MANAGING MONDAY

Couldn't think of a topic for today. So this is it -manage your day. I will try to manage mine (mainly "manage DH!)

Dh came into bed about 10:30 last night and said, "I overdid it!" About 2:30 he asked for pain med. So today he is relaxing & resting and taking SHORT walks. He didn't walk all that far yesterday, but obviously too far for him yet. If he can push the recovery speed he will. Think he realizes now that pushing/not "pacing" will slow him down. He just had way too much company and talking. He decided he wanted to ride around the pond in our golf cart -after DS-A & family had been here for dinner (they brought it). I took him, but with stopping many times along the way to talk with people, it took us nearly an hour & a half to make the trip. Told you he should be 'mayor'. Visiting nurse yesterday told him to "PACE" don't push! I just hung a sign on the patio door that says just that!! His oxygen level is falling too low even with a very short walk. And his heart beat is erratic. So.....................

Dh just decided he'd like a sweat suit to put on so may make a trip in to K mart shortly. Forgot there was one of those much closer than w mart. Won't need to be gone so long.

Hoping Kathryn got some rest last night -know how hard that is in a hospital. We'll be waiting for word from today's procedure.

Dh was just reading the sports page. Young man we know who played in the PGA this weekend earned $228,000 from this one tournament. Can't even imagine. DS-R used to play golf with him and his DGFather. Who'd a 'thunk' it. Imagine he's been able to pay off his college loans. ;)

What wonderful good fortune for your friend, Dee. Find your pace, Mr. DeeClutter!

Agreeing that the thought of constant hospital awakenings crossed my mind, too. Just when the room is starting to seem normal the door opens to the bright hallway and a rattling cart rolls in. A voice that would seem cheery at 8:00 a.m. just sounds mean at 3:00 a.m. That's one of the things that makes a hospital such a wonderful place to leave.

Glad to see Norma yesterday.

Wondering if Twins Mom just went on to her training after all.

((Lynlee)), it is so easy to internalize the worries of others when we know those worries from experience.

Like Sunny's family, we are seeing the benefits of the first week of summer vacation.

Dd14 is doing a load of laundry while mopping the kitchen floor. Gee, that's nice.

It's tougher to get her ddad out the door when she's here. LOL. They both tend to want a shower at the same time and want in the kitchen at the same time. His regular morning query, "Can I pick anything up?" is met with a list! She fed Tobias this a.m. for the first time in a long time and gave him so much! Oh well, that will make him nice and lazy when she is ready to clip his toenails, also on her agenda today.

G' morning all! I've been on the phone already with nursing home, hospital and dsis and I think today is moving day for her.

I decided not to go to the continuing education thing today. Too much OMM and not a good use of my time for today. OTOH, sitting here at the computer isn't a good use either. :? I'm having trouble sleeping w/o a benydryl lately, my mind starts racing with all the stuff I haven't done. I really don't have the heart for the temple stuff right now and I feel bad about that.

Clear kitchen counters
change clothes
walk ddogs
s2s after walk
make the bed

Dd1 and I walked this morning but cut it short. I was doing the clomping thing again. I was pretty sedentary (lazy) Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday. So I am hoping that is it.

Dd1, dsil and dgd16 are leaving today for a 4 day vacation. They are going to Colorado. One day they will be hiking with 9 different ziplines interspersed and that afternoon they are doing a raft trip. The next day is a 6 hour trail ride. Dgs19 is away at a College Bible Bowl Tournament. He goes to Nationals next month. Their idea of a vacation didn't interest him and he didn't want to take any more time off of work, so they scheduled this while he is gone, with his blessing.

As dh drove off today, he noticed that someone had knocked over our mailbox. He needed to get gas, so called me and I went and picked it up out of the street. A smashed beer can fell out. We need a new mailbox anyway. I just wish they would have done it Friday or Saturday night, when dh could have taken care of it over the weekend.

Today we hit the triple digits and they will be hanging around for days to come.

I need to buy groceries today. If I could think of meals to fix, it would make it easier.

Good Morning!

adjusting my seat in the virtual waiting room while we wait to hear about Kathryn....

This morning found me scrambling to catch up from missed phone calls and messages. Somehow my phone turned itself off. I missed 2 phone calls last night and one call this morning, plus 6 text messages. One of the calls was from lawyer when her flight was cancelled. She isn't going to be back in time for our appt today so we are rescheduled for tomorrow. That meant scrambling to get hold of 3 generations who were scheduled to arrive at our home in a couple hours to care for LO while we went to meeting.

LO is dressed & ready for his first swim lesson of the year. He had a strong opinion about not wearing his boots to the pool. He was okay with wearing swim trunks but saw no reason to give up his boots. Oh boy. Getting him out of his jeans/boots is like pulling teeth. DMom has been talked with LO for weeks trying to get him to wear shorts this summer. LO isn't budging on his desire to wear jeans like all his mentors do.

We are joining Cowinkle, MT, Lilac (and maybe others) in over 100 degree temps. The weather forecast says every day this week is going to be triple digits.

*POOF*ing out the door

I'm just feeling like I'm not gettin' much done these days. Although yesterday I did get through the 60 pages of forms/agreements, etc. for dsis and got those scanned and sent off. I start feeling so overwhelmed when I think about all the clutter here and all on my li&t.

Must dos for today:
Pick up dog food at vet for dMacs
Visit dmom
complete court reports for dsis that are late
what else?

Nice to do:
Pedicure
Petsmart for glucosamine for ddogs
Grocery store for toilet paper (but I think we could hold out another day....typical procrastinator)

OKay, my ds was always stubborn about getting out of long pants in the summer, until he just was roasting. I think it was something about those white legs!

Good morning ladies!! Yep, Kathryn's surgery is definitely OMM today. Joining you all in the waiting room.

smiling at the picture of LO wearing swim trunks and cowboy boots this morning. :)

((Twins)) I hope you get to make progress on some of those OMM items today. SOunds good you opted out of the continuing ed. You have so much going on.

Yes, hoping dh finds his pace, Dee.

Nice that dd14 is pitching in at home, Harriet.

WTG Lilac with the regular walking, even if it had to be cut short this morning.

Done:
x cats morning meds, including eye drops; she continues to be SO easy to medicate!! We're even doing better with the eye drops
x drove ds to work so dd17 can have the car to drive to school today - for some reason I don't quite remember, giving a friend a ride for some reason??
x fed ddogs; puppy care as needed
x a.m. routine, minus starting laundry

I'm remembering many balls that I have dropped/am in the process of dropping. I need to write them down before I get that feeling of drowning in things that need to be done.

ToDo:
- laundry
- bank: cashier's check?
- maybe get teaching cert. renewal in the mail?
- groc. run at some point
- Lily to vet's at 1:30; hoping and praying she can go ahead and get the bad eye out w/out a need to open up the other side to look behind the good eye. Basically, I'm hoping the pressure in the good eye is normalizing.
- exercise?
- finish book club book
- dd17 to appt. at 3:15
- book club at 8 pm

Dd17 should be picking up ds from work at 5 and then taking the puppy to kindergarten at 6; I hope that is OK with her finals beginning tomorrow. Dd15 has one this morning, but other than 7th hour finals, today is a regular school day w/ shortened classes. I think drumline practice for dd15 is cancelled tonight due to finals. Dh has a church committee meeting tonight - at the church this week. Next week, a different committee he's heading up will meet at our home, as it did last week.

I was rainy this morning. It looks like it has stopped. Dh went for a run anyway. I didn't b/c of chauffeuring ds and the heavy rain earlier this a.m. He is back and in the shower now.

Good morning, villagers ~

Checking in to see how everyone is getting along. I stopped by last night long enough to cuop and have been thinking about Kathryn. Thanks to Ken for the initial notice. How cool is it that they can login even from the hospital and save having to make a bunch of phone calls!

Keeping an eye on MrDee's progress, too. I guess it's a good sign that he even thinks he wants to be up and out so soon? But what a job, convincing a workaholic to relax.

I was just too exhausted to post anything last night. I've been buried in the library's basement for 4 days finishing up the annual book sale. We ended up doing ok for sales. This afternoon after the library opens I need to go do some final little bits of cleanup, return the key I had checked out, and then go to the bank with the deposit. Then I'm going to try to stay away from the library until Friday or Saturday. Need a break!

This morning so far I have
*fed the cats
*washed some dishes
*replied to several Emails
*read and deleted several more Emails
*did some arms exercises, and
* DPC called my usual lab to see if they have an order for bloodwork. They do not have an order, so I decided to make life easier and see if the doctor will refill my prescription without that extra step.
*Another DPC and the PA said she would call in the Rx to the pharmacy, so I can pick that up tomorrow.

It helps a lot that I don't have to drive into The Big City for that blood draw. Decided to cook and eat breakfast before s2s so I could cuop at the same time. Now I think I will do some more chores and then maybe another set of exercises before s2s.

Swim trunks and cowboy boots  8-)
