TOGETHER THURSDAY

Post by DeeClutter »

I was actually up about 2:15 and was thinking of you all and this title. Dawned on me when I was up that today is the anniversary of when dShelley passed away. Got me to thinking about how this little village in the corner of the web, started out as a help in the areas of homemaking. It has become so much more than that over the years. We have stood together through deaths, births, graduations, awards, braggings, anger, joy, marriages, divorce, courts, waiting rooms -all the bad and the good. Sure you can picture even more life events that we have shared and stood together -cheering, praying, mourning, rejoicing. We have shared so much TOGETHER! I, for one, am so thankful that you all have been here for me, for each other. Our village has become a very large part of my every day life. Thank you that our village is a wonderful neighborhood of friends -very good friends!

I'm up and just barely working toward getting ready to go to the hospital. Expect dh might be up some today. He just took that one little walk yesterday. He was able to snooze quite a bit and I came home late afternoon. Just opened a can of beef noodle soup for dinner and added some of my cheese crackers. That was enough.

Have to check the underbelly of dd's MH before dh comes home. Says she has a gravity chair there that dh can use on the deck for as long as he wants it. DS-R texted yesterday that he wasn't going in to see dh -he had what he thought was allergies, but has gone into a severe cold with big time congestion. Better for him to stay away and I'm glad he sees the wisdom in that.

Raining out here today. Have to look and see if Harmony & Sunny are still getting the tropical storm. Well, of course dd will too. She has school today and then picks up gd tomorrow. She'll come home for a week. GD has to go to the director's office when she gets back to the Ranch and remove the app she put on her ipod that turns it into a phone. She admitted to calling dd but wouldn't admit to calling her friends. But we know beyond any doubt she was. She is so sneaky -even there. Amazes me that they seem so surprised by some of her actions. Isn't that why all these girls are there? They usually have 3-4 weeks of 'honeymoon period', and she gave them all of 1/2 day!! DD told them that the things they described are the things they dealt with day after day. Their reaction: "You're kidding!" I just shake my head.

Ok, I'm off to get dressed.

Thank you for all your well wishes for dh. I'm expecting improvement each day. He has one heck of a good attitude and that's half the battle. He never really complains -expects the pain and everything that goes with this recovery and just rolls with it. Have to love that guy!

(((Dee))) I'm always amazed at the power of the subconscious to keep track of all dates, even the ones that are sad. I don't react to the date my sister died but I still get antsy on her birthday.

I'm up and at it. Today is church office day and then, hopefully, take my senior friend to lunch.

Wow! That is one long road trip, Kathryn! Wish I was enroute. I read one road as "Winterstate" and thought that was an interesting name -till I realized it really said, "W/interstate". When are you taking this trip -I've missed it?

Just finally called my db & dsil. Have had so many calls and emails to do.

The hummingbirds are pretty active out here this morning. Dh is really going to enjoy that.

Think I'll finish dressing and get on the road. I'm wearing a purple top in memory of DShelley today. I'll never forget dMystery showing up at her Memorial Service with a purple dress -not knowing it was Shelley's favorite color. I'll always remember her in that dress!

Want to stop on the way to get something for dh to put in our growing garden on our berm in her memory. Need to quickly send a text off to dgd18 and remind her how much we love her and how thankful we are for the gift of grandchildren from her dmom. She knows, but it never hurts to be reminded.

Dee, just yesterday I was thinking of your dShelley and remembering that it was in early June, 4 years ago that you lost her. Tuesday I was restless and antsy. I was telling dh that and in the next breath I was telling him about waiting to hear about Dee's dh. He told me that I am always restless and antsy while waiting for word on a loved one, be it family or friend. I think he is finally getting the connection that I feel to my dear friends in this village.

Kathryn, I wish I lived anywhere near your route so that we could meet.

Dd1 and I have walked. When she called at 6:45, I just groaned at the thought. We hadn't walked too far when I realized that my left leg felt like it belonged to someone else. With every step with the left foot, it clomped. About half way thru it let up for awhile. Then it started again. I am praying that it was just a fluke. I need to mow but will have to wait until close to noon for it to dry out. We had some rain Tuesday night and some more yesterday. Maybe 1/2 inch or so, but we will take it.

Dgs7 has a ballgame at 6:30. I have a meal for the crockpot, which is always helpful on a game night.

Guess I will try to get some laundry going.

Just talked to dsisil. I don't think I posted that her dh was having stents put in yesterday. He had 4 stents put in 1 artery and 1 stent in another artery. Dsisil was surprised that the dr. didn't just do a bypass once he found he needed the 4 stents in 1 artery. She talked to her dh this morning and he told her he feels so much better already. He will be released later today.

Still need to start that laundry.

Hello Dear Ladies,

Possible rain in the forecast here, seems to be like that everyday.

(((Dee))hoping you and Mr. Dee have a wonderful day together.

Felt a bit down yesterday too, it was Daunt's birthday. She would have been 94 and I missed not sending her a card and then calling her on her birthday. She and my dmom were 1 year apart in age and would always have fun at the time of daunt's birthday as they were the same age for a few weeks.

Spent the morning going over bills, paying some and making out the grocery list. My back is better today but I'm not going to push it. I got a streak of laziness that agrees with that too.

Going to make some lunch, then shower for work.

Great day to all!

Love today's theme! I feel very honored to be a small part of this village. This group is very dear to me.....and a life saver to my sanity. Honestly, I don't know how I would get through some of the days without you. (((Group Hug))))

This morning has been 1/2 way productive.
** AM cards done (LO's and mine)
** Picked up 10 lbs of chili meat from butcher. Will brown it then let it cook in crock pot tomorrow.
** Washed DMom's van and refilled her water jugs.
** took DMom to tag agency. DMom wanted to add my name on her van title.
** Vacuumed for DMom while LO and her had a picnic
** Prepared crockpot full of baked beans to take to DMIL for DH family gathering today.

I'm at home again. Really wanted to get back across the city on the expressways before rush hour. Dh was snoozing quite a bit and he really wanted me to get back this way. Lot of ponding on the roads and not nice driving in 'lesser' traffic -can't even imagine rush hour.

I am going back out shortly -have to make a grocery run if I want to eat, bathe or deodorize! Both of the latter are probably pretty important.

DS-R will not be going in to see him -he is now extremely congested and left work (which he never does). DDIL#1 did ask about dgs8 going in to see his Grandpa -perfectly ok and dh will be really glad to see him. Dh is very tired & weak yet, but doing really well for 2 days out. Lungs are clear. His pulse is twice normal but that will come down. Took out the wires for external pacemaker & a neck probe. Still has the chest drainage in. He has gained a lot of water weight -about 16-17#- but that should go down once he's exercising more. So glad to hear about all our recovering and mending villagers.

That is a lot of stents at once, Lilac. Dh has 10, but it's been numerous times. Fortunately they were all clear and open so no by-pass surgery this time around. His arteries collapse because of all the radiation he had for cancer many years ago. Probably the aortic valve that was replaced was affected also.

Going to venture back out in the rain. Miserable out there. At least we don't have the tornado risk that I know dd and most likely Harmony & Sunny are under. Stay safe down there!

Today I'm glad that they are done with the road work across the st. and it's quieted down again here now yea for that.

I've rebooted the dishwasher, lunch is done and got the yarn I ripped out wound in to balls and re-knit two rows.

Let the chickens out and fed them some scraps. It's 80* out side here now so had to turn on the a/c to keep it tolerable for later on when h. gets off work.

I'm thawing out some chicken breasts for dinner tonight.

Yesterday I was thinking about this board and some of what we have been through together.
