Ah, optimism! yes, a good way to lean into life. With hope. Today is forecast to be clear and sunny, w/ temps up to 73!! I must say, nice weather always makes me feel more optimistic.

I have a full day today, partially b/c I was a bit lazy yesterday.

Scheduled activities for today:
- moms group 8:45 - 12:00-ish, set up, meeting, clean up
- meet to pray with my prayer partner?
- last bit of shopping for dh's birthday: mall, maybe an art store downtown, WF for flowers and crusty bread for the fondue
- call in coffee and bagel order to Panera for moms group cleaning party tomorrow
- pick up dd14 from school at 3:30 for her 4:00 sewing lesson
- jog during her sewing lesson; the neighborhood is flat, unlike our neighborhood, and well "sidewalked." (I think I just made up a word!)
- prep for dh's bday dinner: make sure gifts are wrapped, steam brussel sprouts and cauliflower, cut up bread, make cheese fondue, make the chocolate souuffle' - after dinner
- dh's bday dinner! Dfriends S and R will be here. The order: dinner, opening gifts, dessert + "speeches"
- ds is joining us. I hope dd17 can fetch him. I'll likely bring him home.
- I need to review directions for cleaning nursery rooms and gather supplies for that activity tonight

I'm off to s2s, gather things, and then leave in 30 minutes. I may not be back today. Have a great day ladies!

Helia, I had noticed that scattered and itneverends have not posted recently. I hope all is well with them.

We had a dusting of snow overnight. We are to have high winds until noonish. I think I will stay home and clean. Then tomorrow I can buy groceries and run errands.

I was here earlier and posted (right after Lilac), but as I suspected my post was lost. Had some message that net was unable to display the page right after I hit submit. Grrrr. I'm beginning to wonder if my problems with my new computer logging in here are not related to problems with the internet within the house. Am going to pay someone soon to figure it out i think.

Yes, Lilac, gd went to the Youth Ranch on Tuesday. She was ready to come home when she had to sign one paper (after her parents) that gave permission for her to weed/mow. They had a lot to sign -her included. She could be there 18 months or longer. Some stay through graduation. Since she's only in 7th grade, that's a long time. But part of what they'll do is try to get her caught up. She'll have summer school -goes to school right on campus -which is gorgeous btw. There's 10 girls in her house -2 girls to a bedroom, with 4 to a bathroom. Won't she like that! Sharing is definitely not in her vocabulary. DD has mixed emotions right now and understandably so. Told her to look at it as parents who drop a child off at college. A new normal will develop. At least she can come home at night without absolutely dreading it.

Going to see a friend from up north in a little while -they're leaving to go home next Thursday. I will be leaving around May 17th. Depends on when dd can get going. She has reservations to come back on may 21st. Her co-teacher might take over her class later that day. That would be nice if we could get up into GA that day.

Can't leave here before the 17th as i have to do the Sunday bulletin first. I've helped the secretary here both last year & this. Been doing it on my own for a while since she's having severe back problems. But on Tues she fell getting up from her computer at home and broke her ankle in 2 places -having surgery tomorrow. She had planned to go to MI in a couple of weeks & staying through Mother's Day. Doubt she'll be doing that now. I was staying until then to fill in. Have no clue what they'll do when we're both gone. Perhaps they'll go without a bulletin for a while. In addition the pastor whom was coming here from upstate NY, called last week and had changed his mind. So our search committee is starting over again. Sure that's not what they want to do -especially since 1) the secretary is on that committee and the chair just lost his wife (my very close friend) and was planning to go back to IN very shortly to be near family. Big dilemma no matter how we look at it.

Dfriend just called so am on my way out the door. BBL -(she says hopefully).

Ate breakfast, straightened my hair (it was awfully unruly and although I'm not going out today I decided to make myself look presentable to me), opened the mail, gave dh an errand list, and have been doing sorting and filing of papers that are taking over the kitchen table.

Also monitoring email because the church secretary is printing today and waiting for a call from the chair of the board to get a motion ready to ask for help from the Presbytery. Emailed the minister to ask how she was doing and tell her that everything is well under control. She's a control freak and I know she'll worry if I don't assure her. Who am I kidding, she'll worry anyway but hopefully, she'll worry less.
