Welcome to the Weekend!
Even for those of us not working outside the home, the weekend always has a different vibe since it is when so many family/entertaining events happen.
What can you do to get yourself ready for the weekend?

I'm up.
I didn't remake the bed with clean sheets because I've only been in it 2 nights this week. Don't know if I'll remake it in the middle of next week or not.
My tea is steeping.
I haven't done vitals yet, I suppose I should do that before my tea.
I haven't taken drugs since 4. I guess I should take something for my 'pain' (more discomfort.) When I yawn or burp it feels as if someone is shoving me hard in the stomach. I get fleeting sharp pains as well but they are all over my abdomen, not in one spot. I wasn't productive last night and I think it was because I stretched the pain killers too far. One thing about pancreatic pain - regular pain killers won't touch it, you either have to live with it (which I could if this was only as bad as it gets) or take a narcotic of some sort.
Today I have to decide by lunch time if we are going away or not.

Woke up really tired this morning, would have slept in except that I need to get ready for cleaning lady, who will probably be here within the hour. I'll take ddogs out to walk when I'm done with the straightening up for her.
I've read the paper and need to get moving.

Good Morning
Sunny - what a fun time with your Dfamily! I hope I remember the baking soda paste solution for bee stings. Love simple solutions that work well.
Kathryn - I think you are recovering remarkable well and fast. You are doing a good job monitoring your body signals.
Twins - You are such a good sister & daughter. POTB!
I keep looking forward to having days spent at home during summer break, however they have been few and far between. Most of today will be spent away from home. This morning is WW meeting and one-on-one time with DGS16. This evening we will travel to vDFriends home for Friday Night Gang gathering.

I could feel your thoughts with me yesterday!
Wise funeral director reversed the order and placed graveside first so that we got ahead of the band of weather approaching. This meant that early arrivals were in the sanctuary and never knew, but that is a small thing. Then because so many never got to graveside, the minister invited everyone into the fellowship hall after the funeral. Since my maternal cousin is a deacon there, he just hung out with us and waited as long as it took before locking up the church, and helped us carry plants.
One of the pall bearers had not arrived at the time we went to graveside, so HRH stepped in, which was ideal for him - something to do to help without getting his name in the bulletin - lol, ideal.
The friend who spoke was far from modest about my ddad, but I hope he could be forgiven that. I can't help but see things through my mother's eyes - what would she have thought - and I know she would have wanted more modesty, yet I also know she never felt their extended families knew how respected he was. The pastor took an experience from my ddad's life - being rudely asked, "Are you for real?" by a young man who had overheard him praying. He contrasted it to a story Tolstoy wrote about a man whose brother made fun of him when he found out he still prayed.
Lots of appearances of extended family and old friends made us very happy.
Dd33 and family are still here at my parents' house and about to burst through my door - 5 nights home is a long visit for them. In honor of kind things said on our boards yesterday, I will greet them in an apron! Good idea - they haven't seen me wear one much this visit. They will leave later today. HRH says we're "not going to do anything" for a week. That's a laugh, but I see his point.

Harriet: HRH is wise. Try and not do anything out of the ordinary if you can. You need time to recover from all the social events you've endured over the past week.
Your routines don't count - they have the power to help you feel normal and in control so do as much of those as you want.
Prepare yourself for the 'grief' cold (that's what my sister calls it.) About 10 days after all the commotion, she reliably would get sick and I've noticed I do too. Your body has been through a lot. I'd up my stress vitamins and try and be extra kind to my body. Stroll around the property, snuggle with grandbabies, put on calming music while you work around, make it out to the quilt studio when you are ready.

If I am going today, we leave in 5 hours. The dilaudin I took at 8 has taken effect so I need to get moving now.
I've had breakfast but still need to s2s.

Just got back from pulmonary Dr visit for dh. Wants to see him again in 6 weeks. Will do a chest x-ray then to be sure lungs are clear by then. Fine line right now between heart & lungs. He will probably start cardiac rehab next week. Dr wants to keep him 'busy'
DD just got a kick in the gut via a phone call. More in J&C.
Hope you can enjoy your grandchildren today & then start this long process of recovery, Harriet. Know you're no stranger to all this process, but do take care of YOU! You are loved from near and afar!
