Good morning, villagers ~
Lynlee posted
today Saturday
some action in garage and laundry
Sounds about right to me. I'm down to my last clean bra and therefore must do at least 1 load of laundry today.
The weather is supposed to be nice this afternoon, so I'll try to get DH out to the garage again. There's a small pile of his yard and car care items that I don't know if they're usable or if they can be tossed in the trash.
Major goal today is to put sewing newsletter articles in good shape to send to the editor. I'm thankful that we have a 5th Tuesday this month, which gives us an extra week and lets us hold off on going to the printer until after the holiday weekend. I know she's still waiting on articles from other people, and I'll have to make changes depending on what they send, but whatever I can give her today will at least let her get a bit ahead.
I also want to give some more time to dejunking the office. Hmm, I think it's time to pull out the ol' timer -- meaning the kitchen timer, not the geezer that would be me

-- and use it to make sure that I take breaks instead of getting tunnel vision at the computer.
The timer will also be a reminder to stay hydrated today. A little water with every ping!

I needed that - "Saturday Action", thank you Book!
Love the timer for the computer use.
today: dd older suprised me last night and came home for the weekend... my family knew and I didn't - nice surprise
so today: we may see Lincoln and do our "Christmas wish" day - when the dkids were little we would go with friends for a dream Christmas shopping day - it was so much fun. We still do that. They take pictures of their wishes - it can be way out there and real ideas that they can add to their list - for me and for them they get surprises but in the realm they are looking for.

A Christmas Wish Day - what a neat idea! I used to let the kids go through the flyers and the Sears Christmas catalog - never thought of taking them to a store where they could see things in real life (sometimes real life pales to advertising!)
Booksaver - I noted your car repair success yesterday. I'm the Yin to to your Yang. The new car doesn't fit the old snow tires so that is a $1500 extra expense. I could cut it by $300 by buying the same tires in the US but we've decided to support our local tire centre (privately owned - we've been with him since he worked out of his house's garage, waiting in the play room in his basement but now he has a 4 bay garage with automatic car wash and a huge staff (all local to the community.) His price is the same as Canadian Tire (the big automotive chain in Canada.)
I'm up. And on the treadmill. Dh had a rough night so woke up an hour later than I thought he would so I'm now running an hour behind on my schedule. He said I needed the sleep because I was up late reading but in actual fact I only read until 11:30 and waking at 7 would have been just right for me.
Busy day on zone work. Bathrooms are my focus, cleaning medicine cabinets and the cupboards under the sink. Yesterday in the bedroom I overfilled a grocery bag full of garbage and moved a few things to their rightful place in the house. I hope to get another grocery bag of garbage today.
Dh and I had another discussion a few weeks ago about preparing the house for a move (which isn't at all on the horizon.) We figure if we can live without stuff easily down the road, there's no point hanging on to it now. So all my 'sexy' underwear, none of which will ever fit me again, nor would I want to wear it (what one thinks is sexy at 20 would look ridiculous on a 50 year old body) was tossed along with a few other pieces of junk and manuals for items that we no longer own.

Good Morning!
I woke up before normal time this morning and was too full of energy to lay in bed, so I got up 30 minutes early. I treasure that quiet time of the early morning hours.
This morning I'm taking LO to Lowes kid build. On the way, I'll swing by and pick up one or both of his brothers. With growing boys on board, I'm sure our time together will include plenty of food.
This morning I made breakfast burritos which is an easy recipe to double to have extra on hand. Tomorrows breakfast will be easy as well as OH SO GOOD! Spaghetti, salad and Saturday Night ice cream are the other items on today's menu plan.

I ended up not doing too much yesterday afternoon. I still need to finish winterizing our flower gardens, but the good news is that the weather this week is looking good, predicted highs in the 50s, even the 60s on Thanksgiving!
Dd14 enjoyed the synchro. practice yesterday. The team is small, and she is one of only 3 freshmen on it. She said she swam about 3,000 meters last night -- not all at once, just altogether. Each freshman was paired with a Junior at some point to give them pointers. She likes the coach, which is very good - and important.
PODA for today:
-dd14 to audition; leave here around 10:45, back around noon
-dd14 back to band clinic, leave here around 12:20 to pick up a friend (I know - 20 minutes at home) and then take her and dfriend to the clinic; the friend's mom should be taking them home
-groc. store
-house prep for small group -- b/c I did some cleaning on Wednesday, there isn't too much surface cleaning to do. I may get to a little deeper cleaning
-make the kima and rice for small group
-maybe get to yardwork
-hopefully get in a jog
-small group will meet here at 5 pm
-8:15, dfriend and I will leave to go to her house where she is hosting a get together for dfriend, the one who stayed here Wednesday night. She is coming back here for the weekend; her dh will join her Sunday night after the conference is over.
So, that will be my day.
I'm off to start the am routine now. I have done some emails - just remembered one more I need to send.

I'm considering today as recovery from yesterday's long day of driving (5+ hours total) and socializing. We got in a little after 9 p.m. last night - not a bad trip at all. We were at the synagogue in plenty of time for funeral and for dh to help out moving cars around, then a very kind lady had us follow her to the cemetery and then on to the house for visiting. Lots and lots of people and family - dh had met a lot of D&L's family but I had only met their grown kids before. (It was D's mother who passed away, at age 90.)
DH left early to go work on a Rotary project today - smoked pork butts - which they do as a fundraiser. So I don't know what plans are for later. I might even try to cook dinner? So nice to have a day wide open today. I'm feeling relieved that we're not doing the whirlwind trip to FL next week for Thanksgiving - this was to visit D&L (see above) and that's off now with the death in the family.

Done exercising and s2s. Also tidying the bedroom.
Have emptied the dishwasher, started a load of laundry (the sun is out unexpectedly so I'm going to try and use the solar dryer this morning), started baking some muffins and have now settled in for tea and chocolate.

Just cleaned up the bathtub. The dispenser of shampoo, body wash and conditioner fell last night and I had all of that plus broken plastic all in the bottom of the tub. I was able to salvage about a pint of the liquid - all mixed together. I'll probably have to use it as DH doesn't like to smell like peaches.
Dbro just called and he is about 1 hour out, so I'd better get moving on picking up footsteps. I also want to get a pot roast in the oven for early dinner this afternoon.
