Those who bring sunshine into the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves.

Good Morning!
We are having a slow start to the day. Wonderfully slow in a good way.
Later today we will be attending birthday party for 3 year old DNephew. I have found myself scrambling to purchase birthday gifts twice this week that required driving over 100 miles to purchase them. As LO is invited to more and more parties, I see the need to establish a gift stash.
That reminds me I need to get a baby shower gift ordered ASAP. Going to do that right now....

Hello Dear Ladies,
The temp is cool this morning, in the 30's but the sun is shining so brightly that it will warm up soon.
Going in an hour later than usual today due to cut backs. It's okay just going to enjoy a slower morning for a bit.
Hope all have a wonderful day!

Blessed - yeah, but most of my miles are done @ 75 mph with little traffic. so at least they are as quick as can be. What are you going to get into today?
Scattered - You do an outstanding job of juggling all you are handling. Give yourself a well deserved POTB!
Sadie - Have a great day!
Baby gift ordered. This gift is for first baby of 2 lovely people in their late 30's. Excited doesn't begin to describe their joy at finally being able to have a baby. The father went to school with DSon for 12 years. The new Mom is our bank teller. They live less than 2 miles from us .
Things that make me go hummmmmm....... LO is watching cartoons on the Spanish channel

What a nice quote!
Oh, how exciting for the couple near you having their first baby, OK!!
I love news like that!
You do go, go, go scattered. I really admire all you do on your own, and it seems like your dsons are growing into thoughtful young men. --I know they have their moments, but don't we all?
enjoy your slower morning, sadie.
I'm leaving in a minute to take dd14 to synchro practice. I'll pick her up again at 1:40. I may/may not join dh at the soup kitchen this afternoon; it is unclear whether or not he has enough help. I also need to make a gluten-free dessert for small group tonight; must go to the groc. store before I can do that.
Dh has too much to do today, as usual. He wants to get his exams graded (he is doing 1/4 of them; there are about 110? students altogether), soup kitchen 2 - 6? depending on how many are there to help clean up. Small group starts at 5 (he'll be late) and he is sharing his life story with us tonight, so he needs to prep that a little. AND he is leaving town tomorrow a.m. early, so he needs to pack and perhaps prep for that, though I think he's already worked on prep - and he can (and always does) work on the plane. . . . .

Sunny here. I'm up. Just finished breakfast and tummy is upset again. Sigh....
Did my exercise, tidy bedroom, s2s, and inventory the basement freezer.
Time to go meet the boys to babysit them.

Good morning, villagers ~
Sidetracked already this morning by checking Email and seeing a link to One Good Thing by Jillee's blog for homemade lemon vinegar to use for cleaning. Fresh lemons always seem like an expensive luxury to me here in Iowa, especially mid-winter. Jillee's photos are so pretty, though, that they make me want to go to Sam's and invest in a big bag of lemons. She has uses for every part of the fruit but the seeds -- and she's probably working on something to do with them!
Taking a tip from last weekend, the only thing I'm planning for this weekend is pizza for lunch today. Even that isn't certain until DH gets up. He has pizza for lunch at work frequently and isn't always in the mood for it at home.
I had originally scheduled today to take several boxes of extra books from the library to a used book store in The Big City. Sometimes they will give us a better price than we can charge at our annual summer booksale. However, I just remembered that the store is having a big event this weekend. That makes it the worst possible time to try to take anything in, since they need all of their staff at the registers rather than researching prices.
Which works out better for me anyway. I was supposed to have had this whole week to work on the house instead of doing any volunteer stuff. Didn't work out. Rather than spending a large block of time hauling those books to sell, I can use the time at home on a Focus area.
First must finish the 1st draft of the sewing group's annual budget. I'm having to guess at a lot of numbers just to get a response from the rest of the board so they'll give me more realistic figures at Tuesday's meeting. Then I can re-do the spreadsheet Wednesday morning.
Reminder to self: Measure the doors & shelves in the upstairs bathroom vanity to start looking for pull-out baskets. I'm tired of having to get down on the floor to reach to the back of the cabinet. (Actually I'd love to replace the whole vanity & sink, they're much too large for the tiny room -- but that's a remodeling project of much lower priority than others.)
