Good morning everyone!
I have until I go to bed tonight to put the final push on my sorting and shining.
Join me as I shred, file, unpile and polish!
The dust will be saying good bye and the laundry twins will be playing together on the journey towards Tuesday.
Off to get the first twin working.
All this and no caffiene!

Busy weekend here too. I already posted about Saturday's doings. Yesterday, dd14, myself, and dd14's friend/teammate left around 6:10 a.m. for the synchro regionals. We got home around 4 pm. Dd14 and team did well, but the meet was eye-opening. While the local club is new and small and low-key, practicing about 2x/week, the other clubs are massive - and one mom I chatted with told me her daughter has been doing this for 5 years and practices 6x/week.
And their team goes to nationals every year. Our little local team doesn't even compete in the "real" categories that send girls to nationals. I must say, it was fun to see the more serious girls. They can do amazing things at very young ages! dd14 enjoyed seeing them too but is convinced that she doesn't want to devote all her free time to synchro. I had to leave the pool for about an hour to go walk around the campus; it was just too noisy and too closed in for me to sit there for 6.5 hours straight, which is what many of the other parents did.
Heavy news here too. A neighbor died in a car accident Saturday morning. They think he lost consciousness while driving on the interstate, drifted across 3 lanes of traffic and then hit a bridge abutment when his car caught on fire. We don't know his family too well, but they live around the corner from us and their youngest dd went to school w/ our ds19 elementary years onward. He was 51 yo, an avid runner, and a physician at the U. I would chat w/ his wife when I occasionally ran into her at the groc. store. Their family is certainly OMM.
Dd14 actually saw the smoke from the accident as she was out driving w/ her driving instructor (and friend) at the time. She said they came to a bridge over the interstate when suddenly a lot of black smoke started billowing up. The instructor said, "Let's go a different way."
Dh told me about the accident when I called him yesterday after the meet. Dfriend R heard about it earlier b/c he is a physician at the U and had told dh . . . .I think he knew the guy is our neighbor (R's neighbor too).
((OK))
Hope Sadie is OK.
You go, CathyS!
My day today:
- a.m. routine
- make sure I have everything I need for band uniform (concert) returns
- band room for returns from 11:50 ~ 2:30
- prep for Hebrew
- Heb. class at 5:05
- leave Heb. early to pick up dd14 and friend from drivers ed at 6:00
- home; then dd14 to and from drumline, 7 - 9
- laundry catch up; I seem to be perpetually behind. This task gets put off when I'm so busy.
- pick up
So far, I've been dealing with a hyper puppy. She is out for the 3rd time in 40 minutes. She doesn't want to come in - but she doesn't want ME to come in either. I just did and left her yapping outside. . . .

I'm up and started but that's it. Had to eat breakfast to raise my bs and am letting that settle in before I even s2s. Woke up at 3:45 & didn't get back to sleep till about 6, just about the time dh got up.
Have some running around to do later this morning. The dealership (where our car is in Haggerstown, MD) is supposed to call in a little while to let me know how many $$$ it will cost to fix it. Oh, here's dh. I'll be back

Good morning, villagers ~
Stormy night and we lost power for 2+1/2 hours. I had seen news footage of tornado damage in Oklahoma before going to bed, though, so I told DH that I didn't feel like we could complain.
We went to see Iron Man 3 yesterday afternoon. I enjoyed it. I need to look up the actors who played 2 of the villains because I kept wondering where I'd seen them before. I bet Ben Kingsley had fun with his part.
This morning's task is to do as much computer work as I can because we're supposed to get more storms this afternoon.
I need to run errands sometime today.

The laundry twins are playing happily together. Considering they only get to play together every 2 weeks, the happier they are, the better.
The ironing board is doing it's share of work today, too. I have all the books that I have acquired in the past couple of months piled up nicely on the top, awaiting attention.
Dishes want to get in on the action as well, so they get to have a nice hot bath later.
I have consumed breakfast and now I have a cola waiting on the very empty desk top.
Re-hung all of Mike's clothes that have been hanging on the shower rod for most of the week with the window open beside them. The closet looks beautiful with everything in colour order on both sides.
Man, I am so over-doing it this week. That's okay, because most of the time I don't do much other than work. 3 days off is so nice.
Happy Victoria Day!

Just getting up. Dh fell back asleep after the light came on and woke up 2 hours later. So I got 9 hours of sleep (except being woken during a heavy rain storm at 2:30.)
Finally got the nerve to weigh myself. I'm 2 lbs heavier than I've been all year. I may have walked 13K steps a day in Nashville and done 20 or more flights of stairs but it didn't help counter-act the food.
Am sipping decaf tea but don't have my chocolate out today.

A blessed Victoria Day to all our she friends to the north.
I'm s2s finally. Still feeling a bit 'jittery'. I don't like this feeling. Wondering if there's a bit of nerves added in to a low blood sugar reading. Have LOTS of work to do in here to get it spiffed up for the summer. And I've been too tired to get very much done at once. We need to do quite a bit of running once dd gets around today -if she even wants to go with us. It will be perfectly fine if she'd rather stay at the campground and enjoy it.
Car dealership hasn't called yet, but I expect they will soon. If they get it fixed today, that means we'll have to 'fetch' it tomorrow and dd needs to be at the airport at 1. Phone rang as I was writing that -$979 and we'll be out the door. Won't be ready until late tomorrow. So dh and I are thinking of driving down tomorrow afternoon, getting a hotel and driving back on Wednesday. Rather than trying to drive about 13 hours on Wed. Sounds like a plan.
Funny you say that, Kathryn. One GD commented Sat. night on the weight I've lost and I just laughed and said I got my hair cut. But then I weighed myself and realize I'm 10# lighter than when I left last fall. I'm pleased with that. So any I lose now and between the time I visit my Dr. next month will be 'gravy'. Think nerves alone might do that.
Think first thing I'll do is drive up to the store (in golf cart) and get number for dmanager's brother. He's the regional manager for E nter prise (from whom we rented this car). Think we were being fed a line on some things. So want to see what this dfriend can do from his end -if anything.
BBL
Thanks, dfriends, for all the good wishes for dh. He likes to act like "it's a piece of cake" but I know a little bit better. But part of us is relieved that this is finally going to be done.

Dee~Cat. Converters can be one of the more expensive parts on a vehicle. More than $600 on a regular car. (that was a few years ago). How do you like the C aravan? I drive a Grand C aravan every day at work. It makes driving in Mike's A ccent a tiny bit scarier sometimes.
The shredder has decided to sleep in until the laundry twins quiet down.
Most of the garbage and recycling has been dealt with.

((Dee)) I finally saw the upcoming surgery for dh.
So much going on here!
I'd be happy with just a 2 lb. gain over so many weeks away and eating out, Kathryn!! I think you did well.
Moving slowly here; helped dh attempt to de-sap the puppy. It is a hopeless business, so he finally gave up. She has spots of sap all over her belly and hind side from the pine trees dripping onto our patio. When she plays in the dirt, which she loves to do, the dirt so handily sticks to the sap spots. She is doing a pretty good Dalmation puppy imitation these days. . . We're using eucalyptus oil we brought back from Australia to get the sap off.
Got the kitchen reclaimed and laundry is going. Made a li&t for the week. Have s2s-ed.
need to check on band supplies, specifically highlighter pen and safety pins to mark spots that need repairs.
Can't do anything else until I'm relieved of puppy care. . . . .
