How do you use FINAL TOUCHES to complete your chores or projects?
What do you regularly accomplish that's just not finished until you......?
Is there a specific finish to your dailies, or to one of your weeklies? Is there a ~~ flourish ~~ 
you always put on the end of a regular or seasonal chore?
What are your tips for completing tasks well? Do you have a problem with that, or methods to keep yourself from sidetracking (or yielding to perfectionism) before the FINISH?

went into town - visited a sale with $10 racks. bought some clothes in my size. 2 prs shorts and capri pants, and a blouse.

There was a break in the rain so walked dog when I got home.

Sleep well, Lynlee! Glad to hear you had a good shopping trip and (warm!) rain.
Things seem tentative at our house today, as freezing rain/sleet and "wintry mix" in Twin's Mom's area is now bearing down on us. Twins' would have had her bad weather for about 3 hours by now, and I doubt anyone is out and about in her area much right now. (btw, I did see her light on this a.m. so power outage must not have been a problem, then at least.) Last evening very late - maybe 10:30 p.m., we got a robo-call from the school system saying parent should prepare for early closing of schools. I know they want to avoid having to have a make-up day if they can. Several of dd's friends aren't going in to school at all, so she was a little down this morning. Before the school run, HRH warmed up the truck for us by going out to get gasoline and breakfast sandwiches at the local working-man's breakfast joint.
When I think of finishes, I think of my nearly superstitious ending to every night's Evening Daily Card. I prowl the house one more time, looking for any last dishes, and nag the family to make sure they didn't take any stray glass upstairs, etc. I am determined every dish needs to be either hand-washed or in the dishwasher by the time I turn the kitchen light out. Counters wiped up, no mess. This is a vestige, I know, of bad experiences long ago with ...mice. 
We haven't had those troubles lately (years?) but I'm convinced it's because of my evening FINISH. I turn on the dishwasher and back out of the kitchen with my eye on the counters like a bank robber eyeing the teller windows! 
Anyway, I'm on alert today for the school system's call or news report. 
Glad I got by the healthy foods store, at least, yesterday, as the tv stations are preparing us for a no-travel advisory. Thinking of ds27 and all first responders when this stuff starts up. Can't have snow, nooooooo. Gotta have the treacherous stuff.
MINUTES LATER - well, there was the announcement. The storm is so certain now, that the system has decided on a two-hour early release schedule. This is just the email, and the robo-call (s?) will follow, I'm sure. Lots of warnings about road conditions and "safe travel" mentions in this over-long formal statement. 
And the words dd says her teachers were all hoping for : "No makeup days will be necessary."

Harriet - Good Morning Harriet, I wish I had time to even tidy much less Finish anything.
Lynlee - Enjoy the rain, Sleep well.
Ugh, I stayed up to late last night and then did not want to get up this morning. It is COLD 16*... we don't get this cold. I talked to DAunt/BFF yesterday and it was colder here than in Palmer, Alaska. The furnace is almost constantly running and I turned it down to 68* at this hour. I picked up another space heater last night and DS20 just set it up.
I need to get a move on it, have an hour to drive to my first patient this morning. Won't get to the office until around 2pm and then have to leave around 3:30pm. I have/get to work tomorrow to make up for Tuesday and then have a party to go to, so Sunday will be my only day off and I have TONS to get done.
Need to get my poop in a group real quick here... need to be out the door in about 15 minutes.

Last night was a bust in the sleep dept. When I WAS sleeping, I was having dreams about dd2s employees and their weird lives. Problem is none of these people work at dd2s store and furthermore, I have never seen them in my life! How is that possible to dream like that? Everytime I fell back asleep, the dream continued like a soap opera. I have had that before, just not with a bunch of people that I don't know. Dd2 and I didn't even discuss employees yesterday, so I don't know where it came from. When dhs alarm went off, he woke me up to make sure I was all right. He said I felt clammy and it alarmed him. So I checked my bs and it was fine. Went back to bed for an hour and maybe slept 20 minutes.
I need to get a shower, breakfast and meds. Dd2 may need to go to neighboring town to Hobby Lobby and asked me to ride along. If she can find what she needs here, she won't need to make the trip. She should know by 9 am or so. Either way, I need to buy groceries sometime today.
Harriet and Twins, be careful. I hate freezing rain. On more than one occasion it has caused power outages. 6 years ago, we had an ice storm that caused power outages due to the weight of the ice on power lines. Some iced power lines took down the metal poles. We had the first ice storm on Dec.20. I only remember it because it was dgs7s 1st birthday. Then it turned around and did the same thing at New Years. In between we had had snow. It was a real mess.

On the treadmill now.
Made an observation. Despite getting to bed for lights out at 10, I still needed to stay in bed until 7:40 and had my eyes shut until after 7. I opened them at 6:25 (8.4 hours of sleep) but had to close them again and doze, listening to the radio. So I appear to need at least 9.5 hours in bed overnight. On the other hand, I'm only having the occasional nap, even fewer now that I'm warm enough during the day due to extra layers.
So there's progress on the hepatitis recovery front - I'm still in bed about 10 hours a day but I no longer am having to stop for an afternoon nap to make part of that time. This is a good thing. If I know I have to be up late at night (i.e. out for a meeting), I'll still take a nap but otherwise, I can skip them if I get enough rest overnight.

Not quite a weather event here, Harriet, although schools and lots of places have closed for the day. We had a little rain earlier that has frozen on the grill and outside chairs but I can see that there's no problem on the roads, which almost look dry. Whatever, I've given myself permission for a quiet morning at home, and I may even go back to bed, justifying it with my sleep apnea probable diagnosis.
DH and I are planning for Shabbat dinner here at home tonight, and I'm going to pick up salmon and make challah today. We have salad stuff and veggies.
I'd like to also work some upstairs in bonus room, getting the area for my desk cleared out so we can start with assembly this weekend. Tomorrow night we have a fundraising "auction" event and Sunday will attend a memorial service followed by a meal of consolation. I need to figure out what I should take to eat, if anything. (Some are catered.) I'm going to enjoy my three-day weekend, may be the last before tax season.

I hope we have a similar experience, Twins' Mom, but signs don't point that way. Chicken chores were amusing. Hens rushed out to sleet-on-the-ground disappointment, looked up, "Have you seen this weather?" and marched right back in the house. I've fixed them warm (for now) water and new feed inside and locked them back up, so that they are as safe as I can make them for the short haul. At least they had their usual "morning rush" for fresh air and exercise.
Principal of this high school made his own email/robo announcement and said he's dismissing at 11:30, 11:45 for bus riders, nearly an hour earlier than the school system's announcement said. He says if your child is a car-rider (not a driver), come on and pick them up as early as 10:30 and they will be counted present for the full day. He'll keep car driving students in until 11:30, 15 minutes earlier than bus riders.
He's a smart cookie, really - he's minimizing the chaos and minimizing his school's liability as well. The problem is, picking up a student before that student is actually dismissed means parking in the far parking lot, walking on a long, long sidewalk, waiting on the child, and both of you walking that long trip back to your vehicle. I don't fancy it - not in the sleet we are already getting.
Lilac, the ice-laden trees and power lines have always been my greatest fear with eldercare. It's happened many times with losses of power, blocked roads and driveways, and was the initial cause of the first dip in my mother's health that put her in the hospital for several days. I don't know what we would have done if it had happened when we had 3 of my dear aunts all on the same power line and all too weak for trips to other homes for warmth. We were blessed to dodge bullets during those times. I'm sure with "all hands on deck" and the various cousins working together we could have come up with solutions, but thank goodness we never had to find out.

Good Morning!
We really had to scramble this morning. Besides LO doing his AM cards, he had to do 2 pages of homework, find something for show-n-tell (letter P) and read a library book. I didn't know how we were going to get it all done until I discovered his library book had NO WORDS! The entire book was just pictures.
Yesterday was a long day that kept us out of the house until after LO bedtime. Everything feels undone. Stuff is not picked up. Tables and counters are covered in stuff. I'm eager to get things put where they belong.
IMHO, the "final" in finishing up a task or day well is being surrounded by a good feeling that I did my best, peaceful and easy living. Easy living because there is a place for everything and everything is in its place.

This whole week has been pretty much a total loss as far as any thing being accomplished on the homefront.
Except I did iron about half of dh's clothes, and got a lot done for dmom, I guess.
Otherwise, it has been mostly spent in grandma-duty. (But that's okay. A 7-month-old's smile is worth a whole lot more than a clean bathroom, IMHO.
)
So, final touches would be ANY touches at all.
Hope all of you in the ice storm path stay warm & safe!!! We are on a 2.5 hour delay... and we have N O T H I N G... nothing, absolutely nothing. (I'm not complaining! I LOVE IT!!!)
Better s2s and get on with it though. 2.5 hours are not infinity... and I used my extra time sleeping!
