If you have any ideas or quotes for motivation - please share them if you have time.

today's birthdays. Just a couple.

If you desire to be pure, have firm faith, and slowly go on with your devotional practices without wasting your energy in useless scriptural discussions and arguments. Your little brain will otherwise be muddled.

Smile in the mirror. Do that every morning and you'll start to see a big difference in your life.

I just want to be healthy and stay alive and keep my family going and everything and keep my friends going and try to do something so that this world will be peaceful. That is the most ambitious and the most difficult thing, but I'm there trying to do it.

LynLee - Good Evening, sleep tight.

I finally found and put my electric blanket on my bed last night, so I slept very cozy. DS14 doesn't have school today, but unfortunately I have both school and work today. Need to get going and finish my SDR & GRWR.

Have a great day Villagers.

On the third day of our let's-straighten-ourselves-out weekend, with snow trying to melt, I successfully moved the wake-up time and go-to-bed time so that the rest of week won't seem so jarring. (I hope)

Got busy with normal morning daily card, but pulling (and tugging) dd14 into it with me. We've gotten the Lights laundry load done and good breakfasts into each of us, my ddad's morning routine accomplished, and a plan for half-hours for her. She'll alternate between English reading, guitar practice and room organizing.

Have a call in to the dr's office, but it seems like pulling teeth to get them to see amazingly obvious things. I hate it when my chief purpose seems to be nagging people.

Thanks for opening us again with great quotes, Lynlee. Oh, that was rude of dneighbor to leave dog's dump in your driveway.

Have a great day at work, scattered!

I'm happy to read your dd14 is still playing the guitar, Harriet. I didn't know if that had changed with the new semester.

I have not yet started Downton Abbey season 3, but a friend's fb post last night was a major spoiler. What a bummer!!

Well, today holds a mystery, namely whether or not dfriends are calling at my house this morning. I emailed them last night asking them to let me know if they were coming or not, but I'm not sure they're checking email on their travels. I just hope they got mine regarding time constraints - and I now need to leave a tad earlier b/c I am bringing in dh's exams and handing them off to one of his grad students.

--Ah! They just called! They actually returned home to Ohio yesterday. We're thinking of a summertime camping weekend together now. It was very nice to chat with her. It is also nice to now know how I can structure my a.m. - more time on finishing Hebrew, a little time on housework.

Off to finish the a.m. routine and then work on Hebrew.

I got up early this morning and finally got my blog with a few more pictures of the house up.

Then I finished the prototype of the small jail out of craft sticks that I am making for decor for the La Fiesta celebration on March 1 & 2. Only problem is that I don't have enough craft sticks. AND I can't remember the name of the lady that said she had some.

Committee meeting at 1 so hopefully one of the gals on the committee will remember who she is.

Exhausting day yesterday with too many commitments. Going to have to learn to say no or at least spread them out a bit. Neck and back also kept me from a good night's sleep.

Next up is breakfast and meds - long hot shower for my neck and get moving for the day.

It is Family Day here (a contrived holiday so people can have a 3 day weekend in February.) Nothing changes in this house, but then dh works 7 days a week most weeks. He once said how fortunate he was to get to take 30 day vacations. I pointed out that most 'normal' people get 104 days off plus another 10 - 15 days of vacation so his 30 days off once a year isn't that impressive. There are precious few days he doesn't put in at least 60 minutes on work items, normally closer to 3 hours on weekend days and at least 9 hours on week days.

Choir practice is canceled due to the holiday. Our musician's dh is home today (since stores are closed) so they will actually take advantage of some family time. Most stores are closed, along with municipal and provincial government and schools. The federal government is open so that makes it weird here with about 25% of the people in this city working for the federal government. There will be mail service too. But no banking (despite that being federally regulated.)

Not sure about the hospital. If I recall, ds will not get holiday pay for today.

I slept in a bit and am slow moving but there's a load of laundry on the line and I've s2s and had breakfast.

Next up - watch the last episode of Upstairs Downstairs while reclaiming the kitchen which is a disaster area.

With dh working for the NZ government, I've had to figure out what his hours will be like. Their time zone is "5 hours behind us, tomorrow", so if it is 11 a.m. Monday here, it is 6 a.m. Tuesday for them. That means their normal business hours will be 2 p.m. - 10 p.m. our time, and Sunday to Thursday. So I need to not plan things for Sunday afternoon but can plan things for Friday afternoon. And give up on expecting to spend evenings doing things with dh. I'm not sure what will happen to our routine of watching an hour of tv while we eat dinner. Since that could be timed with their lunch hour, I think it might still work. He's already said he won't be around on their Tuesday morning (choir practice Monday afternoon here) and we'll have to shift our walk for the mail to mornings - although between my knees and the extreme cold weather this winter, we haven't walked for the mail in about a month.

Playing catch up from the weekend today. Went for a walk this morning with ddog but it is only in the 20s so we cut it short because the wind made it feel even colder. Still, the sunshine was nice :) .

Lynlee, here is a link to The Daily Motivator, written by Ralph Marston. Every day there is a new paragraph or two. I found this years ago on Pam & Peggy's old website; he is very positive & uplifting.

Dh & I spent an hour on basement decluttering the other day. Set aside many things for donation & filled 1 & a 1/2 large garbage bags. Saved a few things from five different boxes into one box. This is the beginning of our laundry & basement redo --- we must get rid of excess clutter before doing anything else. I sketched out a future floor plan for this area that dh likes, too, so it is exciting to have a new vision for this space.

Off to the adventures. Waving ~~~ to everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful day. :)

Hello everyone!

Just learned something from LYNLEE! Apparently Yoko Ono is American...I always thought she was British. :)

KATHRYN'S talk of Family Day reminded me that it is President's Day here, so there won't be any mail today. Will save myself having to go out in the cold.

Dh is still sick. Can't remember the last time he missed work due to sickness. It does seem to be Norovirus. So far, I am fine. Will be using Clorox today to clean in bathroom. Thanks, HARRIET, for that reminder. He eats lunch out everyday, so we suspect he picked this up last Thursday or Friday at one of his usual eateries. I am using a different bathroom than his and slept in the guest room last night. Have to say that mattress is wonderful!

Have crackers and jello ready if Dh decides he can eat today. We will see.

Going to check out that link from DOVE now. Wishing you all a great day!

PC is giving me fits today I have chick questions if you know please share thanks.

Do chicks need grit?
Have you fed them corn meal or medicated feed or non medicated feed?
Do you give 'em vitamins in their water?

I've been calling around and can't find the one breed that h. picked out chicks will be in tomorrow in one place. Doubt we will get them that soon.
