Happy Labor Day USA! Good Monday Morning to everyone!

I hope ya'll don't mind if I open the thread this morning. I only have 10 minutes before I must rush out the door. TG I only have to work until 2pm today, I didn't get to sleep til after 3am... I wasn't tired and couldn't put my book down. Ugh I just want to go back to bed!!!

Okay time to fill my coffee cups (I take two with me) and grab my lunch. See ya'll when I get home.

I'm up but my eyes are barely open. Some idiot decided to run his generator last night about 1 pm and it took me a long time to get back to sleep. Usually we are the only ones in the campground except for this weekend. There is a group camping just behind us. Hope they will be gone today so we can sleep well tonight.

Time to get the pictures off the camera and get moving on the blog. Last week I wrote something each day as the week went along but not this week. So I have to reconstruct the whole week and I'm not sure what I did as the days run together.

z~~Waving to scattered ~~~~ Hope today goes smoothly. Being a mom & pop small business owner means I am working today too. Although the hours I work are usually flexible.

Today kicks off a new project = LO bedroom cleanse. This is probably going to be the hardest room of the house to do, LO has a strong opinion about what toys stays/goes and I respect his right to make those decisions.....as long as the end result fits into the space there is to store toys. My plan is to empty his room of toys and put all toys together in a huge pile and then start sorting them. We will start with separating out his favorite toys and work our way down the "favorite toy scale" to the ones he never plays with. Put those unused toys in GW bag and then organize the ones he plays with on a frequent basis. Writing the toy organization steps/process makes it sound easy.....much easier than i expect it will be.

The last child's bedroom cleanse I did was when ds was over 16 and in trouble and I took away everything except a subset of clothes, his books (not that he read then) and his lego and told him if he was in custody he'd have even less but he needed to understand what live would be like if he continued his behaviour. (Everything was put in bags in the sheds and he'd earn a random bag back one at time as his behaviour improved.)

I'm awake but still in bed.

Slept through the night last night (first time in ages although most nights I'm just up to the bathroom and back to bed so it isn't disruptive like Friday and Saturday were.) Changed pillows to see if that might help the neck issues which might be leading to the headache. But I also took an advil because I was desperate for a good sleep and in pain. Still had the headache as I was falling asleep but for now it seems to be gone.

Must get up and get going because my bosom buddy might be over at 10:30 and I'm slow moving. Plus it is a shower day.

May it be a good Labor Day for everyone today. Is it Labour Day in Canada, Kathryn or is it spelled the same as here?

I remember you going through those days with ds, Kathryn. There are some things about them growing into adulthood.

It is quite cool in here this morning, but I'm being stingy and refusing to turn on the heat. Hopefully it will soon warm up outside so I can open the patio door.

Almost think our hummers are gone. I've been telling dh they're usually gone around Labor Day -now how DO they know it's Labor Day, is my question.

Last night was lovely -spent about an hour and a half at DS-R's at a campfire. DH worked almost 11 hours yesterday and was beat. The camp's clambake was yesterday afternoon so he was kept busy with things surrounding that all day. Think he said they did 375 dozen. I went up for a hot dog (minus a roll), salt potatoes and an ear of corn. Found myself with low bs about then and dh came along and I asked him to bring it to me. I just couldn't stand in line any longer. Too shaky.

Today is just 'maintaining' around here I think. May go to W M for some things on a list. Been trying to find where I might have written down the recipe for spaghetti sauce earlier this summer. Thought I posted here, but don't find it. Figured I'd make "Perfect Winter Beef Stew" for Friday and spaghetti for Saturday. Sunday we're planning a family picinic at DS-A's house.

Today the exodus begins here. Know DS-R, ddil#1, dgs7 will all be moving back home, getting ready for the school year. DDIL has this week off. Think dgs starts school on Wednesday and other 3 dgks start on Tuesday. EDIT: Wrong, all 4 dgks start on Wednesday.

5x5:

1. Find recipe for spaghetti sauce
2. Get a bin for all dh's 'stuff' on deck
3. Pick up deck
4. Straighten fridge (sure this is a 3 minute job)
5. Sort and rearrange 3x5 cards

Think we're supposed to start getting rain later, but at least it's cooler so should be a good day to clean deck. DH wants to make sure we've got propane for use in our deck heater -we've not used it yet this year. But may have to in the evening by the end of this week -if we're on the deck. Also have to find the cover for it for the winter -I almost think it's in our deck box, which makes the most sense.

I did relent and turned on the furnace long enough to warm it up in here by 3 degrees. Feels much better. Made sure I turned it off as soon as it reached that temp.

Today we have a couple of options; farm or working on the chicken coop.
I vote coop getting a long weekend to work on it is like a gift!

I have an idea for card board liners for the next boxes not sure what kind
of boxes would work woke up with the idea to try ceareal boxes if they did not fit would be easy enough to modify!

We had to cut a 2" diamater branch off the red bud tree to make room for the nest boxes. That branch we will keep to modify for a pearch in case we need it. Not sure where it will go yet.

I need to water today some time that did not get done yesterday here.

I even tried to wash a couple of windows. It is too hot on the east side of the rig to wash windows - they just streak up as the window is hot and the solution evaporates.

Next up:
Unpack suitcase
Put suitcase and other stuff under the bed
Get laundry together
Get S2S and dressed
Go finish the pillows and clean up volunteer room

Visited my colorist early this morning. Enjoying using the hair product recently recommended by Harriet. End result is smooth and shiny hair.

Made breakfast burritos. One of my favorite meals to prepare when I have bits of this and that to finish up. Wrapped them in low carb tortillas that gives us a huge start on daily fiber needs.

LO hats sorted. This fella is addicted to hats. I think he ended up keeping 1/2 dozen cowboy hats and about that many baseball style hats. The other hats are ones that he doesn't care for or are too small so have been put in GW sack. I don't have a good way to store/display his hats. For now they are all contained in a large tub until I can find a way.
