Magical Monday

Instead of Manic Monday, which I seem to think of every week.

We all could use a little magic, whether a house fairy visit, or a "Bewitched" nose twitch or an extra large dose of good luck in dealing with all that Monday brings.

I need a little magic to get me out of this chair and getting ready to head to the hospital. DH has to be there at 9:30. He's out doing whatever he does early in the morning.

Could swear I heard thunder earlier but it's very sunny right now. Know we do have chance of rain today. It would be welcome!

Let's hope for a Magical Monday for me. When going to bed last night I started thinking too much and I really do have an extra busy day going for today. I had to take a benydryl to sleep.

PODA:
-phone calls, a list of which dh has provided
-write for temple bulletin (not done yesterday)
-temple spreadsheet, which I rushed through last Thurs and then realized I had done incorrectly
-dcleaning lady here today
-dr appt today 2:45
-order vacuum cleaner bags
-what else?

Dh worked out this morning and just showed back up at home to s2s here.

Whoops, forgot to post this earlier - have taken ddogs out for twice around our circle and having breakfast now.

I finally thought of a way to save water - shower with dh. Except he takes navy showers so that doesn't actually save any water. I guess I'll start taking navy showers too and clean the tub the old fashioned way rather than while I'm actually in the shower, letting the water run over my back.

Aside from that, the only other thing I could do is take the laundry into the city where there are no restrictions (different water source.)

A few years ago, I worked it out and my dishwasher actually uses the same amount of water as hand washing if I run water too much to rinse things before putting them into the DW to sit for 2+ days while I await a full load. Obviously I use less electricity washing by hand since I don't heat the water (which my DW does) and my elbow grease doesn't use electricity unlike the motor on the DW. Which is why I prefer to wash dishes by hand (plus the whole Zen thing I get.)

Lucylee The world has been pretty disappointing this summer so if your dh is following news (even just radio news) it is likely to affect his reaction to the little stuff that is happening in his life. After all, the general feeling in the media is that we are heading to HEdoublehockeysticks in a hand basket. So anything going wrong at home only deepens that sense on a personal level. I've basically stopped reading the papers and am listening to very little news on the radio at least beyond headlines. We don't have cable so don't do 24 hour news channels and simply don't watch the evening news unless something has happened that we want to see the visuals of. Even so, you can't but help notice our drought and feel the heat so even things that I don't hear about on the news I know are happening.

Finally got my blog posted for Saturday.

Yesterday was up and down all day. REALLY sick in the morning - but got it together long enough to go to church to hear DD#2 sing. That was our whole purpose for getting here on Saturday.

Then lounged around her house with tea and toast to calm my tummy. (Dee - I thought of your DH and his prep as I was as ready as he was - Sorry TMI)

Watched the puppies - several of them are starting to walk instead of "swim" across the box. Well, until they do a nose dive or fall sideways. Blaze is a wonderful mother - keeping them so clean and shiny. Much different from other female that (we now know) was sick after whelping. This one is healthy and much better at the job.

We are in a wonderful little hidden spot away from everyone. We are right next to the woods and I can watch the birds collecting bugs and feel like we are 100 miles from anyone. You can see pictures of our "nest" on my blog.

It is time to head to DD#2's house for a shower (we don't have a water or sewer hookup here - but can survive) and some of the great scones her DH baked. TTFN

My mood about a showing is better so that seems magical! I was reminded by a gal at church when I did a garden party for that group of ladies so I'm sort of pretending I'm getting ready for some thing like that it's making it much more fun! The place needs cleaned any way. Six more weeks we keep telling our selves we can do this!

Good morning I'm up and around I've picked up the apples and started the coffee. The showing is at 4:15 ish today. I've been working at getting things ready for that. The deck is staged. H. got the patio and carport ready last evening. Not to happy about missing one of his fishing shows to do that. I still need to mow but can't do that that for a while it's too early.
It's been windy in the night here and the winds just died down. H. is on call today so far any way.

I need to sweep and mop upstairs and the stairway to the basement. done glad I'm making progress yea for that! It feels good. Q.T. now I just have noisey stuff left so will wait a bit on those. The timing is good no granny duty so I can focus on the house. It was due and with the call last week I was half expecting it so this weekend we have been plugging away at some things around here just in case.

Way to go every one on your progress!

Lucy L. I was feeling puny the other day it effected my mood I think I'd had too much of the heat. Plus I had an upset tummy it was not a fun day for me.

I was able to get all the meds set up for the next week. Our supply was here waiting for us, as they sent it to DD#2's house for us. I have all the caps marked with who it is for and if AM or PM so I just put the old caps on the new bottles and I'm set for the next 3 months.

Time to go to DD's for shower. No water here so we shower at her house.

Cleaning lady is here and is making a difference, and someone brought by our new city garbage can.

I've written the bulletin article and sent to rabbi for comments, and to bulletin editor and other for comments. Going to go ahead and work on Excel worksheet to stay out of her way.

And later....done with spreadsheet and it has been emailed. I guess I need to work on dh's li%t of DPCs?

I've s2s after working out and have had my breakfast. My hair is awfully wavy because I air dried it. What a difference this cut is making on how it looks when it air dries! I finished off the last of the dampness by brushing it outside in the sun.

I've written a thank you note and done some email culling in my main box. Not a lot, I'm under 500 now. In June, I believe I was at 200 so I've lost progress.

Brought in the garbage can (two more things are still out at the curb) and folded up 7 compost bin liners so I have enough to last 2 more weeks. I'll have to fold more next week and get ahead of things a bit. I fold them out of newspaper and it gets my hands all inky so I like to do a large batch at a time.

Am visiting my bosom buddy in 30 minutes so need to accomplish one more thing before we leave. Dh is still eating his breakfast. Yes, we are in the eastern time zone!
