Get in the 'swing' and make the most of today. May it be a wonderful day for all of us.
For those getting ready/or already traveling, happy trails and nothing but good things on your journey.
I'm easing into my day. DD is focusing on getting things cleaned and ready to head home so will not be interrupting her this morning.
I need to do a LOL but have pretty well decided that later in the day is better for me. Rather than taking up my whole morning -well over 90 minutes (that's what it takes to wash & dry a load).
Think we're having dinner together at dd's tonight. Had planned a dinner for last night but a friend from the campground made us all a chicken parm dinner. Yum, yum. He's always bringing us something -loves to cook.
Sky to south looks very stormy, but it's not supposed to rain. Though it is supposed to be 90 today and 94 tomorrow. We've had an unusual amount of 90 and 80 days this summer. DH was supposed to golf this morning but it got cancelled. Think I'm glad it did.
I'm just ramblin' this morning so guess I'll go do something productive -like s2s?

What can you do today to make the weekend a little easier sailing? Know for me it would be getting the laundry done so I can start afresh. FORE!
Been thinking about getting dh his own color cards. Just trying to decide what color to get (will probably need to go to a stationery/office store). I want something that when he sees that particular color laying on the table/counter his eyes will immediately be drawn. Wonder how many dhs are 'she' at heart? The more he has to do and the older he gets, the more distracted he becomes. (Like we NEVER are!

)
BGS applied, but it may take it a few minutes to start working.

Good Morning!
I'm late getting started today. Stayed too late visiting at DParents last night and didn't get into bed on time. LO woke me up during the night with an owie hurting on his thigh (heat related). After getting him fixed up he wanted to snuggle before returning to sleep. All-in-all I was awake for less than an hour, but I'm using that as my excuse for being late this morning.
DDad has reached a point that he can't talk when he has a "melt down". He can only bang on something to get attention that he needs help. DMom runs and gives him morphine in mouth which immediately relaxes his body and lets him start breathing again. This happened twice yesterday. DMom and DDad know each hour is a gift and are strong in their faith. They always have a smile on their face and welcome everyone into their home as if they were the most important person on the earth. I hope someday I can be like them.
This morning DGS17, DGS15 and I will team up to create backhoe cake. I'm sure everyone will be glad for me to hush about this cake!
This evening the FNG met in our home so will need to move furniture around to make room for everyone to have a place to sit in the dining room.
DSon and family are coming to visit this weekend. Not sure when they will be arriving.
checking his calendar..... and see he is in Philadelphia today.... Hum....my guess is they will travel here tomorrow instead of tonight. Either way is fine with us.

Good morning. Mother nature is hitting me with both barrels today - air quality is unhealthy, humidity, high concentration of mold pollen and hot. I will put up my shield and fight it.

I have been watching bits and pieces of the Olympics, Gabby's performance, men's floor exercise and the men's swimming.
Gabby was perfect, the men's floor exercise showed the strength they have and the simming - the gold.

Dh was up and down in the night with a bad tooth - I don't know whether it's just sensitive like the area I have, or an abscess or something else. His dentist is closed today but he's trying to get in touch to see if he take emergencies or has someone on call. Ddogs got me up early and I was strongly considering going back to bed but builder was supposed to have someone by here at 8 to take care of a few lingering details on the house. I've already walked the ddogs their mile.
It didn't occur to me that dd would be so upset about coming "home" to the new house. She was okay the first hour or so but then fell apart. I know that being tired and the let down/relief of camp being over had something to do with it. We ended up looking online at new sheets/comforter she could choose to make room her own. I tucked her in about 10:30 (just like when she was little!) and slept after that with the help of some benydryl. I cried with her for most of the evening because she was so distraught.
I still feel weepy this morning. I've been weepy anyway with the temple stresses. I'm not getting very far with getting the house pulled together and that is getting to me, too. Now dd being home for a couple of weeks will upset the applecart again.
Looking for a better day today - I was dead tired last night from the drive too. No appts except for the work on the house (no one here yet

) and going to temple and the dinner at temple tonight. I may suggest that dd go to temple early to help with the cooking and to keep her busy.
Maybe I'll give myself a little sleep right now...if someone rings doorbell ddogs will be all over it....

(whispering) The approach to the 18th hole is a dogleg left and the wind has died down... ...
Just read (yes in my new book from Dr. Sears) that golf is good for ears, because it is one of the quiet activities that gives ears a break from the usual noisy world, and allows the vibrating structures in the ears to slow down and rest.
Shields up, Indiana.
Gee, this is exciting, OKay! This episode of Cake Boss should be titled "Teen Challenge - the Backhoe Story"
Today is Desk Day for both households.

(((Twins and dd))), change can be so hard sometimes, even if it's a good change.
Twins, I too have felt so mopey lately. The thing is I don't even know why.
Harriet, turns out that dh had done something with the printer and needed to restart his computer afterwards and he didn't, so that caused the problem. So that is taken care of.
Indiana, take care of yourself today.
This afternoon dd2 is going to neighboring town to promote her business, at some kind of event. The boys go back to their dads today. Dgd16 and her boyfriend are going with dd2. The 2 little girls will be in daycare. Dd2 will leave her car here because of the carseats and I will pick them up at daycare and keep them until dsonil picks them up. They will be taking dgd16 car to the event.
Much to dhs surprise, dd2 has painted for 8 days and I have yet to pick up a paint brush. It was not my idea for her to start this business and I never offered to help in any way. I am really keeping my distance because I don't want to be sucked in to helping when I have my own things that need done. I really worry about this business and the money involved. By the time she pays rent, utilties and babysitter every month which is at least $2500.00 off of the top. Yikes, it scares me. Now with the drought and all, her dh is worried about his cattle business. Feed is getting more expensive and hard to come by, but if he sells out he knows it will be too hard to get back into business later. She stews about this and I just want to shake her and tell her that if she hadn't been so determined to open a business, that maybe they wouldn't have so many worries. Because if she doesn't make enough, he will have to be footing her bills. You can't tell her anything when she makes up her mind to do something and I know better than to waste my breath.
I need to color my hair. Tuesday I went to the guy who does dd2 hair, since my gal is on maternity leave. He cuts your hair dry and doesn't style it because he doesn't believe in blow drying hair. He is an older C hinese man and very sweet. I probably won't go back though, because on the left side, there is a chunk of hair that is very short. On the right side, the layers are longer, not the length. I have had to whack on it to improve it. At least I paid half of what I usually pay.
I need to buy groceries today and haven't made a list yet.
Okay, good luck on the cake.
Dee, did your dd decide to just pick up dgd at camp and head home from there?
Guess I better get started. Ya think??????

Ok, I have a question of 'how to'. I inadvertently must have hit 'save to draft' on my last post. How, oh how, do I retrieve it? Can't seem to find any place to click to get it back.
No, Lilac, dd is not going on to FL when she picks up gd14 tomorrow. She's coming back here for a few days. I guess she will be watching what's happening with Ernesto, but I think it might be over by the time she heads south on Wednesday. We're all supposed to get together on Tuesday night here for dinner. She is quite obviously becoming more sad as the time goes on.

Yes it is Friday. Yes I am behind in everything.
Yesterday I headed out to run errands. Went to 3 banks, 2 offices at county building (at 1 I found out our county now has another $50.00 fee they never had before

) and I stopped for a quick second at library in the same block as the last bank. Got a gift card, another stop for greeting cards and post office to mail one. I went into W-M for lunch fixins' and ran into the wife of our friend who died about a month ago. Very emotional time with her as she described how reality has finally hit and how difficult life is now. We must have stood and talked an hour.
By this time I was so tired I really worried how I would get checked out and get myself home without a sit-down rest somewhere. I'm unhappy to think I will have to stretch out my errands in the future and not be out so long at one time. I don't like this getting old stuff.
DSisilaw was here this AM to pick up some unused diving equipment and we chatted for a bit. She was asking me why DH doesn't go on disability and quit working, saying (in her words) "he's a mess, I'm sure he qualifies". Now if that isn't distressing to hear, even if I think it often.
My house is a pit. I've got sheets washing, and some papers dealt with.
DD2 had business/employee emergency situation yesterday which we discussed on the phone a lot. I think all the stuff on my mind these days is making any progress difficult for me. I had a call from lady who is in charge of funerals and another man has died (he was a row buddy in our church) and she asked me to help with small luncheon Sat. I need to make a platter of cookies to take.
I will see just what I can accomplish. My hands are in awful shape with my eczema / dermatitis and I am medicating but it isn't working. Think raw and sore. I bought another pair of rubber gloves that fit better. I must stay out of soapy water. Always gets worse when I am stressed.
Well, with all that happy news, I will go off and try to get something accomplished.
Greetings to everyone! Oh Dee, I've done the same thing, but with preview and never could find the post...happened a long time ago. I hope someone has the answer!
