What needs tending in your corner of the world today?

I have a women's meeting at church at 9:30 and then am going to dsisil's. We may or may not go to lunch. I'd just as soon wait.

Need to contact dh in a little while. Know he's ultra busy this week, getting ready to open the campground this weekend.

Had to submit this so I could disable the onboard mouse. Sure that's what I kept hitting to make the page move.

I've showered, made the bed, dressed to shoes, and managed to post. I'm doing good. Need to get a good routine going now that I'm not doing a school run every day. Mostly need to take a few pounds off before I go home. Not happy with this body at this point. DD made me a shake again this morning. So see if I can build on that (well) today.

Oh, Dee, I need to tend to (avert eyes, Harriet) my "to-do" li$t and set some priorities and get moving. Tomorrow and later this week I need to tend to temple biz - have a board meeting tomorrow night and annual meeting on Sunday. I always feel pretty scattered after tax season so I need to find some order. I am mulling over a basic weekly plan - trying to decide whether P&P's tried and true (Heavy cleaning. desk, errands, free, and light cleaning) will work and how my volunteer and family duties fit there.

Dcleaning lady will be here this morning - I need to do some spiffing up and I'll take ddogs out to walk when she gets here. Dh wants me to see if she could change to later in the week.

Helia: What have you done?! A puppy. So much work. I'm too lazy to have a pet. I just enjoy borrowing them. No vet bills that way.

I'm up. In workout clothes but didn't work out. May end up skipping it.

The minister's husband wrote back. She is too sick for computer. No diagnosis. More tests later this week.

I wrote my minister friend and asked for guidance since he asked me how we were covering off her duties. The pulpit is covered but that's only 1/4 of a minister's work. So I went over the rest of the duties I know about with him and said how they'd be covered. Then asked what I was missing. He had Bell's Palsy while with us so is the person who would best understand what it is like to be sick and our minister simultaneously since he lived through it.

I wrote the chair of the board updating her and will send out emails to all board members today. Worship Committee in particular will have to meet and decide what they are doing about May 5 since I can't see her being back to work by then.

It will cost me just $50 to cancel the preaching conference and I can do so at the last minute so I'm now debating offering to stay home so I'm available May 12 (and 19, Pentecost) as well.

Dee ~ A quick note about concerns for DGD having problems adjusting to the new place.

This sounds so familiar. Remember how difficult it was for her to adjust to going away to school? Remember those phone calls? Of course she does not like having to learn and follow new rules. Very few people like dealing with such a big change.

Hang in there, you and your DD know how important this chance is for DGD (as well as DD & DSIL) even if she doesn't believe it.

Morning y'all..

I have much to tend to today. Two weeks from today I will be flying to SC to be with my son. He is recieving his MBA. Then the two of us have some fun time play including "floating down" the area river in an inner tube. My son assures me that even thought the current moves a bit, it is nothing like a class 4 rapid. no life jacket required

I am hoping to pack in as many memories as I can during this visit. My son turns 32 on Thur and I feel like his birthday plus his graduation is a turning point in his life...especially after last summer. I have seen a tremendous change in him...all for the better. He is emotionally stronger, more confident and above all more mature. I "see" this time period as stepping from one phase in his life to another...one which he is now well prepared for. He has purpose and direction.

In the next two weeks I must put into motion my party plan...I usually have a Kentucky Derby party each year. I was going to keep this one simple, but somehow it grew from 8 - 30 people. Its okay with me...I have most things that are needed and just need to set up a schedule for doing this...including decorating my house, which others find most important. I laugh because for some of my friends this gathering seems to be one of the highlighs of their year. The gathering starts at 2:30 pm and usually there are still may people milling well after at mid-night. Sweetie usually grumbles at the thought of having that many people in his house, but experience has shown, he ends up loving the event.

In the meantime, I need to make appointments for two dr's, one for hair, toes, and possibly a clothing shopping trip. I hate to
shop I am also working several days during these next two weeks for my friends. I am going into work today as a matter of fact, and 3 of my friends called me yesterday to see if I was available for them today as well. I love working like this because it pays for my "goodies" One day of work will pay for everything I will need for this party. Three days of work paid for my trip to my son's...I have to work 2 more days to pay for my trip home in the summer. Its working out just the way I want it to. Not too little, not too much....Just Right

Hi ho, hi ho ...its off to work I go, she said with a song in her heart...no stress today. Don't have to deal with parents and/ro the principal and I get to do what I love....teaching. For me its a win/win situation...

Another night of getting less sleep than I need.. LO coughed all night long. OTC meds didn't seem to have any effect. I cat napped throughout the night between....
** 9:30pm LO fever spiked - gave him Tylenol. Set my alarm for every 30 minutes to check his fever status.
** 10:30pm LO rolled off the bed and hit the floor hard. Woke up crying. I cuddled him while he went back to sleep
** 11:30pm LO fever hasn't broke so gave him dose of Children Advil
** A little after Midnight his fever broke. I set alarm for every 2 hours to check him in case fever went up again, so I got up at 1:30, 3:30 and 5:30am for those checks
**YAWN*** My favorite drink is coffee.

LO wanted to go to school this morning. Other than coughing he seems okay now. I'm still going to get him in to see doctor today (waiting for the office to open so I can call). Something caused his fever to spike last night and I'd rather find out sooner than later the cause behind it.

The pit pumping crww is suppose to be at MPB today. That means heavy equipment making several trips in/out of our driveway.

SOME day, i'm going to stay home and have a normal day. I'm also going to work on tax prep. Some day.

Okay...I forgot to mention...about LO.

You need to report the situation to the principal. What happened to him the other day seems like a "game" that the older boys are playing. "Lets see who we can knowck over" The boys may have been previously warned about doing this. Although you may see it as a single event...the boys may have been doing this shove thing for a while. Any good principal worthe their salt will want to know about it. Especially if this is not a single incident. You DO have rights about where LO is placed. He has an IEP. That allows you to dircect his future. Use it. Also, its been my experience that grade assigments seem to change during the summers. The idea of talking with the principal about how much you love LO's teacher will serve two purposes...one to let the principal know how good she is and also to use LO's present teacher as an example of what your expections are.

I will say this for all good teachers....Administration always hears about the "bad" things we do from parents, but seldom the good. Kind words of appreciation will go a long way in the administration's eyes. And I imagine the principal is already aware of the behaviors for the other teachers....Here's a secret...teachers talk about each other, especially to the principal.

A phone call at 6:30 this morning from excited DD#2. She "got" her turkey!! This time there was no question about it being a hen or a young tom. He had a 9 inch beard. Guess that is like a 10 point buck. She was sooooo excited and happy.

I have to get moving and get ready to go up the hill and help set up for the church garage sale. I have completely emptied 2 shelves and 1/2 of another of books. When I get back I will re-arrange the other 3 shelves to just one row of books each. I only picked some of the more popular authors so they will sell well. I still haven't banded the series books together but will do that while I arrange them at the sale.

Good Dr. report but had to fight with new script service. They sent my diabetic meds to our mail forwarding service and I won't get them before vacation. But I was able to get a 30 day supply pleading vacation override. It is a good thing to know about the vacation override thing if you are running out of meds.

Next up is shower, breakfast and meds and then load the books in the pick-up and head up the hill by 8.
