FINISHING FRIDAY

Do you have a task that you'd like to 'finish' before the weekend? I have several -mostly desk type dealings. Have to take gd14 to school first, then work at church for a couple of hours. From there I'll go to B Buy to pick up dh's new TV (for Christmas). Hopefully I can sneak it into the house without him seeing it. DD will help me later if dsonil can keep dh busy or go somewhere with him.

DH went to school with dd (to work on the Christmas float) and will be there all day. Haven't made up my mind if I'm coming back here after church or going to see dsisil. If I go there, there's no sense in leaving until 2:30 to go get gd. But if I come here I might be able to accomplish some of those desk items.

Have to run>>>>>>>>>>>>have a good day, all -and put the finishing touches on 'something' today. :lol:

I need to buy groceries this morning. Dgd19mos was having diarrhea yesterday at daycare. Dd2 was surprised they didn't call her. If she still has it, then dd2 will need to keep her home. Dd2 has a dr. appt today for the possibility of an ear infection. So all this means I will probably end up with her at some point. Somehow I have to fit in the grocery shopping. Guess I better get a shower and make a list.................

Good morning! Yesterday kind of got away from me. I didn't get home from moms group until almost 1 pm. Then, I was so tired, I lay down for a bit after lunch and that turned into a mini-nap, a bit longer than expected. I did not end up going for a jog or finishing my gardens; I did get the kitchen cleaned up and dh showed up right as I was finishing that. Then, the girls were home -- and then I was driving dd14 to her design lesson, home again, greeting dd17's friend who arrived at our house before any of the rest of us did, then making supper. R ate with us last night and it was good to see him. He is so cheerful. Dd17's friend also ate with us last night. After kitchen clean up, I finished the paperwork for dd14's synch. swim team and made a phone call and signed up to bring something to the hs teacher appreciation lunch next Wed. They really need donations. I like to do that b/c so many of the parents are working full time and can't make something for it. Even though I'll be gone 9:30 - 2:30 that day, I can drop something off before I head out to my 9:30 appt. I signed up for a dessert rather than a main, which I couldn't figure out how to keep warm -- unless it was something in a crock pot, and I wasn't sure I wanted my crock pot to sit there until 3:15-ish, when I could finally swing by the school to pick it up.

A great title for the end of the week -- and the end of the month, Dee. So, back to the gardens and jogging -- those are 2 things which I'd like to do/finish today! --Only the weather isn't supposed to be as beautiful today. But still, as long as it's not raining, I can take care of the garden, and I can go jog inside. Today is more open, thank goodness.

TODAY: I will go brave the WW scales at 9:30 today. :shock: Then, I'll run a couple errands -- bank and Target. I'll try to make my weekend groc. run today as well as get in a jog and garden clean up. I need to pick up dd14 from syn. Sw. at 5; at 7, dh is giving a talk at a Christian campus group, our friend S's group actually which is largely Asian. (A few non-Asians do attend and even hold leadership positions, but it's explicitly Asian focused.) I'm going to go cheer on dh and say "hi" to some of the kids in the group I might know from church. Ds may be there; he attends this group when his other group isn't doing anything on a Friday night.

Dd17 has asked to have 2 church friends sleep over tonight; that is fine w/ me if it works out for them. I have no idea how we'll do supper between picking up dd14 at 5:10 and heading out w/ dh around 6:30 (he will want to be a little early) and now possibly having 2 extras. We usually go out to eat on Fridays; if needed, we have enough leftovers for our family but probably not for 2 extras. Maybe the girls will come over after supper. It will work out. It always does.

I'll need to brave scales too. Still bleeding after a full week so I don't expect anything good to look at. I'll probably start the ibuprofen to stop the bleeding in the next day or so if there's no change in the flow.

I'm up, bed is stripped and remade and I'm just finishing up the treadmill. Got one load of laundry ahead last night so can skip tonight if I go with dh. He suggested that I drop him at the drumming and pick him up so that reduces my time at ds's to 1.5 hours from 2.5+ hours and works much better for me. I'll check with ds when he wakes up and see if he wants to come too. Otherwise, I'll just go to spend some time with dfs and get his cleaning under control since I figure he hasn't been doing dishes, etc. I may bring his laundry home with me too.

In the meantime, my own house needs a cleaning today since I only got the kitchen down yesterday (plus some zone work.)

Today and tomorrow will be busy for me. Have to run to town today for a quick grocery pickup - DH did grocery shopping for me yesterday but forgot a couple of things I need.

We will stop by the car dealership to sign papers for the extended warranty. Hope to be home by noon.

This afternoon I am making roll ups using tortillas, cream cheese and ham for a Celebration of Life party tomorrow. A dear friend passed last week so this will be for her family.

Then I need to bake for church. We have coffee after church every Sunday and they served the last cookie last Sunday. I'm going to make mini muffins using up the muffin mix in my fridge.

Sometime this afternoon the contractor will be here to work on the estimate for the kitchen and/or bathroom remodel. So I need to pick up some footsteps for that.

Off to get some breakfast and jump in the shower. TTFN

I left at 7:30 this morning to get my car to the Honda dealership for routine servicing that will take all day. I think this is the equivalent of 100,000 mile servicing. I am driving a rental - a very cute little Fiat 500 for the day, although I'm not doing that much running around. I met with rabbi also this morning for my usual weekly meeting.

I don't have any further commitments today other than returning the car and picking my car up. I think I will make Shabbat dinner for me and dh and make challah. I bought flour and new yeast since the two challah fails last week, so hopefully it will come out right.

Going to take a nap now, will probably need a quick trip to grocery this afternoon but I need to think on that.

Looks like everybody is busy. I am trying to get our month closed out. I had some bookwork to do for the rental house and I had a brain freeze and couldn't figure out what I was doing. I guess when I stopped keeping up with the books in order to do Thanksgiving I missed a few things and then couldn't remember where I was at. My brain is getting old I guess.

Kathryn, I hope you don't catch any of the germs swirling around you.

I think I was trying to get the flu the past couple days. I had those body aches one day and couldn't stay warm and had to take a long nap under a blanket...think I was trying to get a sore throat, but then that went away. I am feeling much better today, and feel like my body fought off whatever germs I had...so am very pleased with that. 2 of the kids here at Thanksgiving had wet sneezes. And I spent time at a drs. office. Lotta germs around this time of year.

Back to my books.

Twins, I'm picturing you driving around in your little Fiat today! :P

Excellent topic for today, dee! I will finish decorating the tree, which I have been threatening to do all week! It is now standing in the right spot and the room is rearranged to keep the chair that had to be moved out of the way.

Library book is finished. May drop that off and pick up a movie that is waiting for me.

Coffee, devotions, and facebook accomplished...I need to get out of this chair!!

Wishing everyone a good day!

Dgd19mos is doing fine and went to daycare.

I am sitting here and can't seem to finalize a grocery list. I just hate going to the store!

~~~~waving Hi to all~~~~
We are back from LO's surgery and all went perfect. Doc said his adenoid was HUGE and ears were loaded with fluid. He expects great results from this surgery. They did say he was a fighter......it took 4 of them to hold him down so he wouldn't hurt himself as he was waking up. Because of his distress, he only spent 6 minutes in recovery (they said that was a new record for the shortest amount of time). LO immediately calmed down when they brought him to us. We spent an hour holding him while they monitored his vitals before leaving. He is now stretched out on couch watching TV. I'm glad to have this over with!
