Sunday Clarity

So often Sunday is our calm and thoughtful day for looking ahead at the coming week, and also doing a kind of "debriefing" of the past week.

Wishing everyone a day of clarity, to see clearly what has been accomplished and what needs to be accomplished.
Let's be sure to notice how much we did get done before we start criticizing ourselves for things we missed doing.
Let's put into our plans to appreciate what others do, and to be clear and early when we need to ask for something more.

Good Morning!

Clarity! I definitely could use a good dose of that. My mind is whirling.

Last week was busy but next week is smashed full of appointments and doings. My paper calendar is a mess with appts written in every spot....then when i ran out of room to write in more, I wrote them in the border and drew arrows to the day/time. I am going to have to double-time it all week long.

Basics become very important during busy phases like this. I can't keep up with my cards so I fall back to focusing on the D's.

Okay, you're always OMM! Hoping summer to calm down for you and the week ahead be a distant memory with only good results for you and LO.

I'm pooped and it's only 9:30! We got up around 6. Took dh down for his shower, etc around 7. Finally got his meds sorted out and put up for a week. He only has the Lasix & Potassium for 7 days so I'll start fresh from there. Some of his other meds have been eliminated, changed or new ones added. One was for a strength the pharmacist says doesn't exist so to cut the one they gave me in half -to take one in morning & 1 at night. They are near impossible to cut in half for some reason. Will ask the dr about that one on Friday. The visiting nurse will be here 12:30 -1:30 today. We worked at it, but I finally got his surgical stockings on. Needed a rest after that one. He took the bandaging off from where the chest drainage was. I'll let the nurse look at that one. His bandage on his chest where they broke the sternum/rib cage doesn't come off until the 13th.

I've s2s, made the bed and did dishes. Nurse wanted his insurance card, discharge instructions and a list of meds. I already had that typed out with the new ones and questions.

Finally not raining this morning. Sunny, blue skies. Know dcampowner was wishing for this yesterday. Someone won over $500 in the 50/50 drawing they had last night.

Think I'll sit and read for a little while. Need to get a friend's ds to go to dd's MH with me this morning to help find the gravity chair so dh can sit out on the deck.

Think I can use some of that clarity this morning, Harriet.

Dee thanks for getting us started off this morning. What a great topic for today.

I slept in felt good to sleep in until seven. Still fighting off the sinus ear thing so must have needed the rest. I did wake up with some clarity and inisight for where to put the fence up we are tweaking it a bit.

Well I did not make it to the library opening and open air market I decided that I did not want to deal with the crowds & heat.

I got the "I might use some day" window wood cut outs de-cluttered and donated so that felt really great! It's been a year and two projects did not need them so poof they are bye - bye.

We did get to the "habit for humanity" store found a sink was half the price of new used with faucets for the out door patio B.B.Q. area we are considering putting in. They have faucets etc. there too. We do have the cooking surface area aka "counter" but can't find the blocks, bricks or what ever that are square we want to use.

We did get half of the fencing replaced on the chicken yard and we need to do the other half of it today.

But don't want to start pounding in stakes until eight or after out of consideration for the neighbors on a Sun. morning.

I mowed the neighbors front yard so it looks better.
H. grilled boneless ribs for our dinner yummy!
Rented the latest Bruce Willis DVD and watch that yesterday.

Dearest ladies,

Just a quick note to share with you that Kathryn was sent to Emergency today for the third day in a row (this time by ambulance at 03:30) and has been admitted for four or five days for recovery, surgery and recovery. She has to have some acute symptoms addressed first before the surgery to prevent future recurrence.

She has had a very rough 72 hours but now with a better understanding of her own situation and pain management well underway, she is quite like her usual self. I'm home for a few hours to get organized before returning to the hospital ... she should be back online from her hospital room later this afternoon.

I will keep my eye on PWYC, but I don't think there is much more news to share at this point as the (very nice!) doctors seem to have a good idea of what is going on. They seem confident and that has translated into comfort for us.

If need be, I'll post more. You must already know how much of a comfort all of you are for her.

. . . . . . . . . Ken

p.s. our 30-day vacation to the Arctic Circle and Iceland (due to start this coming Saturday) has been cancelled, so she will be home to recuperate without the burden of travel

Ken...
Thanks for sharing....what a tough 24 hours the two of you have had. Glad to know that Kathryn is in good hands and not suffering in too much pain. I know I speak for all of us here in the villiage to say we will keep you both in our thoughts and prayers.

When one of us is hurting, the rest of us pull together to send loving thoughts, prayers and comfort in a huge cyber hug. Tell kathryn we love her and to rest. We know you are right there with her. We will be in our usual cyber space waiting room tapping our feet till Kathryn and you are home safe and sound. :D

Yes, too much on my mind today; clarity would be a welcome result. I'm headachy from the "festival" late night. Needless to say I didn't feel festive - music way too loud and not enjoyable. We had a reserved table at a restaurant that adjoined the festival grounds so at least weren't crowded with stinky, sweating people and didn't stand in line for food, etc. We were home by 11:15 and I was exhausted but had trouble sleeping, then slept in until 10 a.m. this morning. I just now finished with newspaper, breakfast. I still need to walk the dog boys....

(I didn't realize dh had planned for us to go last night - I understood that we were going next week, but didn't realize he had last night planned also. I had really looked forward to not having to go much this weekend.)

Dh has gone to the local market. He had "plans" for us to go out for brunch but I told him that after being out late last night it really wasn't a good plan for me. Goal for today is to do a ton of needed paperwork related to my dsis - report to the court and the admissions paperwork for nursing home. I also need a trip to dmom's and am hoping I can get that in.

Sooooo....
-make the bed
-change clothes
-walk ddogs
-clear/wipe kitchen counters
-brush/floss teeth

Oh, just saw Ken's report on Kathryn....yes, I'm heading into the virtual waiting room passing out magazines and reading material while we wait for Kathryn's return. Also bringing in tall glasses of ice water with lemons and limes for garnish for our sipping pleasure.

Oh Dear! Thank you Ken for letting us know about Kathryn's situation. I couldn't help wondering what was going on about the trip. It just didn't seem right to be planning that still. Our higher power certainly took care of that. It is for the best. Get well soon Kathryn! :D
