In an attempt to not spread my malaise to the rest of the village, I've refrained from calling this Stormy Sunday or Sick Sunday.

Dee and I are due to get desperately needed rain so we'll accept storms cheerily if they bring precipitation.

And I'm sick.

I'll concentrate on 15's when I get back from church. For now, I'm working with all my might to get off to church. I'm a reader. Although if I don't feel stronger after having my tea, I might get dh to read in my place. He's playing all the music.

I have such a low temp, it could just be the heat but it is 1.3 degrees above normal. And my tummy and core ache. And I have no energy. And nothing makes me feel better, not advil, tylenol, rest, movement (won't try to exercise.) Eating makes my tummy worse.

I slept 9 hours last night and woke up feeling refreshed. LO is still sleeping so even though I slept late, I'm enjoying a cup of coffee in the quiet morning before the day starts.

After church we are taking the 3 boys to meet DD for a late lunch. This will be the first time DGS17 has seen DD since 2008. I pray this is an uneventful meal.

I'm late getting in the shower... still bothered w/allergy trouble... and now, depressed b/c (of course) my weight is up after my 3 day-binge in Atlanta. * drat * drat * drat *

Today I'm up picked up apples and while I was out saw a deer and fawn across the way that was special. Made coffee that's about all trying to get in gear now, not into much it's supposed to be hot [103*] today here. So not much on the docket. Next up breakfast. 71* is the over night low tonight so it's not going to cool off much.

Lots I need to do today but all I want right now is a nap! I have a headache going; took ibuprofen and may nap to see if I can vanquish it. Dh is feeling only a little better he says, but I can tell he's better because he's all over what I need to do today.... DD has already left to go for a pedicure with her camp friend and ds and Z are up and about. DDogs have had their walk and all is quiet.

Good morning dear villagers! I am enjoying a much cooler weekend. The temp was 58 when I woke up this morning. Makes me think that autumn is on the horizon. I've actually been able to spend some time outside my air-conditioned bedroom. My two purrkids are also enjoying the respite.

Not very much to report. Keeping on keeping on, I guess. My dmother has had a health scare. Not sure of the outcome, but she is very much OK with however it turns out. As for me, I guess you are never ready to think about losing your mother, even if she is 93.

Twins' - I hope when you awaken, your headache is gone!
Nancy - How neat to see deer. We have many deer, but I don't get to see them too often. I guess I don't spend enough time in the country.
lucylee - How is that attitude? Sure hope you can get on top of the allergies. Not fun.
OKay - Praying for your dgs's meeting with your dd. Also praying that the fires are contained and extinguished.
Kathryn - Your description sounds like I felt yesterday. Maybe it's a bug. I do feel better today, & I wish the same for you.

Well, I promised myself I would do some housework while the temp is cooler. It is supposed to be hotter tomorrow & Tuesday, so today is the day. Best get to it!

Hello Dear Ladies,

Got back to home to Oklahoma about 10:00 last night. Was greeted by smoke and downpour of rain, was a little difficult to drive in. Tractor trailer ended up flipping over. But I won’t complain about the rain. We both saw smoke and could see it as we entered the state.

On exiting the turnpike for our town, we saw smoke billowing in the sky and as we got closer we found ashes falling into the road. There was a fire somewhere behind our Wal-mart. Praying it has been contained.

Wanted to share a few highlights of the trip. The trip to NY was quite enjoyable. We stopped at one the rest stops in Missouri and had our lunch. I felt a bit overwhelmed with the traffic going through St. Louis. We had a route change there and I was so thankful for the GPS as it told us to keep left, keep right. I don’t think I could have pulled it off so smoothly if I had to spread out a road map like the old days and figure out what lane we needed to be in.

Illinois and Indiana went smoothly. We wanted to get to Ohio and spend the night there. Dson-22 wanted to meet one of his gaming friends the next day for lunch. We finally made it to Dayton about 11:00. We stayed at one of those lodging places with the number six in the name, the one where Tom says he keeps the lights on. It was simple but fine for one night. We had side by side connecting room so it was easy for us to see each other without going outside.

The next day we stopped at a grocery store for some supplies and then went in search of Dson’s friend. Once again the GPS was so wonderful as it led us off the interstate and into the single lane highways of small towns. I enjoyed getting off the fast lanes for a time.

Dson’s friend felt like he knew us all as Dson plays in our family room and has microphone and headphones on as he plays. The microphone picks up our conversations as we are talking to each other. We laughed a lot, especially over one time when we were at the table looking and cutting up coupons and his friend was listening to us. He said he had never heard the word coupon so much. He liked being able to put faces with voices and names.

We left there and seemed to drive endlessly through Ohio, finally reaching NY about seven that evening and everyone agreed we wanted to stop and rest. Our room in Herkimer NY wouldn’t be ready for us until 3:00 Sunday afternoon. So we called and called but there were no rooms available and we kept driving. Why is NY so busy on a Saturday night I asked. People just flock there. Pulled over to a restaurant on the Thruway where we looked through a travel magazine and called some more. Finally found a place with one room available. At this point we were so tired, the sons were saying they didn’t care how they had to sleep, they just wanted a place that had a bathroom and place to lay down.

This was not a nice place, the bed were so jiggly and small. It felt like sleeping on jello or a trampoline. I thought I was going to fall out of bed every time DH turned over. They had put a large toilet in a very small space that you couldn’t even set on it correctly. But the place was filled. The desk clerk, who I believe was the owner too, said her place was filled every weekend with people even sleeping in her parking lot. Just don’t see the attraction.

At this point we were a little over 100 miles from Herkimer. The next day we took our time, searching on the GPS for a chain restaurant that the sons liked. They had upset stomachs and figured the chain restaurant would have something familiar to their systems. So we got off the Thruway and wandered through some small towns again.

Back on the road again, we headed toward Herkimer. When coming into the Mohawk Vally, the scenery looked beautiful with the hills all around us. I had missed that view for so many years. DH and Dsons wanted to clean up before meeting Daunt Betty so we wandered through Walmart and I picked up a small plant for her.

Finally time for our room to be ready and I held my breath after the room we had the night before. But it was so lovely. DH and Dsons said I had done alright and they all hugged me. We had a suite of rooms with a kitchen area.

Will write more later as people are stirring here and I need to run to Walmart.

Ohhh... sooo glad you're home safe & the trip went so well, Sadie!!! Can't wait to hear the rest of the details.

Nancy... such a peaceful image in my mind -- the apples, the deer, the fawn... the smell of coffee (I don't drink it, but love to smell it, LOL!)

My attitude? Hmmm... well... the devil is certainly throwing plenty in my way to test me. DH is just in a foul mood all around... ddil said "not today" when he asked if they were taking dgs to the nursing home to meet dgaunt. * sigh * They have been SAYING they would... and dh keeps telling daunt they WILL... and he says he is tired of lying to her. Now he says next time we babysit, he is taking dgs himself. * sigh * That might not go over well w/ddil & ds, either... so I'm just praying about this one.
Also praying about finding time to visit dparents... * sigh *

Dh is going to watch a movie with me this afternoon. We got 11 mm of rain after church (that's just over 1/3") but there's no more on the radar for a while. And the winds have calmed down.

I made it to church but was weak throughout. The reading was swapped but that was ok since I had already checked it out once and it was a shorter reading. So I did ok in my part. Dh did great with the music and the leader chose a nice sermon to read (the minister is away and I'm not preaching cuz they don't pay and I shouldn't work for free.)

I need to send out an email or phone people about cookies. I need to make at least 3 dozen cookies but have no eggs. Plus I've been waiting for a cool day, although that doesn't seem likely in the near future.

The bedroom is 5 degrees hotter than the rest of the house and a bit hotter than outside, so I've shut the door and opened the windows in there. If a cold front comes through, hopefully, I'll catch it. We are running the a/c today because I'm sick and figure heat has something to do with it.

I've not felt well for the past 12 days now; it started the day we left for Concord, NH, and I've never regained my vigor even though my symptoms keep changing. I have managed to keep up with the 3 Ds (if that's dinner, duds and dishes, if the third one is dailies then, I haven't.) In fact, there's a load of laundry sitting in the washer right now - I popped it on before church because the sun was out but it is too threatening now to bother hanging outside so I must hang it inside. I just don't want to because adding humidity to the house seems like a bad idea.
