PWYC SATURDAY

Post by CathyS »

Good morning everyone!

I couldn't come up with a positive "S" word for today as all I could think about were either "Scary" or "Stormy".

I hope everyone is safe and dry today as you go about your day.

I need to finish packing and do as much laundry as possible. Dh is sleeping, so I'm sitting here trying to be quiet.

Off to make a hot tea and plan my day. I might need to shop for bread and milk. The storm shows Toronto in the path of the hurricane. Radar shows that Toronto and the Ottawa area are being drenched along with most of the eastern states. It's still dark here.

BBL.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Stay safe in the storms all who will/could be affected.
Sending prayers for people to be safe.
Just begin.

Change of plans for me - dh has decided that perhaps a trip to ATL tomorrow would work better, and we can watch FL State play football today. If we go tomorrow, I'd like to leave early enough that we can get there and be back on the early side to be mentally ready for Monday. He's gone to Torah study and then to his office for awhile, perhaps.

I have things to do this morning - I need to get the ddogs out for a walk, and get a urine sample for dMacs  for delivery to the vet this morning.

First up, change clothes, take Macs out with a jar, and then take both ddogs for a walk.

Other must dos:
grocery
cleaners
drop off at vet

Good Morning!

CathyS - Thanks for opening today. Packing? Where are you going?

I slept in this morning. Probably due to an overdose of candy last night

Today has a couple of commitments .....
** meeting DD for lunch with her boys. I'm 99% sure DGS17 won't attend, but I haven't given up yet.
** DH favorite collage team plays this evening. DH has very few times he enjoys watching TV and this is one of them. So if LO is his typical energetic self (enhanced by too much halloween candy), I'll take him somewhere while the game is on :D

Twins - Without asking TMI.....how in the world do you collect a dog urine sample????? I mean...I know how ....but how do you get the dog to cooperate??
Does any SHE have a satellite radio, and if so, can you let me know how much you pay?
Kathryn - we have satellite radio capability in both vehicles. Right now we don't use it. I had it turned on for ???4 years???? in my vehicle, but recently cancelled it. It was one of those bills that was automatically paid and I never gave it much thought. We were paying $40 every 3 months. When I called to cancel the service they offered to drop the cost to $25 every 3 months. (Lesson learned - their price IS negotiable!! Even though it was only a few dollars a month, I still cancelled because we just never ever use it anymore. Not even a hour a month. When the older grandboys are in my car they plug in their ipod/mp3 players and listen to their favorite music through the car speakers. I enjoy listening to their music with them and discussing it. When LO is in the car, we listen to his CD's. When i am in the car alone I crave SILENCE! :D

Good morning, villagers ~
Concentrating on 3 Ds this morning.
Cats are fed.
Dishes are soaking.
Cuop.
The washer has finished the first load of clothes.
It's time to start coffee brewing and then flip the laundry.
Not awake enough yet to decide what's for supper tonight.

Cathy ~ What clothes did you decide to take?

LOL, OKay. Quickly! Macs usually doesn't lift a leg because of his back leg damage - both legs have had extensive surgery with arthritis following. I let him out in the back yard and follow, watching. Once he squats I move in hopefully without alarming him and get the jar under him for collection. Obviously, a "clean catch" is out of the question!

I have the jar btw! Also took them on decent walk - they didn't get one last night because of Macs' tranquilizers at the vet - he was still pretty unsteady on the weak legs.

Yesterday I saw our wild turkeys twice - once with the ddogs when the turkeys were in a sodded and mulched playground area - one was sitting on the fence around the swimming pool. I saw them again when I came back from the vet after dropping Macs off - they were grazing in a grassy area and I stopped and watched them work their way across. Thought of Nancy and her deer sightings!

I am going to head out with my jar, the grocery list and the dry cleaning. Also a Hob Lob coupon - I might go walk through there.

Raining here too, Cathys. Supposed to rain for the next week. I'm getting a little nervous about getting out of here. Can't leave until probably Tuesday afternoon. Will just have to keep an eye on the weather I guess. Looks like we northereners will be more impacted than we thought. Are you far enough west to miss the worst, Harriet? Not sure where Ellyphant is located in PA so wonder about her too -and Kathryn & CathyS. We may not get to FL as early as I thought. Glad for those friends who have already left and are there or nearly so.

I'm still having a problem with this new med. Got up in the middle of the night, feeling shaky. Tested and I was 77 then, but took a little juice. Still was 66 this morning and very shaky. Dr. did say I could take it with breakfast instead of dinner if I wanted. But now I'm not sure how to go about that. Wondering whether to skip a dose at night and take in the am. Can't call Dr's office until Monday now. I even ate breakfast today before I felt I could muster the energy to take my morning meds. :? I am really 'easing' into the day today!

Think that post sat here for over an hour. Had to eat breakfast to start getting some energy and stability. When I happened to look there were already several other posts.

Didn't see your original question, Kathryn, but we have satellite radio but am finding this year I'm NEVER listening to it. We're somehow 'shirtailed' with DD and she called them last spring and told them we were cancelling -it was just more than either of us wanted to pay (and definitely THIS year!). I almost always listened to the classic radio shows. But found most trips were not long enough to listen to a whole episode so it was hit and miss. Think we ended up paying something like $160 for the year. Okay's right, as with so many technological places, prices are all over the place and negotiable!

I'm beginning to come to and just finally got dressed. Have to get onions going in the crockpot before too long for the church Smorgasbord today.

Really need to be packing the car as much as possible -between rain drops! Read more on the 'storm' after reading Cathy's post. Think we're going to head right into it on Tuesday! Nervous? I'll say! DH will pooh-pooh it I'm sure.

When are you leaving, Cathy?

You are awesome, Okay!

Think tonight, since I can't reach Dr. till Wednesday (hopefully her nurse will be in), I'm going to try taking 1/2 dose of my glipizide with the metformin and just see what that does. I can live with 80-some in the morning, but 70's & 60's are just way too low for me! I did see that someone posted that her dh said that the 63 I had yesterday was too low. Seems ludicrous to take med to lower blood sugars only to have to take some sort of sugar to get it up. I'm beginning to gain strength again now and hopefully can get busy.

I've done 2 rounds of 45s this morning already. Maybe this new Apron is Magic after all! :)

Sitting down for breakfast now. We have little dibs and dabs of leftovers in the fridge that must go this weekend. Ham salad sandwich and an apple for breakfast. Do I want to know how much red dye the deli put in this ham salad to make it look so pink? Probably not ...
