What word comes to your mind when you think of today?

I didn't have a great idea for today's subject so hopefully someone else will provide it.

I'm thinking of LucyLee and hope her trip to visit DParents is going well.

I slept less than 4 hours because LO coughed for hours last night. I tried three different remedies that normally work but none of them were successful last night. Putting him in a different room seemed to help a little, however I found myself wondering if was it the environment change or simply exhaustion that cause the improvement. I just put him back into the bedroom and he hasn't started coughing again so I'm leaning toward thinking it wasn't caused by the environment.

next up - wash hair, dress, drink 42 gallons of coffee to wake brain up before waking LO up to get ready for school

Dentist is my word for today. I'm not sure the new filling is 'on the level' that suits the rest of my teeth.

I still need book kennel for this w/e away.
Yes I am anxious about that. the w/e away for me. It sounds like a full house for women in double bunks, while the men can spread out to their hearts delight. I wish I'd thought of that before I booked. I'll take my car so I can escape if I need to. I am used to just sharing with one dog who sleeps in a different room, and snores at times.

If I'm stuck with alliteration, then Mandatory Monday. I've got stuff I must work on today.

Ds called back just after I posted last night and talked for 1:50. He had a wonderful time at the resort but hated the flight process home. He hasn't flown a charter airline before and the rip-offs that entails (plus the cramped seating) irritated him. Also dealing with people in an airport who were all 'on the take' also bugged him. Once he got that (long) rant out, then we heard about all the good things that happened during the week.

One of the things he spent time thinking about is jobs at resorts that he'd like to do when he gets to Australia. He was there for a wedding of a high school friend but really just as the +1 for not-the-girlfriend, since he wasn't close to the bride at all and, on his own, would never have been invited. That made him a 'free agent', not tied to any one side and he ended up doing lots of things with both sides of the bridal party (the two families do not get along at all.) Most of all, the father of the bride wanted to do things but didn't want to spend time organizing things, so ds took over his scheduled and booked all the activities and maintained a schedule for this guy, right down to shell-gathering with his niece (she expressed to ds that this guy was the best shell-finder and she wanted help gathering unique shells.)

This guy would hand ds a wad of cash and tell him to go off and book adventures. So they rented a catamaran, a speed boat, went snorkling and snuba (tethered scuba) among activities. Ds arranged golfing for this guy and his brother, saving him a couple of hundred dollars by finding a better alternative than that offered by the tour company. The bride's grandfather had mobility issues but ds and some of the other young men arranged to get him onto the small boat and from that onto the catamaran and then ds spent time with him on the catamaran while the others went snorkling, also assisting the bride's mother in the water since it was rough. The grandfather loved the sea and had worked on cruise ships so ds found spending time with him very interesting. Plus it earned him brownie points with the rest of the family who were free to enjoy the activity because grandpa was taken care of.

Ds is good with seniors and good with traveling so the ideal job for him would be to work as a personal concierge for some rich guy looking to get the most out of his trip to Australia. Kind of a specialized job market to break into, but there's got to be someone who can help us figure out who to contact. I'll start with my cruise travel agent.

Dh and I went straight to bed after the phone call, completely exhausted from hearing all the adventures. Slept fitfully and now it is time to start my week. I'm having my tea now while waiting for the exercise bike.

Monday -the start of a new week, a more 'relaxed' week for me. Well sorta. DD was happy with the fact that supposedly there was no contact for 30 days -which sounds like a really good plan right now. Not so -guess they can call on weekends & Mondays for the first 30 days anyway. It would be better if there truly was no contact for that 30 days. Tearing dd apart I'm afraid. GD ended up hanging up on dd last night. She hates it there everybody hates her, etc, etc. New kid on the block syndrome. "I want to come home! They won't let me do anything without permission. I can't have my nail polish." And on and on and on it goes. Keep telling dd to hang strong and to remember she has given gd her one chance to gain the opportunity for a good life.

Dsisil just called -I was supposed to go there to go to the women's outlet store and then t lunch today. Has a tire guy coming to put new tires on her niece's camper today. So may drive over for a bit later on in the day.

Got up a little after 7 and have slowly gotten myself around. Think I'll start out with 10 minutes in gd's room. Slowly getting it picked up -so far just the floor. This is the child who didn't "cut". That's why we've so far found 2 paper towels covered in blood spots? She never has covered her tracks.

Okay -off to work. Have a good day everyone. Slowly learning this Windows 8 -and why I'm finally logged in here is beyond me. But I like it!

LOL Harriet. What I really notice about Twins, is that she seems happy and relaxed. I am sure that will help her dh realize that is more important than the money she brings home. You know that saying, "If mama ain't happy, nobody is happy".

This morning dh woke me up to tell me he was leaving. He had packed his lunch and told me to go back to sleep. That was the wrong thing to do. Dd2 called at 8:32, otherwise I would probably still be sleeping. I have a 9:00 dr. appt tomorrow and will need to be there when they open at 8 for labs, so I will need to tell him so that we don't have a repeat of today.

Since I am 2+ hours behind, I need to get off of here and have breakfast and meds.
