Art is the desire of a man to express himself, to record the reactions of his personality to the world he lives in.
Amy Lowell : American Poet
Born: February 9, 1874 - Died: May 12, 1925

And so our mothers and grandmothers have, more often than not anonymously, handed on the creative spark, the seed of the flower they themselves never hoped to see - or like a sealed letter they could not plainly read.
Alice Walker

'Thank you' is the best prayer that anyone could say. I say that one a lot. Thank you expresses extreme gratitude, humility, understanding.
Alice Walker

Helped are those who create anything at all, for they shall relive the thrill of their own conception and realize a partnership in the creation of the Universe that keeps them responsible and cheerful.
Alice Walker

I try to teach my heart not to want things it can't have.

A fine good morning/good evening dear lynlee!!!! and to all our dear SHE family!!!

ddyounger is going to ACT testing today. She never gets nervous or stressed and today she is overwhelmed with stress. I think she is thinking that all of her college future rests on - It's a lot of pressure to put on oneself plus she doesn't test well even though her grades are good.

Goal: work on girls bathroom again. more joint compound to be used. ;)

sending a smile your way :D :!:

Greeting blessed - GL to DD at the testing.

I had a big dream for today, but my actions didn't follow in any way.
I had / needed a dog led dinner - with him rousing me even after he was fed - to keep at it until I was well enough fed. I used have a cat would do something similar - though their personalities are very different.

Cowinkle - I do spectacularly badly at word stem exercises on luminosity. I have been surprised that I have taken to the code puzzles on Luvatts. Though sometimes I just try every letter left until I find one that works.

Its later than my curfew. I need to shut the computer down and make tracks.
Good night all.
PS - MT's birthday tomorrow - I hope everything is going well if you look in.

Good Morning Villagers!!!

Lynn....your opening always make me smile. Thank you

Blessed...Praying for ddy...I remember my dd's tests. She was a wreck and did wonderfully. Prayers to yours for the same.

Well, I have been MIA here for too long and man, oh man, is my house paying the price. I have been working nearly non stop for two weeks, doing just the bare necessities for two weeks. I was scheduled to work last night, but on Thursday I decided that I was sick and tired of late night trips on or going into the weekends, so I took my name of the schedule. As it was, the snow storm brought everything to a grinding halt and I wouldnt have had to work anyhow. Which is good in another way too because after driving all afternoon in that storm, I was beyond exhausted when I was done. i was able to get up this morning, not exhausted from a late night and not having to anticipate going into work for another long one today. I am almost giddy with delight at haveing all this time at home. Silly, I know, but I am nontheless.

Speaking of the storm, the snow totals around this area are varying. I am guesstimating we got about 8 inches and its still snowing lightly. Supposed to get another 2-3. When its all said and done, DH will go out and start digging the driveway and walkway out. I must say tho, that my backyard is stunningly gorgeous with the way all the snow has fallen on the trees. Quite a deight to wake up to. For about a minute, lol. And I am quite thankful I am not on the eastcoast. Forecasted to recieve 2plus feet. Those poor people, one thing after another.

Having all this time this weekend, I am surely hoping to put it to good use and get rid of the ick I feel when I think about how much I HAVEN'T done around here.

So without further adooooooooo....

Got to bed very late but got Feb 17 service done, just 1 large and 2 small prayers to write. Still no good idea for the sermon but that will come.

Have made up a to-do list for today, not a schedule. We'll see if that works better. Have to add grocery shopping to it.

Twins - I'm going to be sending you a PM as soon as I finish this post

Kathryn - Way to go on the service!

I woke up early especially since I didn't go to bed until late, although I did take a nap yesterday evening. Unfortunately I woke up with a killer headache that is better but lingering. Just took my stronger meds... hopefully it will help.

Question? Is there to dirty to color your hair? Could I rinse it with Vinegar and then color it?

I will say a prayer for your dd, blessed. Those tests can be stressful for the kids, can't they? My dd17 will be in that situation in about a month; she also needs to take the SAT, but we haven't scheduled that yet. Maybe some SAT subject tests too -- not sure. Those depend on which schools she's applying to. No, college entrance does not hinge on test scores. And kids can always retake the tests if they want to; I think most Universities just take the highest subscore for each topic and put together a new score for the student - or something like that.

The snow does sound beautiful, INE!! The storm didn't give us much, but it wasn't predicted to either.

Dh and I had a short discussion this a.m. and have decided to forgo clearing the drive in light of the facts that (1) we're not expecting a group of people to come to our house in the next couple of days and (2) it is supposed to be above freezing and rainy tomorrow, as well as above freezing most days next week. . . . We're thinking the snow will be gone in a couple days anyway.

The sun is shining here with blue skies - and it is gorgeous with the snow!

Today:
-get the SS lesson hammered out. I have the teacher's notes, which are excellent; I just need to know them and the flow of the lesson cold -- b/c once I start teaching and fielding input from the kids, I can't really stop to look at my notes.
-finish the last cards
-maybe gym?
-iron shirt for tonight
-dd14 to and from synchro practice
-take dd14 to synchro team dinner tonight
-go to dh's dept. dinner tonight.

We have snow in AZ, too. Woke this morning to about 1/2 of snow covering all the cacti and roofs. Temp about 35 so it will melt soon. I was able to get out and get some pictures.

We can't see the mountains as they are covered in clouds. Hope the clouds go away before the snow melts.

Woke at 3 am and couldn't move without pain in my neck. Somehow slid out of bed and got the ice pack and went back to sleep in my chair. It only has twinges now so I will take some OTC pain meds and get back to decorating the house.

First up is breakfast.
