I first found P&P Slob Sister website in 1997. I was instantly fascinated with the 3x5 card system and P&P upbeat way of dealing with chaos. I have never had the honor of meeting Pam IRL, but have emailed several times with her. Pam has made a very positive influence on my life.
Happy Birthday Pam!!

Oh, thanks for letting us know, OKay! Pam is such an imaginative person, so optimistic (well, she's a SLOB after all), and I'm grateful to her for the inclusiveness she and Peggy bring to all their writing and video work. Always the theme of recognizing that we aren't alone if we are sidetrackable, but instead we have shared experiences, something in common. They are conspirators, really. The good kind. Yes, I was also immediately taken with the tactile friendliness of the 3x5. Genius.
Dd14's alarm failed her this a.m. so she had a frustrated morning, but managed to make the school bell since mine did wake me and I realized she wasn't stirring.
HRH has a short day today. He just did some outside chores for me on his way. We were transfixed this morning for a while to the news reports on CNN.
I'm quite disappointed that Kathryn doesn't feel she can make an impact on weather as she travels, lol. Keep trying, Kathryn!
lucylee's family is on my mind.

I'm doing my best, Harriet! The sun was shining here this morning, not forecast, and I see that your town is now expecting cloudy with sunny breaks tomorrow, instead of the rain that was forecast for it on Monday. I might succeed yet!
I'm posting, therefore I'm not on the road yet.
Another short night. We are just too wired after driving to go to bed and both of us are scrambling to handle email issues that have piled up during the day. I spent a while writing a presentation for the board meeting tonight (or tomorrow night, I'm not sure since it is called for Wednesday, May 9.) And my minister friend wrote me again so I wrote him back. He's like taming a feral cat - patience and gestures to earn trust and now we almost have a 'normal' relationship. He's been great these past three weeks, listening to my rants and making calm, supportive, murmuring comments back.
Despite not a long sleep, we are getting good quality sleep. There are train tracks near the hotel and we slept with the window open. Neither bothered us at all and dh woke naturally at 6:55.
We've eaten so I'm hoping to get out of here in 8 minutes.
Harriet, I've sent a PM to you.

Hummm, I tend to think of them as a P&P whole, not separately, but a lot of phrases and ideas from their books stick with me. I still think in terms of their BWP. Maybe a review of their books would be in order?
Busy busy here today. Need to do a lot of getting ready for beach trip today. Tomorrow have another dr appointment with dmom that will take part of the day, and we are leaving on Friday a.m. Dd will also be home at some point today with her car loaded with stuff.

(This is not a good thing - it never occurs to her to let things go....)
Forgive me if I think aloud for awhile...things to do today:
-Target for return + sunscreen + fish oil for ddogs + what else?
-Petsmart for dog food for Moses
-Vet for dog food for Macs
-several things on list for yesterday that I didn't get to
-continue w routines
-make arrangements for someone to take care of ddogs from mid day on Friday until Sat evening - our dog sitter will be here Sat night to take over.
-Pedicure?
This round:
-start eggs boiling
-s2s
-walk ddogs
-get recycling outside
-meds/vitamins for me
Harriet, what was on CNN that was transfixing?
Kathryn, yes, your congregation is getting a hard less on in what has to be done to put together a worship service.

Twins' Mom, yesterday I had evidently missed most of the story of the 3 discovered women in Ohio, except for noting a vague passing headline. As I walked out into the LR this a.m., HRH pointed at the coverage and asked if I'd been following it. I didn't know. And the particular coverage at that moment brought up about as many questions as it answered. It was difficult to understand who was a family member to whom, who was a neighbor, a friend. This will be a very complicated story, far from unraveled yet, of course.

Ah, thanks, Harriet. I had thought that perhaps there was some big breaking news this morning I should have figured that out...
When I went to s2s I realized that all our Master Bath room towels were in the washer. They have been smelling funky so I threw them in this morning with a little vinegar for a rinse. So they are not finished in the dryer and I need to track back to s2s. I pulled out the beach bag also and inventoried sunscreen - we need more of the lower SPF formulas. I tend to overbuy on the stuff for me.
I am going to use the Pomodoro method - 25 minutes work then 5 minute break - I'll try for a couple of times around to finish a.m. routine and do some stuff here. My focus isn't very strong today and words w temple secretary this a.m. didn't help.
-reboot laundry
-make the bed
-s2s
-straighten MBR
-clear kitchen table

I'm eating lunch now but never got the a.m. routine done. Still, this a.m. I have:
x gone for a jog with dh; I'm feeling stronger when I jog, so I can tell progress is being made. I cut it a bit short at 29 minutes; next week, I'll try to push myself.
x done some of a.m. routine; at least s2s-ed and made myself presentable
x gone to the dentist - check up. No cavities - all is fine. I have a small chip out of a molar, so they are watching that tooth.
x done a little work on teaching; went over flow and questions with dh
x started a load of darks, just dd17's clothes. After not seeing her clothes in the laundry for weeks, she dumped (what seems like) most of her wardrobe into her laundry basket, causing a bottleneck in the laundry this week.
I'm just glad to see her clothes in the laundry. . . Maybe TMI.
SO glad your dmom is going after all, blessed!!
I've read a little about the girls in Ohio.
Girls have a half day today; I'm not sure why. I'll need to pick up dd14 at 12:45. Dd17 is staying late with the art club, working on a mural somewhere in the school. Dd14 has a friend coming over this afternoon. We are eating early today so we can eat before dd14 heads to synchro practice at 6. R is joining us, so I need to email him the new earlier time.
After I eat lunch, I'm going to finish the a.m. routine and work on my teaching.

Quick break, accidently turned off timer so 5 minute break is a little off I think.
Resetting and going again.
