i have 5 minutes until time to wake LO up. I have to manually keep an eye on the clock since I turned the alarms off.

We have to be out the door by 7am to make it on time to his post op hearing test and then have appt with surgeon/doc. We should find out the results of his allergy tests. I'm looking forward to these appointments and am hopeful for good news.

OKay, yes, thunder here as well, rain and a wind advisory. And I chose today to run errands!
I'm meeting w rabbi at 8:30ish and treasurer wants to meet for a few minutes before then also. This afternoon have a 4 p.m. meeting to attend and dh and I are having dinner out with some clients of his, whom I've never met.
In between, I need to get groceries, gas the car, and run some other errands. Probably should take stock right now, huh? Anyway, I'm reading the paper first, and then will need to get ready and head out.
Happy belated BD to Ellyphant!

I, too, did not get here to wish Ellyphant a Happy Birthday the other day. SO
.....HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ELLYPHANT!!
Have to leave in 10 minutes to take gd to school. How can I wake up SO tired???? I did take benadryl last night and I slept all night except for a bathroom break at 3:30, then slept soundly again until 6a.m. Night before was a disaster though and I think I'm still 'catching up'.
DS-R picked up a road sign for us (one that had been in an accident) for a snowmobile crossing. Couldn't figure out why we didn't have it yet (it's for dbil's Christmas present).

DD discovered it this morning, on the front porch, leaning against brick (behind the recycling bins) and it blended in. It's large and HEAVY -think I'll let her wrap it. DBIL/DSIL have a long drive going back to their house and he wanted one to post along that drive. He found one sign on vacattion in central US that says 9 1/2 mph.

(And actually that's just about the speed we go!). Next I want DS to find a road incident involving a 'deer' crossing sign. How DO they read those signs? And did you hear about the woman who wanted one of those signs moved because she kept avoiding deer at one of those signs?
Need to close this up and get on the road -have a good day!

I asked dh to not wake me when the light came on (therefore, DON'T turn on the radio.) I said he could get up but I wanted to wake on my own. I sleep in an eye mask so even the light on in the room doesn't disturb me.
As a result, I slept 8.5 hours (about an hour longer than what my body wants when it has enough rest.) I suspect, after missing naps for 3 day in a row, I have more deposits to make into my sleep bank but it is a start.
Today I have no need for soda to get through the day - I should be at home by 3 at the earliest, 4 at the latest so can nap before supper.
Yesterday and Tuesday, I had 2 or more sodas and real tea in order to get through the day.
My plan for the day:
Finish exercising
S2s and at breakfast by 8:30
Morning dailies done by 9:15
Sort through all I've bought and see where I stand for gifts by 10:15
Make up cheese tray for afternoon tea by 11:20
Dress for lunch and service done by 11:40
Girls' Lunch (with minister and musician), lessons and carol service at a senior's apartment) done by 3:00
Grocery shopping and more present gathering if necessary, done by 4:30
Start dinner and then nap until 5:45.
After dinner, I'll work on basement and kitchen weekly chores.

Happy belated Birthday Ellyphant!
Our newspaper is having a 12 day contest. They hide an elf in an ad. Yesterday I could not find it for anything. Dd1 told me she couldn't find it either. I finally looked online where you play and it said that it had mistakenly been omitted yesterday. While there I checked and I was a winner for the day before. I then looked at my emails. There were 3 about the elf, but 2 of them were from a man and it looked fishy, so I hadn't opened it. There was one though that was from a name I recognized from the paper and it said winner. Don't know how I had missed seeing that earlier.
Tonight was suppose to be dgs8s school program. Since school is cancelled, it will be too and not rescheduled.
Last night you could tell that dgd20mos did not know what to think of the weather conditions. She was very quiet the whole time she was here.
I plan on staying home today. I can't decide whether to wrap gifts or clean. Tomorrow I will buy groceries, but I still am not sure what my Christmas night menu will be.

Good morning! The girls are off. Dh and ds are still in bed. I'm sipping my tea.
We have a predicted high of 46 today, and it's not supposed to be particularly stormy or anything -- just 100% chance of rain. It rained for 2 minutes earlier this a.m. At this point, I'd rather have snow. We didn't have a white Cmas last year, and it looks like we won't get one this year either.
I heard about that woman and the deer crossing sign, Dee. Dh played a recording of the conversation with me. It is funny!! I tend to be very cynical and wonder about sources, and so I kind of wonder if it's a fabrication. Or maybe the talk show was real, but the woman pretended to be very. . . stupid. If it is not a fabrication, well, that woman is. . . well. . . .not very bright.
What a fun newspaper activity, Lilac! WTG finding that elf!
Glad you had a good day yesterday, scattered. ((daunt)) We might have moose crossing signs in the UP, not sure. . .
Looks like a busy day, Kathryn. I hope you are strong enough.
Hoping with you to hear good results from the Dr. OK.
Good luck with the errands in the rain, Twins.
Hi blessed!
I bought our tix to The Hobbit last night - for tomorrow night!
Yes, we've heard it's not that good, that it should not have been made into 3
films, etc. However, it is based on Tolkien, and most of our group will see all the films regardless. I've heard they put material from The Silmarillion into them. Some in our group will recognize that; ds has read most of it (a few years ago) and one of B's dds has read it through at least once. I started the Silmarillion as a teen but never finished it. I did the same with The Brothers Karamozov, Les Mis, The Count of Monte Cristo, and others. A bad habit. I'll need to revisit those books some day and finish them.
Well, maybe not The Silmarillion, as much as I admire Tolkien. . . . I've heard it is very dry, just history -- and not even real history. It is just amazing the details of histories and cultures and languages he created!
On the agenda:
-a.m. routine
-coffee with dh
-library
-shopping
-lunch with dfriend
-laundry: towels focus
-tidy of living areas
-dd14 back to school by 4:20 for bus ride to synch. swimming meet! This means she'll be home for all of 20 - 25 minutes this afternoon. . . . I've decided not to go; this one is an hour away, it is just a figures meet (not routines yet), and the email expected parents to meet the girls at the school afterward. I checked with dd14 multiple times, and she seems fine with that. She is a very independent person. I will go to the local meets.
-get our Cmas tree, finally -- unless it is pouring down rain, which is a possibility. Dd14 is pushing us to get the tree, even though she won't be able to join us. She is a planner and a do-er and is getting worried that all the good trees have been taken, which is probably true. It's good to have a person like her in the family.
-dfriend A is coming over for dinner tonight, the only one of our Thursday crew still in town.
That should cover it.
