Round Robin Monday

Good morning! Do you know where your timer is?
I did a rewrite on this little ode the other day.
Ode to a Round Robin
Now in life, we know "variety's spice".
And we need to keep chore plans concise.
Lists might make us frantic;
So, think efficiency, not panic.
“Have Timer, Will Travel.” How nice!
Round and round the house we go! Even if you aren't having a classic Round Robin day, with maybe 15 in every room/project, add variety anyway. Switch what you're doing every once in a while. If you're seated too long, stand up a while.

Harriet - Thank you for sharing! Love the new poem
For the past 16 hours, I have been experiencing a round of stomach virus. I told DH it reminds me of preparation for a colonscope, without any help from meds.

I feel fine, but I need to stay close to the bathroom. DH offered to do my typical morning cards that require me leaving the house.
My list is made. My tweaked schedule in place. Cards are waiting. PODA is set. I'm ready to have a good day.

Good morning, villagers ~
Thanks for the fun opening, Harriet.
Yesterday morning as soon as I heard a predicted high of 97F actual temp, the plan for doing anything outside went away. DH and I had a nice easy day relaxing indoors.
DH watched a marathon of Game of Thrones Season 1 DVDs which I found at the library. He likes the complicated plot. It's too violent for me.
I watched a couple old movies and spent quite awhile researching recipes and food storage ideas.
DH is home again today, which I didn't expect. Hope he's ok with a ham sandwich for lunch because that's about all we have. Must buy groceries tomorrow.
The radio has already announced early school closings for schools that don't have a/c. We'll be in the upper 90s again with heat index well over 100. I had already planned a Slow-Motion Apron Day anyway. If I get far enough ahead with chores, I might be able to run away to sew tomorrow.

Two timers on the stove and one on my wrist cuz I am flying.
In Halifax waiting for luggage. Woot! I am home!
Update: luggage arrived, now waiting for car rental (we are slightly sooner than I anticipated so the car isn't ready.
I'm exhausted due to only 5 hours of rest.
Dh and I were upgraded to business class because the plane was overfull (and he has Million Mile status) so the fact that we weren't sitting next to each other originally became a moot point.
Our flight home should be equally crowded but no chance for an upgrade because we are flying on WestJet which has no business class. It was $300 cheaper so became an easy decision at the time but dh is grumbling a bit now.

Good morning I can try using the alarm feature on this
unit and see how it works. I have some cooking to do this morning.
Cool I like the predictive feature on my tablet.

I am fascinated by those who travel so easily. I watch several here travel frequently and also DSon. Maybe it is a learned skill? The ability and desire to adapt to changing surroundings seems to be more than that. It seems to be something that people either do well or struggle with. For those who do it so well, my hat is off to you!
Timers and alarms are very important to me. I use the timer on my watch 5-10 (or more) times daily. LO is learning to use portable handheld timer that is treated as a game. Sometimes I ignore the timer buzzer because I am content to keep doing whatever I'm doing. It just keeps me aware of the time passing and gives me an opportunity to switch and do something else. Timer buzzer = choice.
I also use several alarms daily. The alarms are only set for events that can not be late for without immediate consequences. I limit the alarms to make sure that I don't ignore them. Only times that REALLY matter get an alarm. During the typical weekday there are 5 alarms that go off. Alarm buzzer = Stop immediately and do time sensitive event.

Good morning! a.m. routine is underway. Boy, am I ever missing "the crossroads of the day." I hope that will change next week with earlier schedules. Dd15 and one of the sleepover friends are making homemade waffles -- or crepes. I'm not sure which. The other friend left early to go to work, ds left early to go to work - his last day! And dh has just left for work too, though he took care of some work emails beforehand.
I have started a menu plan and groc. list. Grocery store is on the PODA for today. I'd like to work on my cards too, and dh and I are meeting late this afternoon for a jog - though, it will be hot (for us). High is forecast to be 90 today.
Here's a rough and not complete plan, not a li&t.
- a.m. routine - finish
- laundry - I'm always catching up
- finish menu plan and groc. list
- groc. store
- DPCs
- exercise
- yardwork? If it is not too hot.
- dinner will be early and light: lemon linguine w/ grilled chicken, salad, rolls. Both dd15 and ds need to be somewhere at 7.
I'm enjoying picturing Twins and Mr. Twins relaxing on the beach - and Kathryn arriving at her next vacation spot too.
Dh had a flight upgrade on his ticket each of our flights to and from MT this summer. The rest of our tix were frequent flyer tix, so no upgrades possible. We let everyone in our family choose if they wanted a turn in first class or not. Funny thing, most of us did not want to sit up there! I'd rather sit with my family than with strangers - and our flights weren't all that long. Ds sat there once, dd17 3 times. I think it was actually helpful to dd17's anxiety over flying. She flew very well this summer!!
Off to make my bed and finish the a.m. routine.

I have my timer going on my gal. tab 3;
posting from the p/c this time.
I've done the first few things and now I'm waiting on

for later on today.
Trash is dumped for trash day in the morning.
Sinks are clean.
Laundry is good I do need to put away some towels.
In the movie 'white house down' we saw this weekend I was surprised at how much the guy looked like the Wicki leaks person in the news.
Next up some
cooking day.
Crumb top cobbler to do after prepping the fruit for it.
I like some of the Samsung apps. one the big oven has recipes and meal plans for diabetics!

Got a devo app used that today and some fav. scripture verses those are great as well with fun photos to thinl calmly & meditate / pray on.
Now to figure out how to post my chicken pic. on my blog.

lucylee, yesterday I mentioned our travelers and I just knew someone else was away, but couldn't think who!!! Sorry I forgot you out there on the highway somewhere! Today is dd's first day - she has English last period, so she should be completely tuckered out by then every day! How does it feel to consider schools starting, pass the campuses, and realize you can let it go... ..
Lots of Round Robin spiffing - I've been in kitchen, DR, LR, front bath.
Made out a list of ~~~Dreaded Phone Calls~~~ - that counts as work on them, right?
Made one not-so-bad one.
Took one not-so-bad one.
Laid out in the sunshine for 20 - how exhausting. (smile) Well, actually it was sorta hot. Still nice.
Ds called and will be bringing my green-eyed boy2 for me to watch for a while. He has some tractor work to do.
So far today 2 pints of water and 1/2 apple and I feel quite good, so I was obviously overstuffed last evening when I went to bed earlier than usual. Glad to be having a low-calorie day since it's been a while. It should make me feel better.
Need to fold the clothes from the dryer if I have time before my boys arrive.
