Good Morning!

I'm hoping for a terrific Tuesday. I am heading to the big city with a bus load of little ones. LO's class and 3 other classes are going to the Zoo. I hope my energy level is up for this challenge! The teacher will divide the students up and assign some to each adult. Then the adult and assigned students take off on a 3 hour walking session to see as many of the animals as we can. We have matching shirts, so hopefully that will make it easier to visually track the ones assigned to me.

I suspect my pedometer will be reach it's largest # of the year. I haven't wore pedometer in a long time, but yesterday I dusted it off and put a new battery in it after seeing several pedometer CI here. I was surprised to reach over 8,000 steps yesterday because I sat for over 5 hours during DMom's test. I suspect yesterday will be a low # and today will be an extremely high # of steps. I am looking forward to discovering my typical # of steps a day.

RE: Concrete blocks - I am expanding the garden again this year and use the concrete blocks (stacked 2 high) as the outline of each garden section. I thought I was done expanding the garden last year, but discovered one more expansion is needed. The mowing around one area of it is difficult, so I am going to include that area into the garden then *POOF* no more mowing difficulties.

RE: MPB driveway. Yeah, there might be some hub-bub raised about the extra driveway added. >>>shrugging shoulders<<<< OH Well! it is done. The RR construction crew brought the asphalt and their big equipment to MPB and the extra driveway looks wonderful. And now you see why we can NEVER move from the country to developed housing area/HOA. We would constantly be in trouble for not following their rules.

Review : Android App - I recently discovered this journal/diary app and am smitten with it. Orange Diary Pro. It cost less than $2 and there is a demo version available for free. I know there are all kinds of apps that do similar, however this app does something I have not found in any other app of this type. I am a big Google calendar user and wanted something that sync'd with it. This app fits perfectly with it.

For you redheads out there, I must say that my DD has amazingly rich red hair -- think Maureen O'Hara, or maybe a shade deeper. Not auburn, either, just a deep, deep red with no trace of brown. She's either going to stay petite like her aunt and be awfully cute or go willowy like my DM, and then Heaven help us!

OKay, good luck with the zoo trip! I bet you will post a big number -- maybe double yesterday! (Or maybe more -- I don't know how big your zoo is.) Good luck keeping your ducklings in a row!

Woke early this morning -- about an hour before the alarm, and I couldn't get back to sleep. On the one hand, I did pop out of bed about as soon as it went off; on the other, this may end up being a two-mocha morning!

Five cards done already (well, really four, and one -- take girls to school -- not needed today). Nothing on today's agenda except the meeting with the psychologist; well, I'll need to stop for gas beforehand, and maybe pick up a few things at the grocery -- I'd like to do a big shopping run tonight, except 1) DH is headed to the Scout meeting tonight, and 2) I don't think my ankles/feet could take it after yesterday's 10,000+ steps. I can do 10,000 steps, but I have to work my way up to it -- going from 2,500 steps on Sunday (when I was under the weather) directly to 10,000 on Monday is a sure-fire recipe for pain. dd is almost done with breakfast, and I need to brush her hair. It's terribly long, and when she does it herself (as she did yesterday), she doesn't get all the tangles out. I need to make sure the girls have brought down their laundry bags, too.

There -- hair brushed! I told dd if there's still time after she brushes her teeth, I'll braid it, but at this point, we're cutting it close. Carpool should be here in about :10. Once the girls are gone, I can get full swing into my routine.

Post and run - I'm at work this morning and dropped dMacs off at the vet earlier.

Oooooh, frustrating email from a temple member this morning about issue at the temple office. Another "I can't believe she did that" regarding the temple secretary.

I am taking off on THursday and I'm getting excited about having almost a week - from 5:30 p.m. today until next Monday a.m. w/o work...making my li%t and checking it twice....determined not to waste it away.

Dcleaning lady is coming today - I left her a note because I've figured out that she's using straight laundry bleach for bathroom cleaning. I had bought bleach in one of the squeeze bottles for HE washers - we also don't use very much so a smaller container made sense. I just put two and two together: she's out of bathroom cleaner and I'm out of laundry bleach (again?) and my bathrooms are still smelling particularly "clean."

I remember your DD's beautiful red hair, Mystery.

I always wanted red hair as a child/young person -- maybe I was inspired by Anne Shirley -- but have finally come to terms with my now sandy-blond and almost brown-ish hair. I don't do anything to color it. Once every year or so I might get highlights, though I have gone years between those too. .. . I guess I don't fuss with my hair much. I do have a touch of gray on the temples, but it is not obvious. I think most people don't notice. I don't even blow dry or style my hair -- I do wash it every day, though! If I don't, it gets greasy. It is a bit on the shorter side now, not even chin length.

Art gallery sounds nice, Lynlee.

We have a couple paintings in our home by Dutch painters from the 17th century. They came from dh's family's collection. One is a pastel? of an ancestor of dh's. There is a painting of one of dh's ancestors in the Louvre too.

Oh, a break for you sounds lovely, Twins. Are you going somewhere? Or just a break at home?

It is sunny and clear outside! I really should do the fall clean up work in the yard, but I need the time today to get my teaching under control. It is supposed to get up to 70 tomorrow, so maybe if I do well today, I can do yard work tomorrow. . . I know the nice fall days to work outside are now numbered.

This is a doubly slow morning for me. 2 DPC made -1 to car repair friend & 1 to the dentist for dh (he has to go back in at noon -this is just to have his plate relined. Had it done Friday & yesterday & now has another tender spot). I have to take the car in so dfriend can take it for a drive. It's whining in the back right whenever we round a right curve. I've actually heard something back there in just plain driving for some time (had told dh but he never could hear it.) I figured it was 'tire' noise. Had asked him when the oil was changed to check the tires and they were ok. Don't want to start to FL and have something really go wrong then. DH is thinking bearing.

Next dpc is to make my dr. appointment. Need to make it far enough out that I'm over this cold so I can get my flu shot, but not near to when we'll be driving over 1,300 miles -because that will mostly be ME. DH will drive -I just prefer to. I'm not a good 'rider'.

Did remember to ask him about going to Lancaster, PA on the way south (this morning) and he readily agreed to that. My one big concern was I didn't want to go through D.C./Baltimore. I can route a different way and probably only add an hour, but probably not since it could be congested going route 1! I can't make reservations, yet, to go to the Sight & Sound theater (Jonah & the Whale are playing), but will as soon as dh has a better idea of when we leave here. He just showed me a fistful of quarters he picked up on the floor when he pulled washers out. I've dropped one or 2 between myself, but also have picked up a few people left behind. Water is officially DONE on 'the hill' (or Snob Hill as it is sometimes referred to No idea how it got that name as they're not REALLY snobs. In fact DS & family live on 'the hill'.) Or sometimes "Millionaire's Row" -there actually are a couple of those up there). Stopped here to go 'disable' my laptop mouse/cursor. Have no idea why it turns itself back on after every reboot! Of course when I got to council last Monday and discovered I didn't have my external mouse, I was very glad then that it did turn on by itself!

Kept getting distracted here -the dentist office called to see if dh could come in right now, so now he's launched to there. It's a good 12-15 minute trip into town I think.

So, Mystery, maybe next time around we'll come that way. Would love to see you again. I still need to REMEMBER to send you the pics of your 2 dds with our dgd -who is now 17! Is that possible? I remember that red hair -it's beautiful! I still picture them as little. It's been a few years, because the last time I saw just you was over 3 years ago. So glad you're back posting with us!

Though I don't have much to do for the outside (dh pretty well does that), I still have some things I could get put away. Have to empty the small beverage fridge we have on the deck (oh my does that make us 'rednecks' with a fridge on the porch? ), go through a small drawer thing out there and I can put away chairs and decorative items. Looks pretty decent out here today too.

dlucy: I can't possibly do everything in the focus that month... lol boy wouldn't that be great - I would be in such good shape . I just use it to focus on one thing or a couple for that week. my very dear sil does this stuff naturally and she makes it look effortless even when she was working full time but she always said she worked really hard to make it seem that way. (she is always so humble about her abilities). I get one thing (even small done) and it's so corny but I feel like I did something amazing. lol

Yesterday dd younger had such a good time. she joined a French chat group (no charge) but the hope is always that you buy dinner there. She really enjoyed it.
Also I got a very nice call from dmom - I had made dinner for her and she is definitely not one for praise but she called and said she loved the dinner.
