“Summertime is always the best of what might be.”
― Charles Bowden
The best of what might be sounds like a worthy goal for the day! We're in the thick of summertime, heat, thunderstorms, picnics, travels to far places and summer vacations; it's all the best!

Starting the day with tears of happiness. It is always wonderful to have a new grandbaby in the village and now we are doubly blessed with two little ones growing up 'side-by-side' here.

Heavy day for me so I'm not sure how much I'll be around. Actually the next three weeks will be very busy. And I suppose they don't get much better when we get back from New York...

Oh well, I'll be popping in here regularly but will try to keep my posting to a minimum except when on the treadmill.

So happy to see the news of a new baby boy!

Got lots of things done the last 2 days. Now have centerpieces for rehearsal dinner. Nothing like waiting 'til the last minute. Today begins the first wave of family members traveling to wedding. More to come on Friday and Saturday. Will be "praying without ceasing" for safe travel for everyone.

Acid reflux is back. Not surprised since stomach is doing flip-flops! Thankful for modern day medicine. I had the constant throat-clearing and coughing for years without knowing what the problem was.

Must keep telling myself we are gaining a daughter, not losing a son. DS is just distracted right now and DH says he will remember "from whence he came" at some point. Hope to look back on this experience as a happy time.

Glad the heat wave is over for most of us.

Good Morning!

So very joyful for Dee's new DGS. Congratulations!!

LucyLee - Congratulations on your cooking/hosting adventure!

Harmony - I hear ya on the DGChildren need for interaction all the time. I don't remember my children needing this constant interaction when they were growing up. I don't know if it is my lack of memory or change in how children minds are in high speed all the time.

I'm drinking coffee and trying to get the UPPPHmmpt to get going this morning. I would much rather go back to bed and sleep. My thoughts are all over the place so I know what the next thing needs to be......Prayer and Bible study.

*POOF*

What a nice thought, Twins' Mom! I'm so glad you got some help from men yesterday. Hope today is productive.

lucylee was smart last evening to note that Dee's grandson shares Mr. Emptynester's bday. I missed that.

Dee, so glad to hear all the good news.

lucylee, that is so cool that you had a meal for them.

Nancy, I know you are glad the dogs will calm down some now.

ellyphant and bittersweet, all best wishes on this middle day of the week leading up to weddings.

I just finished outdoor chores. Dd13 is S2Sing. Today will be Desk Day for my ddad's household. I've started a short grocery list for HRH if he can call from the road later. Need to add an extra load of laundry as my stack of "wash by themselves" has grown.

Would have started along the lines of "Happy Birthday" in honor of Dee's new dgs if my mind had been more together this morning.

This morning have changed mail addresses online, added electricity at new house and called about garbage and recycle service at new house. Also went half of the way to the new house in the rain to open it up for the lady who is installing blinds today before dh called me back to let me know the garage doors of the new house aren't locked, so she can get in that way. She called me yesterday to change time to 10:30 a.m. and I agreed without checking calendar - and I have a pickup here at old house at 11 so couldn't be two places.

Last night dh brought home a casserole dinner for us and then had his massage therapist work me over - felt much more relaxed and "loose" at least until this morning.

I need to apply the BGS and get rolling again. I feel lethargic. Maybe a large iced coffee is in order. I'm not sure where to start now. I have a meeting at temple at 5:30 and need to do some prep at some point this afternoon.

-finish up with kitchen counter clearing
-reboot laundry + fold/sort what's already dry (I am down to the last load in this house.)
-call ReStore for pickup next week
-clear stuff from tables in garage that are about to be picked up

Good Morning and congrats to DEE.

A little shakey and nervous here this a.m. I have a dental appt. in a little over an hour. It will be a fairly long one as he is prepping for 6 veneers and an extraction. When it is all done I will be very happy with my new look. :D

Yesterday morning I woke up with floaters and flashers in my eyes. It paniced me and we drove to Carson to see my little chinese doctor. Not to worry! Nothing unusual for someone my age and I will be having more of them. I really dislike all those little cobwebs in my eyes. I really really like Dr. **. He is so kind and put me at ease. :)

Best go get ready for my big day. Have a nice day all!
