SUNDAY SUMMARY

So, how would you 'sum' up your week? Mine has been "the good, the bad, and the ugly", I think. It was good to be back home, the car breaking down mid-trip was bad and the ugly is probably learning dh is going in the hospital this coming week. But it will all be good in the end.
Sun is shining today and it was up to 59 when we finally got up. Much better than the 40 of yesterday. It was breezy all day so stayed quite cold.
DH 'won' a cake in a dessert auction last night. Just had one piece & we're wrapping the rest and leaving it with DS-A's family. Have to stop there after church so dh can de-winterize DS's MH. They were going to camp here this weekend but I think it just ended up too cool & rainy. Going to be nice now through Wed. Rainy that day and then into the 80's once dh goes in the hospital.
I have the bed made, ate breakfast and took meds. That's as far as I've gotten. Guess I better start moving. There was a house fire about 3am & dh's tones went off (not that he's going these days). I had to get up to take some t ylenol and saw our fire chief & one from the neighboring town leaving to go to the fire. Sure ds-A was almost there by the time they left here. Sounded pretty big as surrounding towns were immediately called in -either to the fire or to fill in.
Ok, now I'm off>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I couldn't find my glucometer all the way home or for a few days after we reached here, either, MT. Finally when I got around to totally emptying my toiletry bag lo' & behold. The lining is black, my black wrist brace was on the bottom & fallen below that was my black glucometer case. I was dreading spending the $$ on a new one and replacing a practically new case of strips too. So I know where you are.

Hello Dear Ladies,
Sunshine here.
Work is busy with people trying on swimsuits.
The kitchen is messy from the guys having some sort of gathering last night. Believe they watched a UFC fight and had oldest son come over to watch it too. Leaving the mess for them to clean.
Dson25 is still in NC. One of the things he wanted to do was to set up a friend's internet for them. So far provider hasn't showed up so he's been without internet for a week. He must be going crazy.
DCousin Norma sent me a nice letter with a card from Aunt Betty's graveside service. Had her picture on one side and beautiful poem on the other about being re-united with Uncle Art. I'm sure Joan, her caretaking neice wrote it. Norma wants to continue our communications with each other so I am happy to hear that. Need to get a letter out to her this week.
Got to shower and run.
Great day to all!

Weird day here so far. I slept late, until almost 9 a.m. and then was reading the paper when I realized that I was supposed to go to a cemetery "unveiling" that was on my calendar for 1 p.m. but that I was reading (somehow) as 11 a.m.

Anyway, dressed simply and got there, when no one else was there I checked the temple calendar online and found it listed at 1 p.m. So I am heading back there in a few minutes. Dh was supposed to play golf but his partner cancelled so he's at loose ends. He's gone to Home Depot then may go to the pool for a while. Dkids are just now getting up and about.
I will do my grocery trip after the unveiling; dinner at dfriends' house tonight and need to make an appetizer.

Dh called this am. He is not meeting up with the idiots. They are still sitting in OKC. They heard that it was too muddy where the rally is being held. He was going to head north and see his dsis before heading home. He will have to stay somewhere tonight because it is 400 miles from her house. He doesn't want to be riding at night. Last night was enough for him. So he had me call her and make sure she was at home. She is really excited that he is coming by. We need to get down there this summer.

Jackpot for me at yd. sales yesterday I scored a big garbage of yarn and a kiddie pressure gate that I need! Yippie plus found [new] church shoes flats I've been looking for while h. was getting slippers and trying on work boots.
For a summary of my week you can look at my blog.

That made me smile. I'm sure he's better off without them even if it means he's riding by himself.
Church went really well. I'm going to run upstairs now and change into warmer clothes, though. It is really cold in the house so I have the gas fireplace on. The sun is trying to break through.
My afternoon involves light lunch, reading in prep for next week's service, napping and then fish fry at the second church. Taking my senior friend. Quiet evening, I hope.
Ds got home from work at 11:20 and was really sore and told by the nurses at work that he had to take a hot bath and scrub the pebbles out of his knees before going to bed. So he ran a bath. The bathtub is against my bedroom wall. Didn't hear a thing!
He was up at 6:10 and still really sore and off to do it all over again. The nurses sent him home with lots of mega bandages and some waterproof ones to use while he's actually racing. It was the crawling on his belly under the barb wire that did him in (and he didn't completely succeed, his back is all scratched up too.)

I don't know, there are those who would argue that staying away from all drs for 45 years might be a healthy alternative!
Lilac, I appreciated that you posted again last night. I was kinda waiting up (although waiting on other things as well) to make sure you were relieved.
Emptynester, you can still watch recorded things, though, is that right?
Dd is still in confusion about when she might be able to go with her friend on a swimming outing. So far this weekend 3 times we understood the mother was coming to get her, yet nothing happened. So a lot has been put off and time has been wasted. Slightly on my nerves. There were projects she could have accomplished, people we could have visited instead. A 3-day weekend for her, spent thinking she shouldn't get started on anything.
