Good Morning Dear Ladies,

Can't believe I'm opening and sorry I don't have a catchy title for the thread or a great opening but wanted to stop by and wish everyone a great day.

Harriet must still be celebrating with family.

It's a work day for me so off I go.

I've been up for almost 3 hours and I'm just playing on the computer. F book, C ruise C ritic, W W, here, looking up books on our local library site...

Thinking about doing some laundry, but I don't want to disturb Mike. He's sleeping like a little angel.

Spoke to my best friend for more than 2 hours last night. She had just woken up from a dream about Mike throwing her into a pool.

I woke up at around 6 a.m. to the sound of a downpour. Closed my eyes and then woke up 3 hours later to the sound of birds chirping. Much better than lawn mowers or garbage trucks.

Think today's title is a wonderful thought, Sadie! With so many experiencing bad weather we can all hope for super sunny days. Know even here it's super soggy. We were quite worried last night about the Boy Scouts. Dh went up after the worst of the storm had passed to see how they had fared. All were ok -guess they did take shelter in the bathroom. And they were offered our big rec hall. They only had tents and what went through here before the rain hit scared us all. Couldn't see out and the dirt & everything just twirled all the way up through. We've had an inch of rain since late yesterday. Another inch about a day & a half before that, and more before that.

Dh and I are taking a rest before hitting the outside again. I've been condensing and getting rid of things on the deck. Dh had a big bin w/odds & ends stored there. Put some things in our deck box and he has a few things to put in the shed -then he can take the r ubber maid bin to the can shed if he wants.

So glad to see your dh was getting home last night, Kathryn! Know you have to be more relaxed to have him back home.

We didn't go to church this morning (obviously) -at least we by-passed all the questions & looks this morning. Dpastor will update on what's happening and no one will question us not being there. Dh is feeling a little better today & trying to get some last minute things done. We had a Rose of Sharon bush next to our shed & it was getting too big. He easily dug it up and replanted it on our berm. All the perennials we put in last year are really beginning to look pretty good up there. Loved the wave petunias -but very work intensive and expensive each year.

It was a good fund raiser, Harriet. Know it was most likely very therapeutic for our Dson-A & DDIL. Of course dgs10months is delightfully therapeutic for all of them. Know our DSGD13 & our DGS13 both love him to pieces. They're all so good with him. DDIL#1 (DS-R) said there were a lot of people there to walk for Team Zoe. Sure that was also very good for DDIL#2!

Think I'll head back outside. Temp is really nice for it today.

What a quiet day in the village!

I have a headache going today and am heading for a short nap (just ate lunch and took ibuprofen.) DD and I are supposed to be at a 4:45 synagogue women's event later. In between the nap and the event, I need to s2s and go to grocery.

Dh and I got home around 11 last night - good time with friends at their lake house but this was the second night out in a row. With another social occasion tonight, I'll need tomorrow for some quiet time.

Thankfully, I have a pretty quiet week coming up.

We had rain overnight and while we were at the lake last night. Overcast today with 80% chance of rain also.

Quiet day here as well and that's ok with me. Swam Willis yesterday and then myself. The heat is on and today it should top108*. Still a bit brain dead, but better... Fingers still crossed.

Interesting story.... The other day a neighbor woke to thousands of roaches crawling all over his back wall. Even his grass was covered with them. Bugman came and sprayed the area. This made the roaches hiden in the wall come out as well. Then all the roaches on the wall ran and joined the rest in the grass. My friend said it looked like the grass was moving. Within minutes out of nowhere birds from all over filled his yard and began eating the roaches. He said it was like a screen from a horror movie. Within 20 minutes the birds had eaten all the roaches and they flew away.

I hope those birds are okay. What was sprayed on the roaches? Oh, and EWWWWWWWW!

Long day. Still have to grocery shop. Really have to grocery shop, there are two carrots, one yam and some very soft potatoes and onions in the fresh vegetable category and 2 apples in the fruit category. No milk left.

I'm exhausted so am debating encouraging dh to eat out. He's only done so for 12 days, a 13th won't kill him. Or I could get him to cook while I nap but I worry a nap so close to dinner will mess me up this evening.

Church went well but insanely low attendance at my church (5 kids, 10 adults, counting all souls in the building.) Good attendance at the other church. Preaching back to back is physically exhausting (basically, I'm on my feet for 2 hours solid.)

Had 40 minutes at home and headed back for the piano recital. I set up all the food and attended the second half (the food is consumed during intermission.) Then stayed for the cleanup. It is very hot and I'm wearing non-breathing clothes so I'm exhausted.

Rest, dKathryn, rest! Don't need you being down now that dh is home.

I had planned to make a trip into S am's this afternoon. I started taking calcium last fall but ever since had had a "digestive problem". This spring I discovered Calcium +D "petites" and started taking them instead. Much easier for me to get down and wallah! no digestive 'difficulties'. When I went to refill med containers last night, I discovered I don't have more. Thought I got them at S am's, but dd just told me she thought I found them at W a lgreens. So went online and they had a sale buy 1/get 1 half off. Free shipping over $25 so I just simply ordered 4 bottles -for the cost of 3, and I don't have to use gas to go get them. Granted I'll be without for a couple of days, but that's not bad since it's not one of my prescriptions. I have a huge bottle of calcium D sitting in FL. Wish I could find someone who takes that daily.

Very windy out but at least now it's sunny. Rained off and on a little bit.

Dfriend just delivered 2 chicken bar-b-q's so guess we'll eat as soon as dh gets back here. Sure he's ready to rest himself.

Decided earlier to wash my sheets and do the rest of the wash. Now they're all here and the bed is waiting to be made. Wonder if the maid will suddenly appear. Nah..........

(((Helia & dkitty)))) Many, many years ago we had a German shorthair who absolutely loved a guy over on a cross street real near us (back in the days we were still 'country'). He didn't come back one night & someone finally called dh days later because they had found him shot. It does shake you, no doubt about it. So know how you're feeling.
