SELFISH SATURDAY

Being 'selfish' is not always a good attribute. However, being 'selfish' occasionally would be a good thing. Be good to yourself today -find something that is GOOD for you! Indulge in yourself a little bit from time to time. Research has often shown that women, especially, do not take time to do things for themselves, because we're always so busy thinking/doing for the rest of our family. You deserve it! Be a little 'selfish' today.

NO GUILT -permission granted!

It's a beautiful day out there today! I need to apply BGS and get ready to face it! Been trying many times last night and today to print out the entry application for DS-R for WKA at South Bend, IN in a couple of weeks. Deadline for applications is June 27th and can't seem to get it to print no matter what. Even had someone ele try it on their I pad and on their computer last night. Think it's just the page. DS may just have to call Concord, NC and tell them nobody can get it to print -now what? All I get is "ding, ding, ding" whenever I click on any place on the form -even to "X" out.

It's a pdf form and I can print anything else off their site -just not that. Grrr.....
DH is out doing 'his thing'. He was actually out by 6. He usually is. Sure he's up doing 'cans'.
Dsonil's nuclear stress test now shows no blockage and they believe everything they were getting is due to stress. They've given him another week off as medical. His position is precarious at best.
Need to get busy and take care of 'trailer ooze' as MT puts it.

Good Morning!
Taking care of ourselves is always a good idea.
I have no appointments today! I will still need to be out of the house several times during the day (DParents & MPB) however it feels like a "free" day.
Today's PODA/mini goals -
** Order DGS15 hoodies
** squash processed
** green beans processed
** corn processed
** linksys configuration researched/implemented
** Complete 36 cards

Love your signature line, BTW, Okay! Meant to tell you how happy you sound to be able to work along side of your dh at MPB.
DH is now on the roof washing it. Guess I should follow his example and be kind to myself by being busy! Have a feeling this will lead to washing windows -and I have a lot of them to wash! Think it would be good to hire two dgd's!

We've been a little engrossed in watching one RV (a weekender) which is obviously a FEMA trailer with only ONE small window. How Can they stand it? Good way to start though. How depressing it had to be living in one of those with no light coming in at all. Bless all those who have had to or are living in one because they've been displaced by fire, wind, hail, water, etc.

After work today, I'm heading straight out of town to a Toastmasters party. It's a year-end party for another group, and should be fun. Then I'm off work for three whole days!
So far, those days aren't even jammed full of things to do and places to go
I really should get off this computer and go care for the kittens upstairs. It's a gorgeous day outside, and I'd really rather stay home....but...that just doesn't pay the bills

Excitement this morning is that the POD was delivered already - was supposed to be this afternoon, and he showed up around 8:30 (after trying to call our cell phones.) Dh was worried about whether we could fill up a 16 foot POD - after seeing it, I'm sure we can and will! We can be packing it this next two weeks and then just have it moved to the new house.
I need to get rolling - am done with breakfast.

I've picked up apples that fell in the wind we had yesterday we got some rain last night too. It's cooled things off and is a lovely morning out today. Bs was better today yea for that.
I've also made coffee and swept the leaves and twigs off the driveway. I had some diet cocoa in my coffee no I'm not sharing, while the rest are sleeping! LOL! I'm having a bit of solitude. Me things the grand kids are sleeping in! dgd usually is up around 6 a.m.!
There are a couple of yd. sales in the neighborhood told the grand kids they could go w/ me we'll do that in a bit on my walk.

Dh and I took ddogs for a short walk. Macs and I are out of shape! DH is still talking to a neighbor out in the cu-de-sac, I've watered dogs and they're cooling down. Eighty degrees and 55% humidity here.

Twins - YGG with the POD move!! When DS/DDIL return from their vacation, we will be helping them move next month. DDIL has put together a multi-part moving plan. She has hired a moving company to move the big things (especially up/down stairs). She is having the ladies who normally clean their home each week to use that time to help in the move. And she has obtained a shopping cart and wagon to move all the little things instead of packing them into boxes. They are moving 2 doors down from their current home so packing requirements will be reduced.
So much for my free day. It is filling up fast. DH extended family members are visiting from out of state this week and they have been given very little time by us.

I'm sorry but it is just a matter of priority. DParents needs trumps theirs. It's not that I don't want to spend time with them.....with taking DMom to 3 doctor visits, 2 trips to store for them on top of my regular stuff......I just didn't have the time available when DH visiting family was available this week. ANYway - with a couple of phone calls this morning, a family gathering is in the planning for this evening. The family is going to meet at local italian restaurant we normally go to every time extended family visit here.
In an effort to get 2 birds with one stone....so to speak We will also use this family gathering opportunity to celebrate DGS17 girlfriend birthday. She turns 18 today.
SOooooooo I went to having a sorta free day to putting together a multi-generation family gathering/birthday celebration today.
