn't take more than a "blink of the eye" for me to get behind. It will take several days of consistently staying on track to get caught back up to where I was (and I wasn't totally caught up even then!)
DSon & family haven't moved yet. They are in limbo since the sellers don't seem to have their act together and the Realtor didn't discover it until a couple days before they were suppose to close. The home was being sold due to divorce and it now looks like the home will have to go into foreclosure instead of a quick short sell to DSon/DDIL. DDIL had movers hired and schedule to move them on Monday. She had another company preparing to rip up flooring (ceramic tile/carpet) and put down hard wood floor in a few of the rooms. Had new carpet selected for one of the staircases and all of the upstairs. Another company hired to replace both hot water heaters. Another company hired to put up different fence in yard. ETC ETC ETC. All this work came to a screeching halt when the closing was delayed/postponed. I am staying out of their business but am not disappointed this may not be their new home. It is A BEAUTIFUL HOME but somehow it doesn't seem to fit them as well as it should. I lost count the number of rooms (thinking it was 5 bedroom, 6 bathrooms, 3 living areas, theater/media room, 2 offices, 2 dining areas...can't remember what else) so a person would think there would be an answer for every need.....but somehow the layout of the home leaves several issues not addressed. >>>>shrugging shoulders<<<< DSon/DDIL are very capable so I'm sure they will figure out what will work for them.
I have boots!! I was greatly relieved to find my favorite boots are still being sold. Our local boot store doesn't carry them but I found them in big city boot store. ***PHEW*** I now have comfortable & safe footwear. If these boots last like the last ones I've owned, I will still be daily wearing them in the year 2017.

Oh dear! I misread OKay's sentence as "I have boobs!!", and couldn't quite figure out what she was talking about!
The weather here is beyond atrocious this morning!!! The expected snowstorm did hit, and we've had about three inches since 2am. It's very heavy, wet snow - huge flakes - and there are power outages all over the city, including quite a few traffic lights. The snow isn't expected to end until sometime early this afternoon. Ah well...maybe it'll be slow at work!
I guess I'd better get off my backside and go deal with the critters.

Up early to get DH off to breakfast with the boys. Sent him with a grocery list this morning so needed to check a few things in the pantry and from recipes.
Watching GMA while eating breakfast and wish our friends in the SE to be careful of weather.
Time to hit the shower and get moving today. I have a completely empty trailer to start filling with trimmings. I could also move some rocks but will see how things go.

I'm on a break from a very productive morning.
Got up and s2s at a good hour but started a load of laundry first.
Tidied bedroom, lined up the rest of the laundry (to be done tonight and tomorrow since it is 5 loads) and then cleaned the upstairs bathrooms.
Had breakfast and caught up on devotions (I had 4 days to do.) I let my touched up toenails dry while I was doing that (tonight is a first washing service, so I didn't want chipped nails.)
Got the meat I bought on Tuesday into the freezer, unloaded the dishwasher, and noted the freezer drain on the fridge is blocked again. Hopefully, I'll get to that tomorrow.
Vacuumed the basement.
Vacuumed and dusted the bedroom level, brought the bedroom window screens up from the basement, washed those, washed the bedroom windows inside and out and lubricated all the latches, put in the screens. Hung up the load of laundry.
Next challenge is to gather stuff together for the Maundy Thursday service and take it over to the church when dh gets home. Ooops, he just walked in and I haven't started that yet.

It took Jake and I a while to get from our suite outside this morning. As soon as we got in the hall he was greeted by one of his favorite male residents. The resident talks softly to him and pets and scratches him.
Next we ran into one of the housekeepers. More petting.
We finally got to the garage in the basement and there were two more housekeepers. One of them is his favorite. She sits in the ground to pet him. The other housekeeper did the same thing so he kept going back and forth for petting.
Once we got outside we had plenty to watch. The mallards were patrolling the pond. They were trying to get the pair of geese to leave. The geese visit in the morning and late afternoon. They won't live here because of the grass that was deliberately planted to keep them from living in the pond. It is tall thick grass and they don't like it. Keeping them out means they aren't polluting the pond.
Then he watched the cars pulling into and out of the garage and the golf carts with maintenance and housekeepers. They use the golf carts to go to the duplexes with their supplies.
Finally we watched the cement truck and a bobcat puring cement in a new sidewalk behind one of the buildings.
When we came into the garage we stopped and talked to one of the maintenance guys. I told him I wasn't getting warm fuzzies from out elevator. It was down and then back up and down again. The firefighters control panel door in the elevator got broken so it is held in place with scotch tape. If that has scotch tape what else in the elevator is held together with scotch. He thanked me for his laugh so early in the morning.
I also told him I noticed that all of maintenance was slammed with work. All of a sudden they have extra loaded onto them for a end of April deadline. He said I was the only person that noticed. They want their stuff fixed no matter how minor. I have a work order on the books. It has been there for a week. When I do a work order I make sure I'm descriptive enough that they know it can wait without saying whenever.
