" In order that people may be happy in their work, these three things are needed: They must be fit for it. They must not do too much of it. And they must have a sence of success in it." John Ruskin
"Work is love made visible." Gibran
" Orare est laborare, laborare est orare." (" To pray is to work, to work is to pray." ) Benedictine order motto.
Our attitude to work counts for a lot. Sometimes a change of attitude helps.
I'm attempting to renew my attitude to housework and home making. It is doable. I can do it. One thing at a time, building routines, reaching out to do things left undone - it has to help in my quest to be at home within my home.

I thought of a way to make use of my diary for this year. The staff leave page has become my check list. I want to try to get to each item at least each month, though monthly would be great, and what I guess some folk do. Hey - some would do some of these daily. So in the spirit of that, I'm aiming at averaging 8 items 5 days a week. I guess its a variation of OKays excel broadsheet. The good news for me is there is no need to rewrite the list each month. it will be obvious if I keep avoiding a task or area.
today
tmeds. readings. sups. breakfast. bed changed. remade. sheets washed.
drink water, tried tea. washing onto line, 2nd load on
gift wrapped
emptied dish drainer. cleared some papers off counter.
ate lunch.
washing - some in, next lot out
washing in and away
lounge/couch clearance
washing in and away
veranda - do something - > table on veranda cleaned as good as i can get it
clean a bit of wall or a door. added some ammonia to ^ water for extra ummpft. then schubbed outside of house where green mildew is growing. then hosed it all off - and some windows too though I have no idea if they are any better.
yard - token pulled 5 weed treelets. found a new flower - it has some bulb. a win. its in a good place and I didn't plant it.
incoming ph call
walked dog
dinner is next for me.

Is this going to be a Wonderful Wednesday for you???
Well, here it is. My first morning back and every bit as hard as I thought. The alarm went off and I thought I cetainly must have set it wrong. But no, sadly I had to get up. I had a horrible time getting to sleep last night, but thats common after a weekend. It usually happens on Sunday night. And it is C-O-L-D out. All of 13 degrees. Its supposed to warm up to 27. WOOHOO! A heat wave. As long as the sun comes out, Im not going to care how cold it is. Awww geeeez, just heard on the radio the wind chill is only 5.
Scattered....dont worry about when you call, i'll be ok getting back up. If I dont answer, I am not ready to get back up tho lol. Thanks!!!!
I have all sorts of grand plans for my morning break, but as tired as I feel, we'll just wait and see on that! I have decided not to shower until I get back as its just too cold for my liking right now. A good washup will have to do. Oh, did I mention how good a shingles patch feels with Long Johns and jeans over it? Umm, yeah, not so good. The patch of blisters is on the back, upper left leg. A perfectly inconvienent spot.

itneverends and Lynlee were great minds thinking alike this morning, posting at the same time. So I've brought itneverends' here under Lynlee's two posts.
itneverends, my alarm clock was VERY rude this morning, too. Hope you feel better and this outbreak doesn't last long.
Oooh, I like those quotes, Lynlee!
Including this one.

INE and scattered, hope you both have a great day at work.
I need to fold 2 loads of laundry before I get started on the ornament removal. There is no time like the present, so off I go............

Good morning to the village. Yes, I woke up very sleepy and slow and couldn't figure out why Harriet was posting yet it sounded like INE? Dh had been up awhile and he also seemed to be talking very fast and I couldn't get that either.
Today I am making another attempt to get a vintage tobacco basket. May recall that I bought one on ebay over a month ago, and that it never arrived and I haven't been able to contact seller, and that I have an ebay case open and will prob get $$ refunded. So I bought another one last week - this one required pick up about two hours from here so today I will make a road trip to pick up. My hope is to leave town around 11 a.m.
Before then, several things to get done, starting with a.m. routine and some phone calls.
-take recycling to the street
-s2s
-make the bed
-call vet re appt for dMacs
-walk the ddogs
I'm having trouble getting started here....pass the BGS, please! (for our newer members, b-tt glue solvent, for unsticking the tuchas that appears to be stuck to this chair...)

Good morning, villagers ~
I've been up for a couple of hours already, but told myself that I needed to write a thank you letter and complete half of the library group's financial reports before I could check in. I'm taking a short break for breakfast and then will finish those reports.
Poor DH had a rocky start this morning. He's not used to having several days in a row off work, so the vacation between Christmas and yesterday was a good long break. I thought he was doing really well, got up with the alarm, ready and out the door on time. I was really surprised when he walked back in almost half an hour later. I'm not sure how far he got on the road when he remembered a couple things he needed at work and had to turn around.
I have a meeting at 1 this afternoon so must keep that in mind as I'm working.
Even though it feels like a Monday, it is in fact TRASH DAY. Trash and recycle bins must go to the curb tonight. I'll deal with those after my meeting.
