Wednesday Whirlwind

Perhaps the whole day need not be a 'whirlwind', but is there 1 thing you can do today & be that 'whirlwind'?
Hopefully Kathryn will feel enough better today to be a whirlwind at some very little thing -like just getting up will be good.
Awoke thinking about dIndiana this morning.
DDIL said at dd's last night that she might need my help with something. What WAS it?

There was so much going on there last night that I remember bits & pieces of lots of things but not always enough to put it all together.

DGD17 was allowed to spend the night last night and that worked out well (for me). She stayed at DS-R's & DDIL's. DDIL had to leave at 6:45 for a Breast Cancer breakfast and then she has the rest of the day off. By dgd17 staying the night I won't have to go over there this morning. Actually she had several offers last night to keep dgs7 here and there for the rest of the summer. That will free us up some. As the kids say, "sweet!". Not that I don't want to, but a break now and then will be nice. Especially since dh is only working 4 days/week now. We do have plans to go away for a couple of days and I didn't think we'd be able to do that until school started.
Dh went over to move dd's MH and it was dead, dead, dead! He was a little disgruntled about that. He wants to get it moved so the mowers can do that spot this morning. Phone call(s) interruption here.

Had calls going back & forth between dh/me, me/dd, dh/me, dd/me, dh/me.

DD said she left about 4a.m. and is south of Erie, PA. Stopped & dozed for about an hour at PA welcome center. She just wanted to get through Buffalo before rush hour. DH not only could not get the MH started & was sure dd had NOT started it, but he also could not get the 12-volt lights to work. DD was befuddled since she started it right up Sunday & ran it for about 10 minutes. DDIL is coming back from her breakfast & cleaning out the fridge, taking the chairs and bikes up to their site.
Got to hold dgs1month for quite a while last night. He dozed most of the evening. When he'd get a little fussy ddil was able to put him right back to sleep & someone else would hold him.
Think I may have mentioned that ddil received a letter from the hospital asking her to bring dbaby back in for tests. Seems that they failed to do something. We all thought he seemed too healthy for anything to be wrong. Relief for all.
Must get dressed & head up to the laundry room at long last. I now have 2 loads of whites -but may only get 1 done today. Thinking on it. The dryers are quite large (incomparable to size of washers) so may do 2 loads & dry in 1.

We were so tired that we went to bed at 7:30 last night. It was really 8:30 from when we got up as we had crossed a time zone. I slept until almost 6 this morning.
We don't have to leave here until noon and have only 62 miles to go today, so we are going to have a leisurely morning. We need to dump the storage tanks, but we have a full hook-up site so first we will take a nice, long hot shower. Then we will rinse the tanks well before we leave.
We will be sitting for about 3 weeks at our church camp - but we have a full hook-up there so shouldn't have to worry about the tanks.

Celebrate b/c !!!! Its National Leave a Zucchini on Your Neighbor's Porch Day! So hurrying to do that might be a good idea except I"m out so I'd love a yellow one from the neighbors down the way! LOL!
Smokey here as a combine started a fire yesterday on the pass west of us and smoke blew in here. I can smell it in the house as I left clothes out to dry

I was not thinking! Go figure.
Having some morning coffee. I'll be doing inside exercise today as my foot / ankle was acting up yesterday or I"ll have to take a walking stick with me. [It's from an old injury sprain when I was a kid. I had to wear high top tennis shoes before it was "cool". ]

Off to see my new dentist this morning. I know he'll find lots to do to my teeth. Will run errands in that direction, also.
Been sort of paralyzed with indecision about what to do first around the house. Pull weeds, clean decks, continue stripping wallpaper, small paint jobs,...going to just start somewhere when I get back today. Will report back having done something...hopefully!

Elly - when we moved into our new (to us) house last November, we let the weather decide. If it was good to work outside, we did. It was a priority as it had been neglected for so long. If the weather wasn't good for outside - we worked inside. Mostly for unpacking as that took me all winter.
This winter, I'm hoping to get some painting done and the bathroom remodeled. I would like to do the kitchen and get new more energy efficient stove and fridge, but we will see what the budget says.
Had a nice, long, hot shower and am waiting for DH to finish breakfast to do the same. Then we will head down the road - only since we are traveling north - I guess it is up the road.

Good Morning!
Whirlwinds were here for real yesterday! Also dust devils, landspouts, microburst, spectacular lightning/thunderstorm and GLORIOUS RAIN!!! Although we only receive about 1/2", every drop of it was WONDERFUL! We went from 106 degrees to 84 degrees in 30 minutes. Lightening started two grass fires about 10 miles in different directions from us that took several hours to put out. One of the microburst took out about 2 miles of electric poles near us. We were without power for about 12 hours (4pm - 4am). Police blocked off the nearby road while the electrical linemen scrambled to rebuild the electrical system. All is well now.

Oh how I remember those high tops, Nancy. Everyone had to wear them for phys ed. I don't think I had them very much from 4th grade on as I couldn't take phys ed because of multiple bouts with rheumatic fever. (Which resulted in Dr. telling me NOT to have children -I almost listened to him -5 kids later

)
There! My 'whirlwind' was getting all the dishes done! I offered to bring all the dishes home from dd's last night so she wouldn't be up even later trying to clean up that mess. (Someone remind me next year to do this in one of the pavilions!) There was a lot of cleaning up it seemed. There were 19 of us there (including dbaby). Some were friends dd has made here over the past few years. (6). At any rate I had a lot of cooking pots/pans/serving utensils/bowls/containers. Plus my own dishes, but they're all done now and drying via mother nature. Want to get her things back in the MH before dh moves it later.
We also have an electric ice maker at dd's that needs to go over to DS-R's. Need to remember to be sure it's propped open with something this winter however. It was a tad moldy this spring.
DH finally figured out that it was a loose battery connection on dd's MH -thus it wouldn't start. Don't think he really believed (at first) that dd had started it up only Sunday. Does now.
Glad you have power, Okay!
Think I'm supposed to go pick up dgd12 for the day later. Have to check with ddils. Imagine they'll all go swimming.

Rain, wonderful Rain, OKay! I hope this breaks the cycle and you continue to get rain. We had a long stretch earlier in the summer w/o rain and once it started we had rain for several days.
Trying to GMAT for today. Need to do a OMM list and figure out the day as I'm feeling scattered, like Elly!
Back soon.

Have a LOL in the cart & think I'll head over that way to get it twirling.
So glad to hear you have at least some precipitation, Okay. What a difference some has made here. Actually it rained almost an inch on Sunday.
I think that DS-A's box of pictures is under our bed. Need dh to lift the bed so I can check. Want to find baby pictures to compare to dbaby1month. Think he's looking more like a V---- every day.
Off to be a 'whirlwind' along the drive and laundry room.
