actually I feel like I have been in storage - mostly dejunking.
I think this one is a large one and needs to be broken into little bits - when there is too much to face at once; I find decisions are hard to make - they seem so overwhelming that as a SHE we tend to blame our selves instead of seeing the progress - one thing taken care of is one thing taken care of!

for me: I went through the empty plastic boxes and found I had many tops and no bottoms - so off the mismatched went to the recycling center

What would you like to get done - if it seems overwhelming maybe we can help you as you help me focus.

what is on your cards for this space
do you have multiple spaces
do you have rental spaces for all your stuff - its okay to say it here - my dcousin just got rid of 2 storage units. - one she had told her dh about and one she hadn't (not unusual)
use dharriets dejunking area to write your frustrations and your progress
do you have an area that needs sweeping even one section.

I do have a struggle with keeping the focus only every so often. It does help me on those areas where I touch little bits but for storage matters and closets I find doing one shelf or one little area a little each week or every other week works well for me as things tend to build if I don't address them on a regular basis.

example: in misc. drawer the pens and pencils tend to have babies, when I am in the kitchen I go through this and dejunk them. sometimes it kills me to throw away perfectly good pencils or half good pencils but they build and build until I can't close the drawer - so I just do it and it still kills me

for me: storage includes getting my outside ready for closing for winter:
it includes
above ground pool
cover chairs
empty and put away pots
bring in herbs
take down garden (dh job)
cut down roses
put up lights for christmas - before it gets too cold
put all items away

Blessedw2 ~ Could you drop those extra pencils off at the public library? I know ours is always happy to have pencils because they give them to kids doing homework. Or send them to school with the kids to give to teachers?

I have one closet that really needs attention this week. It's supposed to be used for long-term storage, yet somehow mysteriously other things get stashed in there. Then the Christmas decorations that should be in there, migrate to other places. :?

DH will need to winterize and store the mower and weed whacker sooner or later. Must clear space in the garage for him to do that.

what I did get done:
put pots away (dd emptied them)
pulled out covers and put them on the chairs
dejunked only a little in there
