Hope your trip is absolutely "stunning", Kathryn! Wish I were going to be home in the time frame you talked about.

I went to visit dfriends from home yesterday. By-passed my turn and ended up taking a 32-mile detour! It's actually a hair under 50 miles & I ended up with 82 up. Had a wonderful day/lunch. He checked my oil for me -hadn't had it checked since dh left here March 27th. Never leaks but after a 1,000 miles or so it needs some added???

Went to the grocery store and bought things for salads and cabbage soup when I got back. Have to jump start some weight loss somehow!!

Happy belated birthday to Sadie. Sorry I wasn't even here for the last couple of days.

We are mostly packed except for what we need out this morning. I was able to put everything in a carry on suitcase and a backpack. Since this is small, I decided to take the laptop in the briefcase as it is so handy for all my cords, etc.

This will be a pretty casual day, church this morning, back to empty anything that will spoil in 2 weeks out of fridge, and then the trip to airport motel. We will stop for gas and dinner on the way.

DS is supposed to call/email us with flight info this afternoon. Hoping it won't be the 5 am flight - the 9 or 11 is more my speed.

Now to jump in the shower and get ready for church.

Today will be a quiet relaxing day for us. I don't think we will see dfam#2 as ds will be in the city across the bay to help his dcousin with a project for her company. He was to help with the small job yesterday as well. I'm glad he was able to help her; the family cousins aren't often able to get together

MT, thanks for the comments last night about cooking diabetic. I usually plan a healthy not-too-heavy meal when they come here anyway. Both are light eaters. I'm doing the Lemon angel hair pasta with spinach and chicken, dh wants a side of steamed broccoli, and I'm going to make a challah for ds to enjoy. She has been diabetic just about all her life and has an insulin pump.

We have a break in the rain this morning and have walked the ddogs and I'm lollygagging about.

-meds, vitamins etc for me
-refill meds, vitamins for week
-reboot laundry
-make a DPC
-clear and wipe kitchen counters

Guess what flight we are on!!! Yep, 5:45 AM That means getting up around 3 and catching the shuttle for the airport at 4 to check in.

I finished up that round and am heading to grocery store now...

Home from grocery, unpacked and put away stuff. Started challah in breadmaker so I have about an hour and twenty minutes for a tiny nap today.

Sorry to be MIA. I've been dealing with month-end financial reports for the library group and sewing group. Otherwise just normal chores.

Had a meeting with the library group Thursday night that was very long but quite productive. We're getting ready for the annual book sale fund raiser at the end of this month.

Sewing group meeting will be Tuesday night. Before then, I need to finish the financial reports and get all of those files from the past 6 months ready to return to the official Treasurer, who will finally be back from her winter home. (I expected her back in March.) Somehow, although I have no problem meeting the deadlines and keeping all of the documentation in my sewing group box, the papers never actually get filed properly in the notebooks. That will be my major goal tomorrow -- tame that paper tiger!

Still plugging away at the rest of the mess around here. We have been cold enough to still be wearing winter coats, but lucky enough that the snow missed us, although there have been a couple of rounds of thunderstorms and freezing rain. I'm really looking forward to this week, they say the temps will get up into the 70s.

Must catch up on posts from the past several days, but DH just got up and I think he wants to go to the truck stop for lunch. BBL.

MT, since you will be flying stand by (I think you said that), with the early flight you are less likely to be bumped. Have a great time seeing the kids and grandkids.

Dh has the first coat of burgundy-ish paint on the bathroom walls.
