The wonder of Wednesday is that I "only" have two meetings today and get to hang out at home some by the afternoon. The two meetings, however, are both doozies, I'm afraid. Going to have to be at my most assertive and on my toes.

Had to look on the calendar to see what I have to do. Blessedly, just my regular stuff. Plus Year-End Accounting.

I actually have 3 days in a row with only regular stuff - then it gets insanely busy so I need to finish the accounting by Friday afternoon (Friday night is choir, Saturday a workshop, Sunday is church, potluck, bowling and the church supper, Monday ds might have plans for me, Tuesday is Presbytery all day and evening, Wednesday is another Presbytery meeting and then Thursday the accountant comes.) I'm thinking of driving up to attend my friend's church on the 13th as my reward for surviving all the previous weeks with grace, but it depends on whether or not ds has plans for me. I leave the next morning, insanely early, for my trip to Atlanta.

Twins: I haven't figured out MARTA yet - I can't find a route planner that works (the one Google says it is 2 hours from the airport to Buckhead and I can't see why if there is a train.) Plus the website says the red line only runs to my stop after 7 p.m. I've never seen a train only run at night and not in the daytime. Could your dd shed some light on this? And should I plan for rain (we don't have a car and will be walking a mile each way to the conference)?

OOOOHHH! I forgot to tell all of you that I got funding from the Conference level of the church (our governance goes congregation, charge, presbytery, conference, general council.) So they are paying 1/3 of my airfare and registration fees for my trip to Atlanta! That's the first I've even received funding for something so it makes me feel very official!

Good Morning!

Today is our normal Wednesday schedule - LO lessons, home loving, Library, Lunch, LO nap, pick up DGS17 & DGS15 spend the evening with us, out to eat, church, return older DGS home.

We will also squeeze in a trip to the dentist between nap time and picking up older DGS's.

The wonder for me today is that I'm actually able to go to work (I think). On Sunday night, I was attacked by the mama cat I was fostering, and she bit me quite badly. This necessitated having DH come home from work to drive me to the hospital, much scrubbing with antiseptic sponges, and 10 days of antibiotics. No stitches, fortunately, and mostly to avoid the risk of trapping any infection in the muscle. It seems to be healing alright, but is still very sore Mama cat has, of course, been returned to the facility, and we can only hope that when her 10-day bite hold is up, her kittens will be old enough to eat on their own, because Mama will very likely be put down I was also "lucky" that this happened during my days off, so I didn't have to take any time off work.

Now I need to go get myself dressed, and deal with some litter boxes. Since I "only" have my own pets and two foster adolescent cats now, critter care is fairly light. I will be taking a break from bringing in new fosters for a few weeks.

lucylee, I think at the point of 3rd cousins you have definitely worried too much. If pressed, I could recite quite a few names of third cousins of mine who live near enough to know, or visit here enough to know. However, I'm not sure my children could do it. Anyway, all of them would be too distant, with too many people in between, to warrant worrying about inviting them to a shower unless they were special friends in their own right.

I'm sitting here with a wet head, having just S2Sed a little out of sinc, but otherwise morning routines and school run went well.

A very GOOD friend of dd's warned her at school yesterday that her display project, finally completed the other night, did not have enough sentences (minimum of 3 each) to satisfy the science teacher's sudden requirement on identifying every organelle. (We had the rubric in hand - no mention of this at all but the other student says as the projects were turned in during her class this teacher had been livid about it.) So last night I was painstakingly peeling part of her work away trying not to rip anything. She substituted new documents she had to write in a hurry. Sigh. She also has the extra credit for this assignment, which was to be from one of the fine arts - dance, sculpture, music, etc. She wrote a song about organelles to the tune of "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer" called "Chromasomes Hang Out Inside the Nucleus". If that's not fine art, I don't know what is.

Wonder What I'm doing this Wed.
I have granny duty this afternoon; but it's raining dd was going to help on a roof job so that may have changed dgson will be here after school. On my whole day past lunch time sigh oh well!

We have another showing Sat. at eleven in the morning. H. is needed for clean-up on Fri. again this week at sil's job site. The Realtor never did call maybe that's a blessing! LOL!

My bs is in the #333 range again today oh the joys of hormonal fluctuations this week! Ack! Took my meds. a while ago & Iv'e been sipping black coffee as I coup&e; so I'm thinking it's been enough time I can have my muffin now. [Dgd & I made some yesterday.]

Good morning! Once again Girls Night Out became Girls Night In. I picked up DD10 at XDH's house and we went to the dollar store and bought toys and puzzles, then we went for Chinese take out. We ate at my house then watched Hogans Heroes while working puzzles. I had some bad news. When XDH came to pick up DD, he also looked at the swamp cooler which had quit working. We hoped it had only thrown a belt, but i am in for some repair bills. One broken shaft, needs new bearings, and oiling. XDH could do it but it would take a full day and he does not want to (can't blame him there). My alarm got turned off somehow, but DCat18 woke me up 30 minutes later.

Wednesday, I like to eat at church, but church dinner has been cancelled this week (vacation for the one in charge). I have other house things I should do like pick up and spray weeds and finish the bathtub. Well, in the middle of typing the last sentence, i found out I need to go out of town to pick up something for work. So, I will be back later.

Nancy, here's a story you might enjoy: Once we were selling a house with real estate people. We'd come home in the middle of the night, no time to unpack. Suitcases were open and messy. DD had moved in that weekend and as yet had no chest of drawers, her stuff was in baskets on the floor, not neatly either. Real Estate brought someone in without notice (we had lock box on the door) and customer said it was too messy. Real Estate person called and yelled at us. Yes, yelled. Next time we had to pick a realtor, we did not pick them!

Lucylee, I think your logic sounds perfect about your invitations. Ill people do not need to feel bad about not being able to attend. I thought maybe you could just put a notice on a bulletin board at school to cover anybody there who would feel bad they weren't invited? When I see something like that I never feel obligated to go, but do if I'm close to the people...

Folded laundry first thing today. Cleaned a bathroom. Checked/sorted mail. Picked produce from garden. 2 green peppers were so big they were weighing down the plant! Trying to figure if I have time today to visit someone in a nursing home. I feel bad I've not been there in a while and this lady can no longer get out to church. A friend used to bring her, but she insists on no wheelchair in the sanctuary and can't shift to church chair any more. She also insists on no feet pedals, walks feet instead and she trips herself up and recently fell right out of chair doing that. So, she's not coming any more. Long-time friend.

I hope when I get old(er) and decrepit I won't make it hard for people to be around me.

(Bittersweet) too bad about the cat bite. I'll bet that's sore. Poor cat. If she'd just have stayed calm she'd have been saved.

Oh, Elizabeth, more repair expenses. So sorry.

Forgot to say that my blood results came back (they were on the fax machine yesterday morning) and I'm apparently quite healthy. So, the bleeding has had no measurable effect on my hemoglobin yet.

It also hasn't stopped. The naproxin is driving me nuts, though. I've felt lousy ever since starting it. Bleeding is less for a few hours after each dose but then returns to the previous level. I'll give it another day and then call the doctor again.

All morning I have said let me do this before coming here. Finally I don't have any more of do this-es left.

This is the first day I have been able to go outside without a coat since fall.

I have been puttering and working on the computer all morning.
