What are your thoughts today?
Or have you woken up enough to have any?!

My first thought is how tired I am. Didn't get to bed until past midnight. The long sermon is done; it is a joy to be able to go on as long as I want and not be limited to 10 minutes, especially this week when all the readings combine to present a wider picture than I can usually work with.
My second thought is how much I want to get going on decluttering my stuff in our bedroom.
Ds helped dh move the dresser into the bedroom last night so I'll have some work to do there this evening. For now, I'm trying to stay out and not let it distract me. Some rearranging needs to be done. For instance, there is a chair in front of my drawers at the moment! The exercise room will be slightly changed but mostly just cleaned in the corner where the dresser used to be. Dh did a good job cleaning out the dresser. I saw him fetch a green garbage bag and when I peeked this morning it was much emptier. It has 3 drawers and 2 shelves and one shelf is practically empty and one drawer is much less full now too.
My third thought is when the heck is ds going to actually buy his ticket for Australia and apply for the visa.
Ds sat in the kitchen last night and chatted away while I was trying to write. Sigh... Love him but it cost me at least 45 minutes of sleep. He's planning on leaving in less than 2 months but hasn't yet applied for the visa or bought an airline ticket yet. And since I have to buy a ticket for dd to travel the Canada portion of the trip with him, the longer he waits the more it will cost me.
I believe that ds is his mother's son and has inherited a weakness I inherited from my father. Spending large amounts of money literally makes me ill. I'm great at planning and researching options, and even negotiating deals, but when it comes time to press 'confirm' on an online purchase, or write the cheque for something like a car, I get flu-like symptoms. Thankfully, dh has no problem taking over for me at that point but hates to research and negotiate so we are an excellent partnership. I suspect it isn't the leaving that is causing ds to delay and delay but the actual spending of 1/3 of the money he's saved up over the past 18 months.
My final thought is "where the heck did the time go this morning?!"
I rolled out of bed before 7:30 and skipped all my exercising and physio. But still I should be at the church office in an hour and am not s2s, nor have I had my breakfast.
*Poof!*

Not thinking yet, I'm afraid.
Going for a quick breakfast at T Horton's when dd gets around. Gd spent the night at DS-A's house with DSGD13. Have to pick her up after breakfast. Will also have dgs8 with us. He's always so easy. Good thing as we start Granny duty next week. He and DS-R go to Wampum, PA tomorrow for regional WKA races. Next week both families go there for Nationals. DGS13 has decided he'd like to get back in a cart again. He's raced the last couple of weeks locally. He can't compete but he can run.
Funny thing has happened along the way. Think I've talked before about finding dimes after dShelley passed away. Ever since we've saved every dime and give it to Ms. Carol at the WKA events for her African orphanage. People at our church in FL got wind of it and started giving me dimes for there. Then dgs8 heard what that was all about early this spring & has been saving all his dimes. DD put a dime he had on the table last night into the mix and he missed it, and said "Hey, who took my dime? That was for Ms. Carol's orphanage." Now DS-R has been saving change forever and gave dgs a job before next week's trip to PA -sort out all the dimes from his change stash so they can take them to Ms. Carol.

He's learning the power of giving at an early age.
Poured here during the night with lots of long, long thunder and lightening.
Afraid I began to fall apart last night. Dh was coughing so bad and finally sat up and said, "Hon, what am I going to do?" We finally just took a ride around on the golf cart just to get out. DD, DDIL, DS-R, & dgs8 got back from dinner just about that time. And she could tell I was fighting tears. Just was one of the difficult evenings, but I'm ok this morning. Dh even sounds a little better.
Sunny, I'm not sure when he had his last PSA but if he hasn't recently I know it'll be on the radar for next month's appointment.

Dh asked dd last night if she'd like to rent her MH out for 2-3 weeks later this month. He was going to try to get it winterized when she leaves (tomorrow), but will wait to see if these people actually rent it. Nice opportunity for her.
Think I'll do up my dishes as long as we're waiting for dd and dgs8. Does that count as a 'thought'?

Hey, ya'll.
I'm thinking, I'm thinking.... nope, nothing yet.
Sunny, ironing is a very questionable activity indeed. The way to think about jury duty is that there may be one person involved (no way to know which one) who needs you to be wise and willing to lend your opinion. Maybe that one person is worth it. The travel to these things is usually problematic, yes, as is parking. But just remember everybody parking/driving around you at the time is somehow doing it, and you are certainly more capable than they are.
ellyphant, I thought of you yesterday when I missed a highway exit (it was no big deal, Sunny) and had to travel out of my way. I passed a sign that said I was leaving our river's basin and entering another, and you popped into my mind! I really didn't know there are signs now on the highway to make sure you know which river basin the groundwater is going to. I suppose this is significant if you need to dump out a fast-food cup, or if you are traveling with a little boy.
HRH has a late meeting/appt today so he's still hanging around. I'm trying to convince him to wear a better looking shirt... ...
So glad Mr. DeeClutter feels a little better this a.m. Would sleeping on a wedge pillow help?
Lilac, thanks for the recommendation.
Harmony, glad you had a productive day.

Wow, I just seen on the weather channel that we are in a flash flood watch until 1 pm. I have NEVER seen that in the 31+ years that we have lived here. Another first, yesterday I heard the weather forecast on the radio as I was getting out of bed, HEAVY rain for Wednesday and Thursday. Dsil who is a farmer/rancher has had a lot of people offer to send him on vacation the next time we need rain, because all this rain started while they were gone.
Dd1 and I have walked. She is having dd2, dgd17 and I over for strawberry waffles for lunch. That is something we have done for years. Usually we do it at least twice during the summer but it has flew by and this year we will settle for once.
Dgd16 is having her braces taken off today. She inherited my dfils teeth, which is a space between every tooth. They had to wait for her to quit growing to put them on. Also one tooth was pulled, so after they are off, they will make her a retainer with a tooth attached. Once she no longer needs the retainer, she will have a tooth implanted. It is just off center of her mouth, so has to be done.
Dgd16 had her hair trimmed and highlighted yesterday. She ended up with a purple streak that she didn't want. So after spending all that money, she went and bought a box of dark color. After washing her hair with Dawn, she colored her hair. She is a blonde so I have never figured out why she wants dark hair. Her malfunction while they were school clothes shopping was that she has put on weight and needed a bigger size. To this I say, "it is dd1s fault, how?"
Guess I better figure out what I am wearing today and get it ironed, so that I can shower.

Good morning, villagers ~
My thought on waking was oh I wish I could stay home again today. I am impatient at having to go to the dentist later this morning, and the library group meeting this evening, when I really want to stay home and continue catching up from being away for 6 days.
Technically this is my 3rd day back home, but I don't think I can count Tuesday. I was running around most of the day getting ready for sewing group meeting that night, and then ended up having a committee meeting after the main meeting.
Part of the grumpiness is also that yesterday I thought I would be able to have a "me" day. Instead I ended up spending a significant amount of time solving a problem through DPCs and Emails for the sewing group.
Ah well, it looks like it will be a pretty day outdoors for running errands in The Big City. I think I'll take the remaining newspapers along in the car and try to find a park where I can read them between the dentist and lunch. I always take a water thermos with me, and it will be a pleasant break. We don't need much for groceries so that will be a quick stop.
I've been sitting long enough handling Emails. I'll wash some dishes, s2s, and check what else I need to do for tonight's meeting.

Hello, dear ladies!
I have not CUOP and have not even been on the computer for a week. But I just came on to read today's posts and must reply to
Harriet! I know that sign you are talking about. We passed by there last Friday as we headed to in-laws. I thought of you when we passed by there, too!

I also thought of
Harmony, as there is a town by that name, and a big sign, as we headed south from the Virginia state line.
We have arrived back home after helping to clean out Dh's family home. We did get a rental truck, so we were able to bring back some family treasures. My thoughts today are that this was a wonderful bonding time for Dh and his siblings. Old rivalries have disappeared as we all worked to help their parents. It's also pretty amazing that everyone got something they liked and it seemed that no 2 people wanted the same item! What a blessing this was. I remember all the fussing and ugliness when my grandparents' house was cleaned out. There was none of that with Dh's family.
I'll be back after I scan some of your posts from the past week. Happy Thursday, everyone!

Well, I didn't completely stay away from the bedroom rearranging but will have to do more when I get back home tonight.
And I was late to the office. But I'm there and have handled phone calls and sorted out the in-trays on the minister's desk. Almost all was recycled. Now to write the second sermon. I'll put on some music to keep me company as it is very quiet here. The feng shui furniture arrangement is poor and I'll have to move to the meeting table since my back is to the stairwell. Creeps me out so I can't concentrate. The secretary's desk is fine, but this desk is poorly arranged and I don' t think there's a way to rearrange the room so they are both fine, especially considering where the electrical plugs are.

I just realized I haven't posted for a couple of days. All is well here, I'm just chillin' out.
Just used up 2 over ripe bananas in some banana/pecan muffins. It made more than I needed so the tops are all one big blob. It has about 10 minutes more to bake.
I took my dishes over to the shower house. They have a deep sink outside with hot and cold water. Much easier to do dishes than in my little toy sink in the MH. I can also use all the water I need rather than just dribbles because it will fill up my waste water tank.
Think we are going over to the Indian Reservation at Knife River today. They have a lot of recreations of what it looked like when Lewis and Clark spent the winter here.
