FARING ? FRIDAY

How are you faring today? I'm still kinda 'numb' but working it out, while missing Indiana in l ots of ways. Had thought we'd meet up with her again this fall when we go to IN.
I actually slept all night until 5:30. But I was also exhausted last night for some reason.
Have to soon get ready for our excursion today. Now I'm not sure I really want to go, but I've already commited so>>>>>>>>>>
Got to hold dgs for just a few minutes last night. Hard to believe he's 6 weeks already. Cuter as the days go by (of course). They're planning to go to Gettysburg Monday for a couple of days. DGS12 is a civil war buff and dsgd12 failed her tests in that subject last year -so they figure they'll take her there and dgs12 will enjoy it regardless.
I really need to get myself in gear and start getting ready. One step at a time!

Indiana is still on my mind today, too. I am going to temple tonight to say kaddish for her.
Yesterday was nonstop. I looked in but didn't post. We didn't go to the concert on Wednesday night because my tummy was upset in the afternoon Wednesday. So yesterday I met with the rabbi, then on to work, left work at three and ran errands (home for cleaning supplies, back to old house, picked up salmon, groceries, gassed my car and back home) and our old dneighbor was over for dinner last night, arriving only 45 minutes after I got home. We had grilled salmon (dh) salad, couscous and cookies for dessert. When she left, I walked the dogs and went to bed!
I did well making a li%t yesterday - also managed to mail a package from work, call for a haircut appointment, can't remember what else.
Going to take ddogs for their walk now.

From late posts last night:
Elizabeth: I was confused about the comet picture for a bit then realized you meant the car not the celestial body! Suddenly, things were clear in my mind!
Lilac: Actually, your dh doesn't sound anal to me at all. The garage sounds like it will be amazing. I can picture it clearly in my mind. Only one wall of our garage has drywall, but I painted it white and bought some storage cupboards for it one year to clean it up. We have a few decorative touches (snow shoes hung artistically, same with an old lantern plus our old license plates.) Dh likes an organized garage, not because he works out there, but the visual clutter when he drove in was bugging him. We bought the floor mats that Co stco sells because our concrete floor was starting to deteriorate and we love them. Makes the garage look a lot cleaner and they sweep up easily (but they stain here with the road salt so they aren't pristine, just much nicer than a concrete floor.) Best of all, when one of the cars was leaking fluid, the fluid pooled on the mat so we could tell the colour and knew it wasn't AC condensation so the car was attended to much more quickly.
Our garage is nothing like yours, nor never will be, but it is a lot nicer than 80% of the garages around here, where people fill them up with junk and then keep their $40K cars out in the elements. Makes no sense to me. Now that we are a one car family it is even better; car on one side, the bikes and wheel barrow on the other so they are ready to be used at a moment's notice (I weed directly into the wheelbarrow to speed cleanup time after.)

I'm up. I'm waking at 5:30 each day now. Slept better last night because I put some eucalyptus oil under my nose to clear my sinuses since I can't take allergy meds. The roof of my mouth was itching badly from my allergies when I went to bed. When I woke up, my throat wasn't sore from being dry so I obviously breathed more through my nose last night. The canker sores that came over the weekend are almost gone too (I think they came from the area between my lips and my teeth getting dry from mouth breathing and then chaffing on my night guard.)
I've had my tea and unloaded the dishwasher. Ran the washer. The weather turned out nice so I have our fine washables to hang outside.
I need to have my breakfast quickly and then s2s before hanging things up. By then, it will be time for my morning nap.

Indiana is still on my mind too.
True confessions: I am faring only mediocre w/ so much of my family out of town. Mainly, I have been courting bad habits which I need to stop, slowly melting into that blob of undisciplined non-productivity. LOL! I have not gotten to any of the projects that are on my li&t. I have started eating ice cream every night. I discovered Dr. Phil online yesterday and watched a couple episodes. I'd never seen the show before, but It made me want to hug all my friends and family and thank them for being generally functional people. Where do they find these people?? Hmmm......I don't think I'm a fan of Dr. Phil.
Well, Wednesday was pretty busy w/ meetings/errands nonstop from 8 - 3. Yesterday could have been more productive. I did get a couple errands done and made dinner for dfriends S and R who were here for dinner.
SO, I'd like to start working on changing those habits. That is what I like about a new day -- I get a fresh start! Thus, I am getting out for a jog first thing this morning. I may skip WW meeting b/c I'm sure I've gained -- I know, bad reason to skip. The funeral for the girl16 at our church is at 1:30; I'll go to the visitation a little earlier. This evening, I'm going to a potluck at a friend's house.

Helia: I can identify with your family gone, turning into an unproductive blob, comment. Happens to me too. I also don't like Dr. Phil. I used to but he's gone too soft and too shock-oriented (I watched a show while bedridden and one was enough, although it was one show that didn't add to my nausea by talking about food all the time.)
Praise Report
Got distracted earlier and forgot the reason I was going to post was to say my blood work is in from yesterday. Great numbers! My liver enzymes are down to 2 - 3x normal (from 25x normal just 2.5 weeks ago and 10x last week.)

So glad to have more good news, Kathryn!
Ddogs and I walked 1.3 miles. I also stopped to talk to the landscape/irrigation guy who was working at an about to be finished home and he came over and adjusted our sprinklers back on. I think dh had accidently turned them off and we had a large shrub looking stressed.
A guy is here now checking our tankless hot water heater.
And I just remembered - joy of joys! that I need to call a temple member back this morning. She probably called here every 30 minutes last night beginning about the time I walked in the door last night, until I finally answered at 25 minutes until ten, told her we had had guests for the evening, and that I'd call her back this morning.
-check phone message - there was another member phone call that I didn't pick up
-meds and vitamins
-clear kitchen counters (need to finish clean up from last night, dh only did partial)
-empty the dishwasher
-Clear kitchen table
Oh....I don't want to call this lady back, but I must.
I woke up tired this morning on the late side. I think it was 6:35 that ddogs got me up and I was dreaming weird dreams and it was an effort to wake up and become coherent.

Helia, when the family is away, or part of them away, I too tend to give myself more down time, kind of like a mini-vacation. It's all good!

Yesterday when I was outside watering I thinking of how supportive and helpful Indiana was when I got the Rx of diab. we had our rough moments as well. I apologize to any that need me to do that for things I've said that may have been upsetting to any here especially mods. for not doing all that I was supposed due to a lack of time on my part.
Puweee! A skunk has been in the area it woke me up at five ish. I did not want to walk with that outside. So went back to sleep. I've picked up the apples and rounded up the trash for trash day.
Coffee is made and I've had breakfast.
Did my walk last night so my bs was pretty good this morning.
A bit of good news here Hubby is working today.
That means a rest from coop building with the skunkyness out side that's a relief! SO glad it was not like this yesterday!
Yesterday I got the traffic areas mopped in the kitchen and dining room, and the bathrooms so glad to have that much inside done with all the out side coop stuff we did.
Helia: I can identify with your family being gone last mo. when both kids were out of town that same week it was definitely different. I did get some sewing done something that is a challenge to do when they are around for granny duty. I to no longer watch Dr. Phil. Had to try to limit my ice cream intake to once a week how ever I got ice cream bars on sale yesterday and my bday is coming up so that will be a challenge.
Did you see that Christmas count down begins this weekend C.E.O. has been busy and has updated her site.
EN I just tried to send you an e-mail w/ my newest contact info. says it's still in my outbox.

~ Sigh ~ Anyway I'm not using my airborne1 email much as we may be changing ISP servers having some probs. with it ever-since they went to google.
Edited to add upon further investigation I see that the messages I sent today have went out.
