WORKIN' WEDNESDAY

How are you working today?

So far I spent a 1/2 hour looking for garage passes for the hospital. Strange -they were right where I put them- just wasn't looking in the right container. Now it's on to s2s. I've had meds & breakfast.

Going to pick dd up about 9 to go to the hospital. Have a feeling dh may come home later, once they get meds straightened around -as long as there are no surprises in tests run last night. Dh's words: "Dang, well I'm not happy, but glad they've found something". Looking back on yesterday I realize he was becoming more lethargic as the day wore on. He couldn't walk 20' without becoming very short of breath. Bells should have gone off earlier. He is good about going to the dr. but he just kept thinking it was a momentary fluke. Not.

May you all have a good day. Waiting till a little after 8 to call our church's prayer chain.

Good Morning!

((((LynLee)))) Bless your heart. I hope the pain gets manageable soon.

Dee - glad to see you posting. Thanks for the start this morning.

Not working today. More appts. the story of my life lately.

This morning I'm taking DMom to appt with family doctor. I'm trying to decide whether to speak with doctor about her memory lapses. She is getting confused about things and frequently has total memory lapses. I want to say it is grief related and just monitor it.....hum.....but on the other hand... what if it isn't? They say medication helps with dementia if started early. Hummmm.....

Yesterday when i stopped by for a visit, DMom had her dining room table covered with papers. She was pulling stuff out from everywhere trying to find the bank deposit key. She was frustrated and had been looking for hours. This sounds like a normal happening for ME, but for DMom it isn't normal. Just itty bitty things that are continually happening out of her norm. Hum....writing this out has helped me see how small it is. I'm leaning toward grief related. I'm thinking continual doses of love and understanding combined with time will bring her through just fine.

Meanwhile DH is taking LO to his counselor appt while I'm with DMom.

You'll NEVER regret saying something, Okay -but you might if you don't say anything. Make sense? DD told me that a few years ago when I was debating deviating from our route just a little to see Harriet. I am so glad we did. I have used that little phrase numerous times since.

Dee - thank you for reminding me about that. I don't want to regret delaying. I'll speak to DMom about it on our drive to town and go from there. I don't want to ambush her with my concern in the doctors office.

OKay, you are probably right to suspect grief, but don't make the diagnosis yourself.

I'm suspecting morphine and/or anesthetic for my complete inability to write/type this morning. To the point of copy typing something and the finished result basically say the same thing as the original but in completely different words.

Slept fine last night. Got up at 2 for a bathroom run but didn't feel the need for more pain meds. Took two ibuprofin this morning. My insides have sharp pains from time to time and I'm not breathing as deeply as I should but in general, I'm just sore, not in pain. Will monitor this through the day.

Really concerned about the typing issue - all posts take 2 - 3x as long as possible due to mixed signals between brain and fingers. Glad I don't have to write a sermon right now. (Next ones are due for July 21, July 28 and August 11).

K in C call your son and see what he says about your symptoms. have to limit my reading kids books out loud time with this cold how ever so we just look at the pictures.

Fever sinus probs. can some times I remember when I was a kid we called it being rummy in the head.

Rain rain rain & more rain we need it but it's wet outside! I'm up it's raining here we had a 3 hr. power outage in the night just went back to bed and it was on in the morning. A power pole fire was the cause.

Dgd wanted to spend the night glad I said no now b/c of the power being out. Said to wait until I did not have this cold. She will be here soon enough for the morning and babyN as well.

I have a plan for dinner, dishes need done, I'm going to use the slow & steady approach like I did yesterday got quite a bit done with out over doing it! Yea for that.

H. just left for work they have plenty for him to do even with the rain today.

Lynlee, please tell your IRL friend that we appreciate her "putting feet on our prayers". She sounds so kind.

Oh, Dee, I hope he can come home soon. That would be a relief.

OKay, you may remember the famous med beginning with an A twice caused extraordinary digestive issues, ER, hospitalization, in our family's caregiving experience. Medicines in that class are called Cholinesterase inhibitors. (There is another class, with which I don't have experience, that may be fine.) So just keep a healthy dose of skepticism and ask questions. Thyroid and B-12 levels can sometimes be treated and reverse these symptoms. We had some helpful experience with both those interventions at different times.

Good morning! My plan for today was a trip to see my dsis but last night I had dh listen to a "noise" my car was making and he recommended getting it checked, so hee I sit in the waiting room.

Meeting last night was good, actually rec'd a compliment from this witch ;) that I spke of.

I feel so behind in so many things and at home my house is a mess. I spent too much time on temple biz yesterday and not enough on my other stuff. Balance. It's looking more like this won't be a trip day and I'll need to do that on Friday, back to back w funeral on Saturday for a cousin that will be two hrs in the other direction.

Okay, Harriet's comments reminded me that thyroid issues can happen after a stressful time. Thyroid issues can also cause memory problems if untreated. Your dm's stress level after losing your ddad could have caused a thyroid issue to arise. It is just a thought, but a simple blood test would answer that question. Thyroid problems untreated can cause so many health issues. I would hate for her and you to have to deal with them when they can be treated with a daily pill.

Dd1 and I have walked. Today is the 1st day of a 6 week Bible Study that she is leading. I hope she has a good turnout.

Last night dd1 and I met dd2 and the kids at the ballpark. The 2nd game was over 30 minutes late starting, due to the previous game continually being tied. About half way into the game it started thundering and then lightening. Yikes. We had watched the clouds and it looked like it was going to split and go around us. That is very common for our area. Then all of a sudden it formed into quite the storm. It was scary getting all the chairs packed up, etc. and getting to the cars. I had mine bagged and over my shoulder and was carrying 3 of dd2's. When she opened the back of her vehicle, I couldn't get them tossed in quick enough for me. Luckily we were parked within a few places from her. When I came in dh was in the basement. He didn't realize it was raining. He had been watching the radar and thought is was going to split also, so had quit monitoring it. He was surprised like we were. We have had rain 3 out of the last 4 nights. I don't remember the last time I could say that.

I told dd2 last night that I can watch dgd3 today, if dgd16 won't. Guess I better hit the shower, because I am betting dgd3 will be coming here.

Load of laundry hung outside (almost all on hanging rack, not line because I have to stretch for the line.) Dh carried the basket downstairs. After the washer finished, I put the clothes in it from the washer and kicked it across the house to the deck. So no lifting. It was a small load, couldn't do that with sheets, they'd be too heavy.

I've started muffins. Minister is due here in 30 minutes.

Kitchen is tidied. Now that I've made a half dozen muffins, the dough fits into a tupperware container so that frees up room in the fridge (which is full of my soup, veggies, and ds' s drink and food.) My lunch today will be soup for #1 and possibly an egg for #2. I've got the makings of a omelet.

Dh has a potential business meeting in Toronto on July 2. Train is currently on sale so I think we might go down for an overnight and take in a Blue Jays game. Or two nights and take in a show as well. My senior friend had hinted at doing this later in the summer (after we were back) so we'll invite her along. We'll need a suite hotel so I can have a fridge and stove top but I've found one convenient to the train, theatre district and ball park.
