I'm D2S, kitchen opened and todays meals prep'd.

Next up - SHE cards set up for the day

I am just so nervous I can't stand it.
Dparents leave tomorrow. It will be at least 28 days, but could be much longer... aauugghgh I can't stand it.
Worried about how much I can ask of dh...
worried about travel possibility w/others...
worried about how dmom is going to make it through all this...
worried about taking care of dmom's business/banking while they're gone...
just WORRIED.
Thank the Lord I still have school to think about.

I wish the site had been down longer if it would have meant the slowness could be fixed.

Having some Site Success with hitting the back arrow and trying things a second time rather than just waiting.

((lucylee)), I would be worried, too. Set a time for your worry. I know the school bell will schedule you up to a point. But, for instance, decide not to worry while driving and instead listen to some oldie goldies radio, that sort of thing - Beach Boys, preferably. Sing along. Then, when there is time to yourself quietly, say, "Now I'm going to sit down and think about all this for ___ minutes." Repeat the consider the lilies verse before and after. They do not spin, and yet.... (I know it's different spinning! Work with me, here!)

Focus cleaning is on to bathrooms this morning. Sunny said yesterday,

thought about the next focus area (bathrooms). There's lots I would like to do, but can't now, but some things I can do to make both bathrooms better.

Check out Dave Barry's hysterical piece in many of yesterday's papers about The Great Everglades Python Hunt. (an online search for Dave Barry Everglades should find it, too). Here is the Miami Herald's (Barry's paper), with a subheadline that wasn't used in other cities! Now, I am personally deeply indebted to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation folks, who are trying to make my future (definitely in the Python path) brighter as they deal with a tough situation that is NOT funny. Sadly, these animals are not supposed to be in Florida and pose a lot of danger as they harm the environment and slither north and northwest, and the population must be reduced. But Barry is a Floridian and therefore uniquely qualified to see the humor in this (especially since he reminds us of his constitutional right to make these jokes). I was cackling by the second page.

It's errand day here, before the cold air arrives tonight. Snow has melted enough that I was excited to see grass in places this morning. Love the January thaw!!

Now to get moving...

Dh is moving along on the bathroom demolition. He has all the tile and it's backing off around the bathtub/shower. Tonight he is taking out the toilet, so that tomorrow him and a helper can wrestle the bathtub out of there. Saturday we decided on and purchased the tile. We also bought the light that he wants to put in the shower plus the shower faucet set. He also bought a hand sprayer set for it. He originally was going to put a seat in there in case one of us ever needs it due to age, injury or whatever. Then he found a teak seat that you use if necessary so decided against the built-in in seat. We found a vanity, mirror and cabinet for over the toilet but are still thinking of just keeping our vanity and replacing the top and the mirror. H ome D epot has a custom site to order vanity tops. He wants me to go back and double check the color, so that he can order it.

The master bath is a normal size bathroom. The main bath is not. It is a 15 1/2 ft. narrow room with the doorway, a 4 ft section of 3 doored cabinets across and 4 down. Then there is an 8 ft. wide, double sink vanity and countertop. The vanity has 2 sets of doors and 12 drawers. At the far end, the toilet is across from the vanity. Before you get to it, there is an opening to the right with a step up and you are in the bathtub/shower area. It is big enough that I will be able to have the wider bathtub that I want. It would cost a lot to replace the vanity and mirror, so they are staying but the countertop has to go. It has clamshell integrated sinks, that are pinkish with other colors thrown in. The whole bathroom is carpeted except for a small section that is tiled where the toilet is. We will be replacing the carpet with tile, plus there will be tile part way up the wall behind the tub. We also will tile part way up the long empty wall just to break it up. I am hoping to find a tan tile that has some navy in it. H ome D epot has nothing like that so I need to a local business that can get anything, if they make it.

Dh is taking before and after pictures. Since I am not computer literate enough to post them, I am hoping he will do that for me.

I plan on staying home today and getting my cleaning done. The bug guy will call me tomorrow to set up an appt. Then I can run errands.

I have had breakfast and meds, so I guess I better get moving and get something accomplished.

Warning vent ahead/ Last evening after I'd been working on getting laundry current all day h. decided he is hungry and needs dinner at 8 p.m. Sunday nite is fend for yourself nite, & around here stuff needs to be ready for me to wash for the next day like by seven thirty or so not just getting started at 8:00! He had already eaten dinner stuff for lunch so calories were consumed for the day early with ice cream on his pie for breakfast. When we was wanting some dinner I pointed this out. One still gets hungry even if a meal has been eaten earlier.

H. decided that the floor was sticky and it was my fault, sigh of course it's my fault after having to clean up after his dinner prep. NOT!
I was not happy! So I ended up mopping I told him I was going to do that today. There was a simple solution and I showed him where the mop was to get standing water on the floor up instead of tracking through it. He said it looked better but I was not really wanting to even talk to him at that point. Maybe he needs to do the house sitting alone! I will suggest that if he does not get over what ever is bugging him /vent rant over/

Changing my focus now to being more grateful and less grumpy always a good thing!
On the other hand it's good to get up and not have to do that floor!
I've been out to the chickens.
H. called in and is going in an hour later b/c we have new snow and it's still snowing.
Coffee is done.
My bs was up took meds. /waited a bit and had breakfast.
Chickens are up and out of the coop now eating.
Got 4 eggs yesterday.
Harriet I saw on CNN about the python hunt wondering how many they caught! Great article too!

Harriet, I had read of this Python Challenge but I am glad that you posted about Dave Barry's version. I love his humor. I hope that they can make a dent in the python population. I think it is Texas or maybe Oklahoma that has rattlesnake hunts every year. I know around here a bullsnake or 2 are welcomed on farms, but to me the only good snake is a dead snake. Period. Dd2s dmil and dfil live in the country. Over the years she has killed many rattlesnakes and other kinds too. Just this last spring, she was out in the garden cutting asparagus with a sharp knife. A rattlesnake decided to go between her legs and she just whacked his head off. No big deal. She is in her 80's!

did you see the airplane that had a python holding inside the plane but the whole back end was flying in the air (nothing like snakes on a plane - ok very bad joke )

today: laundry day, clean the laundry room - I missed the swiping last week and now am paying for it (it looks terrible - that's where the dogs dry off)
