I've packed a lot into this week - Labor Day, Rosh Hashanah, dr visit for dmom, hair appt, and more. I'm glad it's Finally Friday!

What a strange week this has been!

I just dragged myself out of bed - the alarm went off time and time again and I finally turned it off altogether.

Cleaning lady should be here soon.

I went to bed at 8:30 last night so I'm wide eyed and bushy tailed this morning.

S2BF and ready for visit to clinic for blood draw for DH this morning. Slept like a rock last night.

After that we will try to find someplace for breakfast and then get our mail in neighboring town.

Twins: No soap box. If they are having problems - you have to guide them. Megabus is good for return.

Good morning ladies! I have fed & let out the hens. The plastic only leaked in 3" place in the run most of it was dry so I'll have to secure it so wind doesn't blow it back. I have been considering getting some clear fiber glass for the top. Might be getting h's help with that.

We will see. But this is working pretty well for now.
He said one of the guys at work had a neighbor hat had an older hen die of heart failure from the t-storm night before last. h. asked about mine they are younger and fine. When the black hens got new feathers after a molt they have white flecks I like how it looks, I did not know they go grey.

Took an umbrella on my walk past evening but did not need it. Birthday desserts have added 2# I need to get off.

It's been a short week but a rough one. 'Nuff said.

Today's 8x8 =

* DPC & pay bills

* Save-the-date postcards have arrived for the sewing group's Quilts of Valor sew-in in October. Bought the stamps yesterday. I need to format and print mailing labels, affix the labels & stamps, and take to post office.

* Bank deposit for library group

* Shop for birthday cards for DMIL (lunch this Sunday) and DSis (surprise party next weekend).

* Deliver charity items that group members have sewn to the organization that requested them.

* Stop at hardware store to look at/might buy a small shop vac. Hardware store is next door to Aldi, I can zip in for milk, veg, and hamburger.

* Figure out what's happening with library group's FB account. I finally got it all set up and started posting updates, but now they won't let me login. Might have to dump the whole thing and start over from scratch.

* Multiple Emails about the Quilts of Valor event.

After looking at that li%t, I need a water break!

Aww, Harriet, girls can be so mean spirited can't they? I hope to get to the bottom of dd's issues w roommate. i think probably she doesn't have a broad group of friends so when the roommate does things and doesn't invite her it stings. Roommate says dd is too sensitive. Either way, tho dd has to face it and deal with it 'cause I'm not listening to it every other day via phone. I got too many people to take care of already.

I'm getting a massage/body work at 1:30 - much needed btw - and then heading out to p/u dd.

Well I have plenty to focus on this morning. We leave for the beach tomorrow. All is in order, but now I just have to work on the final stuff. Most items to be packed are stacked next to the suit cases. This time I am sending a larger bag through instead of trying to jam everything into carry on. I have some unusual things ...like a very light back pack...to take along for the days we want to explore the island on bike or scooter. I am also taking a small insulated lunch bag and some swimming gaggles. Will take a carry on with my swim suit and change of clothes in case of a luggage mishap.

The house is in great order so no worries there. I need to spend some time on my desk, bring my outside plants in and move my jewelery around to my hideout place. My BBF used to put her good jewelery in her garbage when she went out of town, but ended up forgetting where it was and dumped it all when she forgot and took her garbage to the curb. I'm good a thinking like a thief, so I have some special places I use. Even Sweetie doesn't know where they are, but I made sure my son does. Shades of my Child of the 60's thinking....

Am packing light and simple. I will have access to a washer and dryer in the unit so that makes life simple. There is a Wally world on the way form the airport and I already have a grocery list in hand, plus there are several stores on the island....For years I lived in a condo on the beach so this next week's expectations are almost second nature to me...now it I was traveling to Italy or France or some place like that I might be a bit more frazzeled.

Hair is just long enough to pull in a low pony-tail and there won't be much need for make-up. Have plenty of sun screen...Sweetie needs it more than me...including my very good face stuff. Remember I spent 4 days on the Colorado River and I came home as pale as I went. Have several rain ponchos packed...very simple and light weight...great for walking beaches if its raining. Sweetie and I were raised on the beaches of NJ so we know how Mother Nature can play.

Harriet...High schools should be called Mean schools....I was treated much like that in the beginning even though I had gone to school with many in grade schools. In face for me the meanest began in 8th grade. Though I got my feelings hurt a time or two I learned to take the high road when faced with those types of situations. I sat alone at lunch for a long time, so I understand the feeling. I think my theory of "that which doesn't kill you...." was developed during my HS years. I feel for your daughter, and I feel for you...The worst part of my son's growing up years were when his feelings were hurt and there was no way to mend his heart. Never felt more helpless then those times.

Lilac....I've driven the Dragon Tail on the back of a bike several times....Nerves of steel and plenty of trust are required when riding as a passenger....on the other hand ( ) I loved riding the mountains...what a feeling of freedom. I miss riding more than I could ever put into words.

LOVE the grasshopper story, but I'm that type of gal. When my dad fished, he kept his blood worms in the refridgerator. They are very large...8-10 inches... red in color and have legs like a centipede. I grew up with them in the fridge, so it didn't seem odd to me. My mother was always teasing my brother that some day she was going to make him a worm sandwich to take to school. Some years later while my brother was in HS, he was giving my mom a difficult time. She decided to teach him a lesson....The next day when he went to school my mom had packed him the most beautiful lettuce, tomato and worm sandwich on rye bread and then waited for him to come home. After school he came into the house and never said a word about the sandwich...dinner came and went, so did bedtime...at breakfast my mom couldn't stand it any more and fearing he had actually eaten the sandwich questioned him about it. Seems he had noticed some legs sticking out between the bread and knew what she had done....and then he decided to turn the tables on her. Gotta love both of them. for years its been a favorite family story.

OK no more dilly dallying around here...I'm off. Hopefully I'll be back later...we'll see. Enjoy your day......

DH brought me my morning coffee, with a kiss, and he said, "Happy Anniversary and a day!" Too cute! ♥

Western WA State had 6,900 lightning strikes yesterday afternoon - night! It was really "something" to see. Once, we turned off the great room lights so we could watch the lightning through the slider door and transom window. Wow! It was beautiful!

I plan to do some yoga stretches after breakfast and my shower. I'd like to dust offices. We scrubbed toilets on our 43rd W. A., can you believe that?

Have a wonderful Friday! I'm so glad Friday's finally here! It's been a nutty week and next week there is only 1 appt., thank goodness. The following week is my physical. After that's done, it's mammogram time.
