I recall seeing Conga Friday links to fruity headwear, and enthusiastic action to music.
If this sounds helpful - please post some links and get set for action.

Hi everybody!

I've been over on the Cruise Critic message boards this morning. There are currently 2 Carnival ships that are having problems. No fires or anything awful. Unfortunately, as things happen these days, the media reports are blowing it all out of proportion. One is at a dock in St. Martin with propulsion issues, so the passengers are being flown home from St. Maarten/St. Martin (I don't know which side of the island they are docked on-Dutch or French). The other one is skipping an island so they can get back to Tampa on time but it isn't clear what their issue is. So if you hear that there is a fire on one of them, because that is what CNN was showing (Footage from the Triumph from last month), feel free to ignore the reports.

If you travel anywhere, please take your passport with you.

Headed to work for my last day of work for a MONTH!! Woo hoo!!

TGIF!
Change in plans. Ddil is going to pick up dgs later this morning, and then we won't get him back until Sunday afternoon.
We love to keep him -- but as dh said last night, there is definitely a reason people have children when they are younger.

It is forecast to get up to 45 today. Then, we may get up to 2 inches snow tonight. Bleh! Not unusual for March in Michigan, but not a favorite thing either. March can be a hard month up here with the yes/no of spring arriving/not arriving. Daffodils are up around town, though, so we know spring is on its way!

I will spend most of today running errands getting ready to leave town for the weekend - the church women's retreat. Dfriend will pick me up around 5 pm. This is the friend who, with her dh, runs a bio. research lab for the med school here. She has the PhD, her dh has the MD. Neither of us feels strongly about going to all the sessions/being on time for all the sessions, so I think we're well-paired.

Off to get the day going.

Cathy Passport is so important. The general consensus is that the Triumph would have made land days earlier had it been going to Mexico (because the tugs would have arrived sooner and it wouldn't have drifted as far.) But they delayed because 1/3 of the passengers didn't have passports and the cost to get them home would have been so much higher.

If something goes wrong (i.e. you discover you HATE cruising, or in my dsisil's case, your father dies) you can get off the ship in any port and fly yourself home. On our first cruise a family presented themselves at the pursers office to leave the ship in Key West but we didn't go into that scheduled port so they were captive on the ship for the next 4 days, hating it. We hated it too but kept expecting it to get better. It didn't so we decided never to cruise again. (And would not have except dh was given a free cruis in order to teach on a ship and that cruiseline handled hiccups better than the first cruise line and we wanted to cruise again after that experience.)

I'm up. Slept better. Throat is achy but coughing is less so maybe it will heal today.

Good morning!

SUNNY, your family meal on Sunday sounded very good! I used to live close to an IKEA and had some good meals there. We would sit and look out at the snowy woods surrounding the place.

CATHYS, I noticed that the news was exaggerating about cruise problems. Also, Dh and I need to renew our passports. Not planning to leave the country, but like to be prepared!

Waving to everyone else!

Had a good day yesterday. Cracked tooth is repaired. Visited thrift store and saw a friend there. Also found a picture and a plate to hang in kitchen. Finally visited home remodeler's showroom. Not impressed. Going back to L owe's to pick out some things to get the ball rolling around here. Sure love the extra daylight in the evenings. Now if it will just get warm outside, Dh and I can start our evening walks again. BTW, I did 10 minutes on that dreaded NordicTrak yesterday! Need to start slowly. :)

Lynlee, I thought it would be a breeze to find the link your opening made me remember. But surprisingly (and happily) the words "Conga Friday" are used so frequently here that the search feature can't call up all the posts or even titles! LOL! (We ARE hard workers, are we not?)

Anyway, I finally found a rerun of it by adding the word "video", but still didn't find the original post, so I thought I'd actually better post today to keep "track" of it! LOL! This was me posting on October 11, 2011... ...

I'm sorry, bittersweet! I did post this paragraph at first, but then deleted it, saying to myself, "Oh, they don't want to see that clip again!"

A refresher on Friday Conga moves. Attitude is everything. Notice in the middle the demonstration of reaching low surfaces, and at the end the proper exit of a room after cleaning.

Hey, it's the Ides. But we have little to beware! :D

TaDas for my Conga-ing morning at the Crossroads of Order for the Day:

2 loads of laundry through to drip-dry
Cleaned microwave
Cleaned microwave counter
Cleaned sink-to-stove counter
General work on Dining area (which is the Focus cleaning room this week)

TaDas yesterday afternoon at my parent's house

1 load of laundry through to back-on-the-bed
swept den, kitchen, mud room, small bathroom
cleaned main bathroom
cleaned surfaces in the kitchen

3 x 5 today there -

towels load of laundry
vacuum carpets
sweep porch

Errands needed today -
pharmacy 1
grocery

ellyphant, good job on the tooth and the exercise.

Sunny, what a great meal, especially when prepared by someone else! My dstepdil is like that too - gotta appreciate these ddils who are good cooks and generous to bring extra dishes to get-togethers.

March weather - helia, the wind here makes it almost impossible to go without hat, band or scrunchie. I sidle the vehicle windows up to the mailboxes and my ddad's paper box to try to avoid the amazing winds. Still, dd hates to reach out into the wind on her side and dreads that a mail piece might blow away. It's bringing April showers, right? And then May flowers? :)

Happy for you, Cathy, have fun!

Good sleep does make for healing, Kathryn. Hope it is so for you.

Itneverends and Kathryn - how is the joint and muscle pain?
