No theme comes to me this morning so I'll just start us out and someone can chime in with a theme that fits the day.

Barely up and still sleepy. I've at least taken my meds -that's a start. I slept fairly well until 1 then up until after 3. Took a benadryl -first in ages. Thus I'm still sleepy, but feeling a little better.

Need to figure out something foodwise to take over to DS-A's & DDIL's later today. Has to be something simple as their meals are so random. I'm thinking rotisserie chicken, a bowl of mashed potatoes and a steamable vegetable. Think dsgd12 can manage those when they're ready to eat. Besides I need a dgs fix.

Want to do something with my hair, but no time.

Talked to gastro dr's office again yesterday asking about paperwork for his colonoscopy. Last week they told me it had gone out late Wed/early Thurs. When I called yesterday they said it went out late Friday. Know there's instructions in there about his prep, possibly a prescription and notes about the meds he's taking.

DH wants to go somewhere for our anniversary next week. Can't even think of anything I want to do at this point in time. Have to start thinking about it.

Off to s2s and get my day started.

Good morning.

There is no place like home. I really liked OKay's theme yesterday. I can't decide one room above the other as far as my favorite room. I love them all except the kitchen. It is okay but not spectacular on the layout.

Interesting thought came to me on Sat afternoon when transporting ddogs to new house - home is where my dogs are. Somehow, leaving the old house with the dogs felt like the transition point to me. It feel comfortable to speak of this house as home now.

In that vein, I'm so happy to be staying home today. No appts out of the house, ds and his friend will be here for heavy moving and I can do some unpacking/settling in. Small vent: Dh keeps bringing things into the house that don't need to be in here. He's afraid of running out of room in the garage, but the solution isn't to put more underfoot inside. I haven't been able to catch up the kitchen table and kitchen counters from the initial rounds of bringing stuff into the house and leaving it on a horizontal surface. Today I'd like to get some of those surfaces into better shape, as well as unpack what we need. I'm also starting a Goodwill box for things that we don't have to keep now.

I started this a long time ago and just now realized I hadn't posted it. So far have cleared the kitchen table and straightened the great room. Also took all the pictures and things for walls and put them in one corner, with one area being the preferred items and the other the less preferred pictures.

Don't think I ever answered yesterday. In the new house it may be the combined great room, kitchen and breakfast area. We have a fabulous view of the sky and mountains - something I'm not used to because we've had trees up closes to the house for so long. (At the old house, we had a winter view of a mountain ridge and some sky.)

Encouraged by progress so far - will continue on kitchen counters. It's hard to balance the unpacking function with the straightening up function. I need to do both but for my sanity I need things somewhat tidy, lol.

It's nice to have my computer up and going - didn't even unpack it until yesterday afternoon. And it's oh so wonderful to have Indiana posting along with us again. She's been "with us" of course, all along but we like to see her on this boards!

Have cleared and wiped down all kitchen counters except for the one toward the back that will probably end up being next to the "junk" drawer. Lots of stuff accumulated there waiting for a home. I also took ddogs for a walk around our circle and added the short little stretch to the entrance to the area. Saw an unfamiliar dog roaming at will while I was out but only Moe noticed him, and he had disappeared when we came back by.

Going to work toward unpacking several boxes next.

Twins glad you took last night off.

H. is on call it's slow at work today so he's watering the front.
I read three fourth's of a book today will try to finish up the last of it.
I am enjoying my current yarn project a triangle shawl in single crochet with odds and ends of yarn making fun colorful stripes love these kind of projects sorry gals no camera.
Black berries are ripe here might be an outting with dgds later one at the water so they can pick n play! Neighbors dogs seem to be better so they are definitely working with them. [sigh of relief over that.] Maybe the black one went to doggie summer camp LOL!
I had some granny duty yesterday afternoon, tomorrow most of the day, today maybe but older dgd may do it if sil is not off work in time.

It's a lovely cool morning out here today.

Just made an appointment with an Ortho Dr. near my daughter's house in MI. It is the same one that DH went to when he broke his wrist.

My knees are giving me fits in this weather here. So I'm hoping they can give me a shot or something to help the pain.

Today is DGD#2's Sweet Sixteen birthday. We are taking everyone out to lunch at the Pizza Buffet. The whole family has VBS this week with dinner included so we are seeing the for lunch each day and then have the afternoon and evening to ourselves.

Yesterday we went with to the youngest 2's swimming lessons. Then I did a load of laundry while we ate lunch. We are having a very good visit with DGD's even talking to us. They are all quite shy and since we don't see them often they sometimes don't talk to us.

That's about all I know from this neck of the woods. Glad Twins is in her new house. Boy that seemed quick from the time you broke ground until you moved in. Probably not for you tho.

I think that dh needs a coffee cup intervention - something has to give! I let a few go before we moved but we are overstocked - he picks them up as souvenirs and also gets them at trade shows as promotional items. I may need a vase intervention, but OTOH, I do use most of them. I like having a selection - sometime just a few fern fronds are nice in several small vases.

I unpacked several more boxes but unfortunately, kitchen counters filled up again. I try to figure out a logical place for things - coffee cups, filters etc, near coffee maker, drink glasses and plates, etc. near the sink and dishwasher. DH had unloaded some "extra" plates for larger groups that I had forgotten we own on the bottom level of the overhead cabinets - that's prime real estate. OTOH, they are unpacked so I can't complain!

I also watered some plants and moved to the back porch. Our ferns are going to be in shock here...

It seems quick to me also. Twins, I'm glad it is feeling like home to you now.

MT, sorry for the sore knees. Wonder how Lilac's knees are feeling today.

I am doing paperwork with DH. Work has definitely picked up. Not big jobs but a lot of bids on stuff and small jobs in between. I am very thankful.

Got kitchen cleaned up. I stayed up a bit last eve. and worked on paperwork. I may duck out to tag office and bank later. It's grey out (nice and calming) and it's been raining. I'm loving all this rain we've been having. With so much of the country in drought, I'm extra thankful.

Never answered the house question yesterday. My favorite room (this is weird I know) is our tiny bathroom off the office. It has white beadboard on the walls, a small pedestal sink and toilet. The shower is a purple-ish light blue tile and the walls match. I just like the way it looks! Of course I love my front porch with the 4 chairs out there...and I like the way my family room has trees to see from every window. I spent about 15 years in a place with no trees, the last place did have a grapefruit and one other, but definitely not wooded. In florida, with no trees there is no shade and it's hot and glarey-looking. I feel more peaceful here.
