I had the hardest time coming up with a topic for this morning's thread. I am exhausted... but I have patients to see and bills to pay so it is off to work I go.

What are you going to tackle today?

Thanks for the opening today scattered.

I'm late for LR lights out.
bin day. wrestled a palm frond into submission - think 20' long ...
Dishes are done. floor is swiped from where ddog shuffled around with a bone.
waving goodnight to the village.
I need transfer my notes and dates onto a calendar re pay tv cancellation. I think I will cancel it properly and not be swayed by their sweet talk. Well - thats been the plan twice before.

That's a good concept, scattered - sometimes it takes a swish or a swipe but, yes, sometimes we need to really put our shoulders into it!

Amazed at Lynlee's area's terrible difficulties during the flooding. I hope police communications were righted quickly. How sad about the child. Makes me feel wimpy about complaining of our sleet and ice storm here. Our count came in for our county and was published - Medic had to respond to 80 injuries, mostly vehicle. But even though that was astonishing, no deaths. All this happened within a 48-hour window and then sunshine put an end to it - just a really fast sweep of slick danger for sure.

Fascinating to try narrowing down locales and remember incidents, Kathryn.

Sunny, I'm glad you had enjoyment with cousins after they got well.

helia, awww... just 15 minutes with his family on his birthday! Oh well, chocolate and anticipation of a celebration later - definitely a good deal !

Wonder if BookSaver lost power. Hope she's still technologically connected! Btw, remembering conversation here from a few days ago, I always feel connected to you, BookSaver!

I need a plan for houseguests coming this weekend. Can't seem to organize those thoughts, but will have HRH with me part of the day. Maybe he can see the needs clearly.

Tackling the day here as well. I suspect I will have two time sensitive tasks competing for my work time today - will have to see how that shakes out. Dh and I both need to be at the 7 p.m. meeting so I may becoming home to feed and walk ddogs before I go.

Need to gather lunch/snacks and I'm off to work. Finished up my writing last night and emailed it this morning.

Good morning! I'll be leaving in about 20 minutes to meet a friend for coffee. This woman is new to the area as of last fall and is in my moms group small group.

Later in the day, dd14 has her sewing/design lesson at 3:30. I think they're finishing the mock up of a cute skirt she designed! Then, I'll take dd14 to synchro 5:30 - 7:30. I need to run some other errands this afternoon too - library, GFS, post office, perhaps Trader Joes. A visit to the gym would be good too.

Non-errand goals: progress on New Year cards, progress on letters on the desk and/or photos on the old laptop.

Have a good morning, all!

Today we tackle the ceiling. There is no break between rooms so it covers the laundry/hall area, kitchen and living room. I found yesterday that I can cut in the areas faster than DH so I will give him the roller and the extension stick to roll the ceiling and I will get on the ladder with a brush and do the cut in.

The exciting thing is that my appliances come today. The robo call said between 12:30 and 2:30. The contractor will install them tomorrow.

I will go out in a few minutes and start some chili in the crock pot. That way we can have a hot meal today. Yesterday was hot dogs in the toaster oven for lunch and out to eat for dinner. (French onion soup and small plate spring rolls - YUM)

I am eager to cook on my new range. It has a long burner in the middle for a griddle. I just happen to have a really nice cast iron griddle from our camping days (vs our RVing days).

Yippie - delivery driver just verified our delivery!!

I'd better get moving. TTFN

I am so far behind here I may never get cuop! :| I've been thoroughly exhausted for nigh on to a week and have accomplished practically nothing in the last few days.

DS-A & family left for home Saturday morning and (as I fairly suspected) were home about 3:30a.m. Sunday morning. Straight through, Harriet. :? I'm sure night time saw a lot less traffic and no construction. They were planning to leave Friday mid-day but I'm sure the weather midway (VA across to NC) gave them pause. DDIL sent pictures of dgs 6months -happy as anything still. She said yesterday since he's gotten home he's been non-stop laughing, playing, sitting and talking. Learned to say Ma-ma & Da-da on Thursday. Of course he's had about a week and a half of non-stop doting.

DH has taken dsonil to a neighboring city hospital for a procedure on his back today. I've delivered gd to school. DD is at her co-teacher's dh's car shop finishing up lettering on their 1/2 scale race car. Her class is building it and Lego Land has a special day today sponsored by F ord and they're displaying it all day. Next month she and co-teacher have passes to everything at Daytona (garage and infield, etc). So they'll be missing the week at school, but it's all sponsored by an educational seminar from C lemson U.

Had to run dd's ID over to her. So now will get busy and work on the kitchen.
