Together Tuesday

Good Morning Villagers! After yesterdays thread I realized that we are all walking, crawling, pulling each other through life together. We can do anything together. I may not be that great with shout-outs but I try to read everyone's posts and realize that this is probably the most accepting loving corner of the web I have ever had the privilege to know.
I miss Holidays with my family but after DGrandma passed in 94, they haven't been the same. Before she died she always kept the family fights and dramatics to a minimum, but after she died my family really fell apart. My way of dealing with the tumult was to move away, first to Colorado (everyone else was in Alaska & California) then to Virginia. Living 4000 miles from my family can be tough momentarily until I talk to my DAunt/BFF and hear her struggles with the rest of my family. Having 2 boys I only hope that their future DWives will want to involve me in their Holiday plans. On top of all that having worked in the medical field for more than 20 years means that a lot of time we don't get celebrate the Holidays on the Holidays.
DS19's new manager is giving him a ton more hours... including early morning shifts which he hates. He has never (since birth) been a morning person so, a lot like me it is a struggle to get up and get out. Today we have to leave at the same time... Now!
Have a great day ya'll.

What a great title for Tuesday! Yes, we do go through a lot together, here. People in real life have a hard time understanding how we can be so much of a community since we don't share a physical space.
I'm awake. Dh may come with me today so I should get going since now I'm working on his schedule as well as mine. I can't decide if I'm going to get on the treadmill. I had shopping to do so was going to count that as my exercise, but dh may do a lot of the errands for me while I'm volunteering so that reduces my chances to walk.

You have hit the proverbial "nail", Scattered. And Kathryn said,
People in real life have a hard time understanding how we can be so much of a community since we don't share a physical space.
This is so true. When I try to explain something that's going on in our village like Indiana's passing or what Okay's going through, I know people can't understand how this can be such a part of my (our) life. I can't fathom being this much a part of any other place on the web.
Last night had a hard time getting to sleep or comfortable. For some reason my hip started hurting just before bedtime. Got up around 2 and gave in to taking some acetiminophen. (Been trying to not take any because of kidneys). Still hurting this morning but not as bad. At least my BS was finally acceptable this morning. Have to make a Dr appointment soon, get my flu shot and see what's up with battling higher numbers. I was doing so well for so long.
Have to run an errand for dh in a town about 15 miles from here. He ordered some roofing to put a little cover over the back of our shed -so he can hang shovels, etc there (out of sight). Want to get a mailing ready for dd with some pictures of our new dgs. Have some coupons to send her as well.
Need to go do a LOL sometime today. Sometimes it's better to go in the afternoon -then I'm more sure to get things done here. If I leave first -well I'm sure some of you understand that leaving and then trying to come back and be productive thing.

Scattered - Thank you for such a great start.
Ivy - I'm glad the definition of 3D's was posted.
DH and I have decided to take it easy as possible today. We had already made arraignments for someone to take care of MPB today, so we are relieved from that 6-8 hours of workload. Today I'm just going to focus on the 3D's again. I plan to start using my SHE cards again tomorrow.
3D status -
** Dishes - dishwasher 1/2 loaded, will run it after breakfast
** Duds - one load to be hung/folded/put away. One load to be dried.
** Dinner
B- egg, bacon, fried pears
L - McDonalds (it is the easiest lunch solution on the day we take LO to his counselor appt)
S - Ribeye steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad.

Lilac, I have never lived close to my parents or in-laws, so I always took full responsibility for my kids all the time. Even when we visited my parents 2x/year with small kids, my parents were not very willing to watch them, even for an hour - even so we could go to the post office unencumbered; we asked and they watched them a couple times, but then it became clear they did not enjoy that and did not want to do that. And my kids were not particularly difficult or highly active. I think they just don't enjoy kids, and we had 3 in 4 years - but my parents had (adopted) 3 in 4 years, so that shouldn't have been novel. Maybe they brought back bad memories? I thought they'd enjoy getting to know their grandkids, but I was wrong. That realization in and of itself was painful. . . . SO, I just hope that your children and the kids of others here who have their parents watch their kids really and deeply and truly appreciate them for doing that. I am just amazed at how many of you here watch your grandkids. Some of us would have loved that, even an hour or 2 twice a year, and never had that! Your commitment in getting to know and be close to your grandkids is laudable. All this to say, I think the tough love is appropriate too. You have given a lot to your dd, and its not like you're breaking a relationship or anything.
As always, your menus are amazing, OK. Fried pears? That one is new to me.
I'm debating going back to bed or not.

Fried pears - just a way of using pears up that are getting close to being too ripe. Slice them up, saute in butter with a little cinnamon sprinkled in. MMmmmh.
Yesterday I claimed "Nana's rights". I light heartily apologized to DSon in advanced and then told him "Tough! You just gotta live with it. I love to spoil those grandkids!"

He just shook his head and smiled. Yesterday I bought NOISY gifts for DGS6 and DGS1 for no other reason than I wanted them to know I loved them. I told DSon that the gifts were gift wrapped so he couldn't see what they were and be tempted to toss them out the window on his drive home. I also bought some unique type candy and sent to it all home with DSon to delivery it to his children.
I did give DSon hope and told him he could always remove the batteries if the noisy gifts got too annoying. I gave him no hope of a solution for the sugar high I was sending to the little ones.

Fried pears.....never heard of that before, Okay.
I've been cuop on later posts from yesterday. Find the holiday conversation quite interesting. Of course we now spend Christmas & Thanksgiving at dd's in FL. Have to fit in some holidays at dbil/dsil's however. Last year was kind of nice as we went to church Christmas morning and then went to dsisil's dsis for dinner. DD & DsonIL had to go to his Mom's. We ended up celebrating Christmas the next day -and I have to tell you it was really nice! We took our time, had a nice breakfast with no interruptions. DS-A would dearly love for us to fly back here for Christmas but we hate to spend that kind of money flying over the holidays and we no longer have clothing to weather harsh winter cold and snow. (Of course last year was the exception to that.) Would love to have the 2 boys' families fly down for the holidays but we're not ready to spend that kind of money -and DS-A still has obligations for DGS13 to spend part of those days with xddil &

her family.
I've been sitting here for almost 2 hours so I guess it's time to get on with my day. 3 D's are definitely on my plate today!
Oh-oh -came back to find this still sitting here. Just hit submit and never checked to see if it actually 'went'.
You're incorrigable (sp?), Okay.

(I've done the same thing -think it might be called justifiable revenge?)

I'm up and dressed. Didn't hit the treadmill. Did water the plants. I've put my pedometer in my bra today. Mine needs to be vertical so I had to pin it in place because it kept slipping on its side. I can be worn tightly against the body, in a chest pocket, worn on a lanyard under tight clothes or in a front pocket so I'm hoping the bra will work. It also came with a belt clip so it can be clipped on me if I don't have pockets. In the summer, I wear sun dresses so can't clip a pedometer to my waistband. When I saw that I could buy a pedometer that could be worn other places, I jumped at the chance.
Having my tea and chocolate now. Will be late leaving for volunteering since I meant to leave in 5 minutes and haven't had my cereal yet.

((((Helia)))) I wish things were different with your parents and kids. ***VBSigh****
Thinking how much fun it would be as Grandparent to watch them grow up and especially the joy in cheering them on in each of their endeavors. ((((HUGS))))

Good morning! I am up early, have S2S and am ready to go out the door. I figure if Dee can go through these tests, so can I! Though I will probably have an easier time than she does, so I'm trying not to complain. Getting routine things out of the way for once. It has been quite a few years since I've had these done.
I will BBL
