No outside extra activities today! YES! Hopefully I will be able to follow my planned time slots and do cards for the majority of today.

This evening the Friday Night Gang meets in our home. I'll move furniture, bring in more chairs, prepare snacks and drinks to welcome this special group of VDFriends.

Ivy - yesterday i took both grandsons (DGS15 and DGS17) shopping. DGS15 is an excellent shopper and if he hadn't went with us, it would have taken much longer. We were buying homecoming outfit for DGS17. It was simple what he wanted, but turned out to be a challenge to find. He wanted midnight black dress pants in a 29" waist. That is almost impossible to find. We did end up finding a 30" waist that fit okay. Then a black slim fit dress shirt without a pocket. A black vest. The 3 black pieces (pants, shirt and vest) had to be the same shade of black. A red tie (skinny). Black dress socks. Black shiny dress shoes that lace up (similar to what ROTC wears).

I'm ready to take on the day.

Good morning! Sounds like a great day, OK. I look forward to seeing your CCC. :)

Dh's ceramics teacher and gf stayed later than the others last night; I wish I had known before 2 in the afternoon they were coming. It was nice to meet them and chat with them, but we've noticed that first timers to our Thursday dinner crew tend to stay later and chat longer; they need a little more attention than the old-timers. I was tired yesterday afternoon and had been looking forward to a low-key evening. I didn't have much in me to offer guests. Fortunately, dh was involved in the bulk of the conversation-making. Dfriends R and A come over as friends, not guests, so an evening with them is always low-key, though they both left pretty early.

So, today looks more low-key, so far. . .WW meeting at 9:30. I need to go to the bank and dd14 is requesting jeans from Tar-jay; she is still wearing kid sizes, as is dd16, and there is a specific brand/size she wants. We are supposedly celebrating my birthday tonight! --No, I do not need birthday greetings; my birthday was June 27. this is how long it has taken us to find an evening that works, for whatever reasons. I think the impetus is that dd16's bday is next week; we do try to get one birthday celebrated before the next one comes along.

I need to get in a jog since I didn't do that yesterday - btwn. getting home around 1:30? to eat lunch, leaving again at 3:15 for dd14's oboe lesson, home around 4:50 - and then the dinner crew starting to arrive at 6:45. I need a good 1:15 slot of time, starting 2 hours after I have eaten anything.

I was slow getting up/going this morning -but OTOH I had a pretty good night's sleep.

Just texted with DDIL#2 to see if she knew anything new about dgs19. We were thinking of going in soon. She said she's planning to pop over to see him shortly and will let us know what the scoop is. Said that yesterday he was in so much discomfort that she didn't dare try calling/texting him. so we're in 'wait' mode.

I really need to get over to C World to see if there's anything we want to buy. Have $150 in gift certificates that have to be used before the end of the year. If there's anything we want, would rather buy it here than buying in FL and having to transport it. They're located in our hometown -8 miles from here.

Have to get trailer ooze picked up while I'm waiting. Hate it when things don't look spiffy. I would probably cringe just a little to have company stop in at this point.

Good morning! I am feeling better and dh was able to go to work. The Air born seems to have helped his sniffles.

I need to buy groceries, that is after I get a list made. The boys have games this weekend, 1 each day. It is suppose to be a lot cooler than we are use to. I may watch the girls and stay home. I am hoping that dd2 will not think she needs to work all weekend. That is why she hired help. She can really be a control freak on some things and I am really seeing it on this business. With the boys coming home again, she needs to be there for them. They are always so clingy because they don't like being away from her half the time. I wish their dad would see that they want to be with their mom and sisters.

Guess I better find something to wear and get it ironed, so that I can shower, etc.

Hope you each have a great day, whether it is working at home, running errands, etc.

MICE! EEEeewwwee! This morning is saw one dart through the dining room and now I hear some noise in the attic. It's that time of the year when they decide living indoors is better than the pasture. It's time to pick up my once-a-year-supply of encouragement to get the message out.....GO AWAY MICE!!

Helia - you are an inspiration with your consistent effort to find a slot for jogging and taking good care of yourself. POTB!

((((Lilac))) - glad you are feeling better.

LO and stack of pumpkins cut from construction paper safely delivered to school.

It's time to turn my focus back to completing as many cards as I can in each time slot. Conga music is on!

I was up at five with ddogs and dh and went back to bed after dh headed to work around seven. Just now woke up and with weird dreams! I'm taking a quiet morning before heading to work for the afternoon - I didn't get in a lick of work yesterday until 12:30 so I want to make up some time, and we will go on to services and Shabbat dinner at temple.

I really should get busy....still need to walk the ddogs and do some kitchen clean up.

-change clothes and walk ddogs
-clear/wipe kitchen counters
-empty dishwasher
-meds/vitamins for me and ddogs
-fold and put away a lol from Wednesday

When I do head in to work, I need to go by the vet for Heartguard and also by the drugstore for my Lipitor.

I'm up coffee is made. 35*-66* today's temp. range. I put blankets on the tomatoes last night near record low temps. here for us this week. H. has left for work. Heat is on glad I do not have to go outside and do any pet chores may rethink getting hens till spring LOL! Br-r!

The kitchen card is up it needs to be dug out!
I have some Rx to pick up at some point today.
Guess what those cookies dgd & I made earlier in the week are gone go figure! It's a good thing I froze the pumpkin bread.
Dgd does not spend as much time in my lap these days but when she does she likes a story or three! If it's in the afternoon have her get the blanket first as we both tend to nap when she does! Yesterday she enjoyed a "Franklin & the green night" movie after helping with the baking. She is really in to puzzles and does four of them like three or four times and legos and likes some go fish cards we have here with disney character princesses on them.

Wishing every one a great day!

Love that, Okay:
once-a-year-supply of encouragement to get the message out..
Yeah, we have to give that "encouragement" too when we leave here in the fall. Last year we had no signs, but before we left :o ! Dh was convinced it was a mouse trapped in here when they made it, but I can't figure out what she ate in the meantime if that was so. My thought it was one field mouse who found her way in here by way of a water pipe, had lots of babies (caught all of them) and (fingers crossed) haven't seen anything since. But we wil dutifully put out "food", etc to keep them happy should they appear -until their demise that is.

Have things pretty well picked up. Think I'll meander over to see dfriend. Haven't seen her since dgs went in the hospital. Have to tell her (because she's the one who knows everything that goes on in the park).
