Monday Miracles

“Just because you can explain it doesn't mean it's not still a miracle.”― Terry Pratchett, Small Gods

I did not realize until this morning when I woke up after only 4.75 hours of sleep that I have not been sleeping well for awhile. This morning I am more awake then usual. I felt somewhat this way after my nap yesterday but wow, I actually feel ok after only a short bit of sleep.

I have to work 7-3:30 today and then I will come home to write, write, write.

Have a great Miracle filled day Villagers.

We are a miracle short in this household - ds is still running a fever. It spiked quite high through the night so he's told me I'll need to wash the sheets because he soaked them with sweat. He's emailed and texted in sick to his own co-workers since he doesn't have a phone number to call this other hospital and the trainees will not be there until at least 8.

Dh slept ok, said the searing pain in the hand stopped before bed. I slept fine too, not waking up when ds was up in the night.

I've baked muffins and am having my tea now while I draw up a plan for the day. Normally, I'm just getting out of bed now but I got up an hour ago in order to make noise to wake up ds, so the dishwasher is emptied and the mail is sorted as well as the house smelling good. I'll get on the treadmill in a few minutes.

Thinking over yesterday, it was my miracle day. I seemed to have enough energy to have a good day (although I was down for over 90 minutes for my nap.) The morning started well, my presentation went well, I got my share of the editing done, started dinner, napped, finished cooking dinner, cleaned up and then had a quiet evening.

Today is also off to a good start. Of course we've had sun for the past few days and I'm wondering if that is helping me. I started to think that my overwhelming exhaustion last week might be due to SAD but hadn't figured out a way add in the 20 - 30 minutes under the light to my already packed schedule. It also might have been due to not having a proper nap for 3 days in a row over the past weekend.

At the very least, I'll pull out my SAD light and set it up so I can just turn it on when I do my devotions (something else I'm way behind on and want to be caught up by next Sunday so that means spending at least an hour a day on them.)

Good morning! Have a good day at work, scattered. If you're feeling OK after that small amount of sleep, I'd say that's a miracle. :)

((kathryn's ds)) I hope he feels better soon.

That is a miracle, Lynlee! I bet your floors look great.

I need a miracle today -- too much I need to get done. Actually, that is true for this week in general; prepping to leave will make M-W quite busy. But I did relax yesterday, other than the meetings and the oboe repair errands and church.

Currently, dgirls are off. Dh has gone for an early a.m. run. I'll try to jog this afternoon when it will be a little warmer. (High of 54 today!) I'm sipping tea and working on a week plan and a plan for today. Main goal for today: Hebrew.

PODA:
-a.m. routine
-Hebrew translation work (about 3 hours?)
-groc. store
-stop by Honeybaked ham store
-jog
-I may need to take dd14 shopping for swimming things - new goggles, cap
-Hebrew class at 5:05
-supper will be leftovers. .. . .I just realized that it will be only dh and myself since dd14 will be at synchro. practice 5:30 - 7:30, and dd17 will be in Detroit tutoring. . . . .
-other items on my li&t to be done before we leave town

I need a miracle 'mood changer'. I got up around 6 to use the bathroom, barely opening my eyes. Really wanted to go back to bed for a while -but, dh started talking to me! Does anyone understand what that does to your sleep momentum? He doesn't. So I made my half of the bed and proceeded to s2s, etc. Had to wait until just now to finally get some breakfast though. Everyone else is finally up. Seems like forever.

Trying to decide what we'll do today. dd and gd are going for a pyschiatric appt for gd and then a mall excursion. Think mainly to keep gd and dsil apart. Yes, it will be a long week! Unfortunately Christmas break is then 2 weeks!

Have to get funds transferred today so we can pay our bill for electric/septic at the campground. I had thought the electric would be less for some reason. :|

Off to do something productive and a 'mood lifter'. :D

Hmmmm....maybe I need my light too, Kathryn. It has been quite gloomy here for several days now.

scattered, my ds is a Terry Pratchett fan - I think he's read and owns every book.

At work today - feeling fairly productive and glad to have some down time this weekend. Even cooked dinner last night and dh and I sat down together, then walked ddogs and cleaned up kitchen.

Lucylee, will be keeping you and dparents in my thoughts today.

Good Morning!

I am hopeful we are past all this stomach flu/virus stuff and on our way to healthy days.

I've take LO to school (including pudding cups for classroom feast, library book returned, nap blanket washed & returned). Visited with DMom on my way back home. They are doing A-okay.

LucyLee - I'm wondering how many people do you/your parents know who have been through this procedure? I encourage you to seek IRL successes and talk one-on-one with them. ((((Hugs))))

Proceeding through my schedule. I have created a separate schedule for getting the investment accounts updated and entered into Quicken. I have 11 months to do (sigh...)

Today's first piece was to sort through all the statements and get them into piles by accounts. Later today, I'm to update the few easy accounts (GICs so only a bit of interest to add, no dividends or stock trades to worry about.)

I'm still on schedule but it is time for me to leap on to the next item, bill paying.
