Let's get out there and be sensible!
What problems can you solve today by applying good sense?
When we look around at others, we may realize we are uniquely qualified!
Common sense is genius dressed in its working clothes.

The three great essentials to achieve anything worth while are: Hard work, Stick-to-itiveness, and Common sense.

Love it, Harriet! I Did finally use common sense this morning. We were going to have dinner (with 2 guests) at DS-R's RV and watch fireworks from there. Sounded good until I started thinking about everything we had to drag over there for dinner -all the work and energy, plus having dh over there for 6 hours or so. And finally realizing we wouldn't even have a bathroom over there. So we're having dinner here where everything (including the bathroom) are handy. "Common Sense"!
I've s2s, made the bed, did the dishes and now have to get the chicken in the crockpot. And make the potato salad. Trying a new recipe with salt potatoes.

Good morning, Harriet and all the villagers! How can I use common sense today when the persistent rain is making me craaaaaazy? I'm glad to see Dee's application of common sense, however; sounds like a good plan.
I don't know what today holds...dMacs has PT at 11:30 today with the "other" physical therapist. Ours (who had seen Macs through the two surgeries on his back legs) is away for a couple of weeks. She had let us know when we paid in advance for 10 weeks that her mother was terminally ill and that she would likely be off. Will be interesting to see Macs with a different physical therapist - he is very suspicious of changes although we will be in the same room w same equipment.
I suspect dh and I may try to go to Costco today after finding it closed on July 4.
Yesterday I ended up unproductive - spent too long at temple then came home to nap instead of going to dmom's. I still need to get there this weekend.

Twins I was wondering about Costco being open on the 4th I knew ours was closed here but it was too late for me to post and make a diff. thought maybe not all were closed every where.
Farmer's Mkt. in a while hoping to get some sensible in season veggies there. Then lunch and a store run.
It was a cool 54* when I went out to do chicken chore here this morning.
Harriet I'm bummed to know RIR eggs will be lighter as they age I did not know that thanks for letting me know.
K in C thinking of you.
I've felt better earlier in the week than I have the past two days sigh so will be sensible and try not to over do it.

Met the weekend surgeon who is following me and he's fabulous.
I'm to have an ERCP on Monday (go look it up.) He told me not to sign a consent until I was happy with the info I had and not to worry about not signing. He was surprised I had not seen the doc before the MRCP yesterday and even more surprised he was explaining the results to me, since the other doc should have.
He won't start me on full fluid diet until I can take clear fluid without pain. I've been arguing for something to clear out my bowels so he wrote a second order (nurse last night said there was no order) and that is in place now. I'm sure I'll feel better once things shift in there. In the middle of the night I was passing gas but couldn't pass anything else without some help.Which makes sense since I'm not getting any food at all to push through what remains from earlier this week. He's right about the pain, if I have OJ or jello, I get nauseous and I'm still in pain which to him is a sign that the pancreas still hasn't healed. If that is the case, then I can't have any food because any food will irritate the pancreas.
So far, not a stellar day but at least I'm off the IV for now. He'd rather I be on it but I pointed out that it restricts my movement too much so I'm better off moving around without it and drinking enough on my own. My lipase count was back to 1000 today, from 10K two days ago, so I've passed at least one stone. There is a second stone stuck in my cystic duct that they'll go after on Monday.

Crazy side effect, Kathryn! Can't believe you're still fighting those stones. Be so glad when we don't have to worry about you or dh any more.
Dh's bp this morning was 169/101 before meds, later in the morning after meds it was 136/77. I'm guessing dr. will probably want him taking something more at night. He takes the 1 pill (which nurse explained yesterday is a pace maker in a pill) at night and a small dose of Lisinopril & Lasix in the morning. Obviously not enough to get his bp down. Hoping I can get him to rest a bit this afternoon.
Yikes! I have to print out a couple of recipes and get them made!!! Doing chicken breasts (Sweet baby rays chicken) in the crock pot. Needs to cook for several hours. Better get moving!

Morning y'all...
Sorry to hear you're still not feeling well Kathryn. Hopefully this adventure will be over soon.
I am looking at a slow Sat. which will be perfect for me. I want to do some more work on my genealogy. I want to take my mom to the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania while I'm home. I have contacted them with the information I am looking for and hopefully someone within in the group can point me to the right direction. I'm thinking that since my mom and I will be in the Philadelphia area we might as well do the touristy thing. Though I've done the Liberty Bell and walked the streets of Ol' Philadelphia as a kid, it would be much more interesting to me knowing that my direct 7th generational grandfather was the one who designed the area and streets.
I have done my morning routine. Have a bit of a headache, but I think its do, in part, to the weather and whatever is floating in the air. My eyes are itchy and my nose is dripping. Even Willis is having a case of the sneezes.
Mama bird was off the nest this morning allowing me time to look at the eggs. She is down to two. One egg has been cracked open and there is a dead chick in it. The egg is still mingled with the two others. Anyone want to giv eme their thoughts on that???

Sounds like the kind of test dr has been talking to dh about having if he keeps having those painful attacks. Never ever shows signs on tests of gall bladder. Has had the endoscopy however & that showed the Barret's Esophogus last year. Hope this will be the last one you have to have, Kathryn.
I'm trying to get dinner together and it feels like Murphy's law!!!!!

Very interesting about the ERCP. Sorry that
Kathryn is still having trouble. My surgeon used a dye to check that all the bile ducts were clear and no stones were left behind. He went to great lengths to do this as I have an allergy to shellfish, so surgery was delayed for a day while I took steroids and benadryl to guard against any possible reaction to the iodine in the dye.
Thankful for air conditioning today! Dh will go back out and finish yard work when things cool off a bit out there.
Glad I cooked extra chicken yesterday. We had chicken salad for lunch. Have leftovers from the fourth for supper.
I took down the medicine cabinet that no longer closed correctly and hung a mirror in its place. Now I need to move another mirror into the spot where that mirror was. I have one, so no purchase required. Will donate the old medicine cabinet.
Looking for ways to apply common sense...

We are in Sturgis, SD, now. It was only a few hours drive thru the beautiful Black Hills.
We are here with 13 other Escapees for a mini rally. We are all so tired from the last one that this one won't be very lively.
Hugs to KIC and I hope all the pain goes away fast.
Hugs to Twins as things done by committee are a pain in the you know what. You know a giraffe is a horse put together by a committee.
